I wanted to make a topic on innovative scams but since there's already a topic let me just say it here.

There's a very old trick that scammers use to scam people on social media, Twitter especially. What they do is, when someone makes a complaint to a company about a failed transaction they go under the tweet and reply as the company and drop a telegram or WhatsApp link that will help solve the issue.

This type of scam was obvious at the time because they were not verified accounts and their comments were automatically hidden by Twitter because the algorithm had detected them as spam accounts.

Now that Twitter verification is just a few box, any Tom, dick, and Harry can get verified and comment under your tweet like the company you're making the complaint to. They may also refer you to their DMs.

If you make a complaint about the services of a company you patronize on Twitter do try to check and verify if the people replying to you is the official company page.

The risk in being an online worker is so high with many unsuspecting and unlucky ones falling victim to scammers on a daily that's why strict carefulness and security in these line of work shouldn't be neglected because a slim mistake can lead to a big loss that may not only affect you in person but extend to other people linked to your business.

You are correct, mate, despite the high risk attached, some people are just still careless about their security. There was a thread created some weeks ago where the member expressed how his assets worth about $100k were hijacked from his wallet. Although it was hard to believe, but with the transaction hash he provided, the evidence was just there. I really do feel sorry for some of these victims, who lose a great sum of money every day. Even lately, there has been some new malware that has been developed to easily track and absorb user privacy details and compromise such users security. This gives us more reason to be very careful and handle our security with paramount importance.
If there's anything someone should put so much paramount on after owning some coins it should be security. Security is important in this space of tech and can't be overemphasized because on a daily new malware's and tricks are being invented by these scammers and dark web users to be able to gain access into people wallet either by owner's misgiving or through some sort of brute force. When we invite people to adopt bitcoin for their use we should also press emphasis as a reminder to them about the aspect of security and possible measures they case take to avoid being victimized or financially wasted.

There are newbies that got scammed or wallet hacked in their very beginning of adoption of bitcoin and the experience scared them away thinking that the might loss more money should they continue again. But when we emphasize about the security side of it to them as we do with the profit making aspect I believe it will save a lot of them from experience those losses from start to finish.

Your story proves that scammers do find different ways just to scam people either through a fake account or someone's account and more. I can only think one thing to prevent which is to be very careful on what you are going to do especially if someone send you something. Even though you have tight security there's no telling when it will get compromised that's why always keeping an eye on your security if it's still good or not or maybe needs an upgrade.

i was still connected with that guy in voice call and he was constantly pushing me to do the work fast.

This is a line for all those who want to avoid being scammed should look at. A scammer will always give you something to suspect them with. They will urge you to go fast in whatever they want to play you on because they know a smart person may discover or sniff something when they go slow. So be watchful when dealing with some guy online and he is asking you to jump right in fast and start riding with them. I think they are either going away from asking for money first but to offer it and then want to work their way through getting you to it.

It's not easy to be smarter than those guys. They will always perfect their scam before bringing it out to people. That is why we need to be extra careful when dealing with any online investment.

You can take it to the bank, it is just a sure prove that you have to look out for and get alerted when in such situation. A scammer must try to make you do whatever he is asking you to do very fast because if you take your time then you are likely to get what trick he wants to play on you and this is common with online scammers. So no matter how smart a scammer is, you are likely to distort his game when you slow him down.

Agreed,  I have watched several YouTube videos of guys trying to scam others ,and one thing I have noticed is that they put you under pressure so that you don't think straight and will do as told...before your senses are back the damage is done.

That is the trick. Put pressure on the victim and make him act fast and before you know it, you are already losing out and can't retrieve the mistake made. Most times the pressure appears to you like if you don't provide information sort for, you will be losing out on the business deal. Those are just the trick, take your time because a genuine business transactions wants you to take your time, think over it and be careful not to make mistakes so that the business will go through. If they are forcing you or pressure and threat then becareful on it.

These are reason why greedy people get scammed faster. They are mostly carry away by the fake promises of the scammers. They will want to tap from the promising scam as soon as possible. This will make them not to think as usual.

Well, someone in your field of work should know how to make security a top priority because if, by mistake, anything leads to your security being compromised, it can cause losses not only to you but also to others. My brother also had a similar experience where he was asked to submit some country IDs, a resident permit, and a utility bill before he could be accepted to work just as a telegram moderator, but he was wise enough not to submit those documents, and later it was discovered that those guys were just scammers. Who knows what they were going to use those IDs for? Everyone who is just into any online-related work or investment really needs to take their security seriously; otherwise, it can ruin their reputation, depending on what the case is, or cause them to lose their assets.

I do know another incident where a scammer tries to hack the victim's computer by asking him to be a game tester in their P2E game. The victim was a professional gamer and was not aware of the security risk from crypto-related projects. He was lucky that he uses VMware to run that games on his computer. He later found that wasn't any games instead it was an application that can inject malware into the system and gain access to that system.
Things are really happening in the online space and with anyone that's not careful may end up losing both money and career to online scammers who have sworn never to rest from profiting through the energy and sweat of legally working individuals and organisations.

Sometimes I pause to question myself on how some humans find bliss in turning the life of another human somewhere into a life of misery by hijacking assets and projects that people have put in their whole life time to bring to success. It's very scary to imagine it.

Money can manipulate one's mind. Greedy people don't investigate, don't spend time searching, but instead, they directly jump into those influencers that offer them money...

They are not only greedy, but also stupid, who do not understand that money does not appear out of thin air and have no idea how the cryptocurrency market works. For this reason, they easily believe scammers who promise to increase their deposit by 100% in 24 hours.

who noticed now that they are right in our very nose, example of these people are the content creators on social medias, e.g of the most place is TIKTOK, there is this game they just introduce as of recent... to play and win the problem with most humans is they dont take correction, now this NGAWINS is just been promoted by the content creators and they are the ones turning out to always win but their FANS are not. its really getting out of hand how we choose to make our fellow humans loss to another human and the other will go home smilling while the other go home crying. not a fair WORLD...!
That's right. Their fans will never win. And even if they win, they can only win a fraction compared to those influencers.

And nowadays, the way scammers work has changed a lot compared to a few years ago. They become more creative in attracting the attention of potential investors and provide the lure of big profits in a short time. The skills of the scammers have also increased following the current trend.

And only by being careful can we avoid the traps and offers they provide. Don't be easily tempted by something that looks easy to get and can pay off big quickly because it seems too good to be true.

things like that are common. especially in games, influencers can get settings from managers to get wins or continue to win big to attract more people to play on their platform.
when you want to bet your money to play. still, you have to avoid influencers. I'm not saying all of them act like that. because indeed it is part of the marketing strategy used. it would be better to avoid them.
this may apply to all apps advertised by influencers. whether it's a gambling platform or an online money lending platform. exchange platform. maybe not all bad, but just in case do some research by searching and reading a bit more.

These scammers will never stop being innovative and creative in new ways to penetrate our minds and emotions.

I saw a post last time on Facebook where he is already an experienced airdrop hunter. Despite trying his best to avoid getting scammed, at least a scammer scored an ace on him. As a result, his computer was infected with ransomware.

Of course they work to take advantage of the increasingly advanced state of technology. They exploit user weaknesses in the use of technology. Because currently not many think about the vulnerabilities and gaps that exist on smartphones or applications they use. They are getting more advanced because they understand that the techniques they use may already be known by many people. So they also need to reform their ways to harm others.

Money can manipulate one's mind. Greedy people don't investigate, don't spend time searching, but instead, they directly jump into those influencers that offer them money. It is very unfortunate but it was hard to change people's mindsets nor to stop them from believing those influencers and I see how effective it was to drag people from falling into scam projects. And this is certainly going to happen to anyone if we don't change our behavior and if we don't stop thinking about instant rich/easy money.

...Crypto space fast-paced technological innovation to bring simplicity and add more security to human life. So scammers are also finding new ways to scam people.

The fraudster must surpass his victim in terms of knowledge, and possibly in terms of intellectual development, otherwise he will not be able to convince his victim to voluntarily part with his money. Therefore, you should learn as much as possible about the offer before using it.

Although his centralized accounts are technically safe because of 2FA and other security layers, his wallets aren’t especially the main one where he had a big balance. So all of his assets got drained and started from scratch again.

Even me a couple years ago where I did avoided to be scammed by any means necessary, but one night changed everything when a scammer scored an ace of me by penetrating my mind to “collaborate” and sign a “NDA” where it is a fake PDF that drained almost all of my assets.

Nothing to do but lesson learn and move forward. No matter how many security software and apps that are being installed, it would still be useless if we do not learn how to exercise due diligence.

You did the right thing by sharing the incident here. At least, members here are now aware of how this scam operates and will remain safe from this scam. However, this scam cannot be eliminated completely because there are still crypto users who will never come across this post.

Scammers know people easily fall for freebies and that's because greed is universal. Those who want to reap where they didn't show should've themselves to blame if they're hoodwinked. Why would anyone believe a random person would throw money at them just like that for free. There's something beneath such Greek gift and everyone who's offered one should find out what is hidden under it.
No one will double money for free, especially if he's just a random person we meet. This will be a valuable lesson to always be reminded that, scammers will trick their victims with bonuses, give aways and some sweet promises that will give a lot of money. it's all bullshit made for gullible new users. we really have to be aware that no one is going to give a lot of money to a stranger. they are just scammers who will drain anyone's money.

Scammers are getting more innovative everyday because they understand the only way they can get people to fall into their trap is to come up with something that is so real, that people will see and believe to be through. When it comes to talking business with strangers we do not know online one needs to be very careful and not to be so fast with everything just because of money being offered.  Scammers believe coming up with the same story to people will make people know who they truly are that is why they come up with something different that is so real to believe . We just need to be extremely careful about the people we meet online, their should be that consciousness of scam when we meet strangers.

I see that they are really hard to distinguish right now and thankfully you have some technical knowledge about Javascript and you quickly know what was going on out there. That's what they are doing right now that's why most of the popular pages that I was following on social media always getting hacked by these scammers. No wonder they are using new innovative strategies as well to fool others with this kind of tactic. That would be a worse scenario when they gonna start sharing those scam investment links with your name on the front page. thankfully you were able to stop that from happening.

I experienced this by finding inboxes from strangers who told me to open the link and take my prize.
This is a big turnoff for me. Once I get any business proposal inbox without me being the one who initiated it, I know it's obviously a scam waiting to happen. How people fall for such cheap orchestration where they're held by the strings like puppets by people they may not even know beats me hollow.

Even though I didn't enter any contest at that time. scammers always promise to give me lots of profit with just a few BTC or ETH coins I can send.

This is a red flag. For me, once anyone is pushing me to be hasty while on a business or financial deal with them I instantly suspect a foul play. There is always something they don't want you to notice if you took your time to go through the process. So, they want to rush you through it and prevent you from seeing the trap. Don't fall for it. Take your time. Good to read you didn't. There's always something that gives away any scam plot if we scrutinized the offer without being hasty.

Talking about Discord, it has remained the hardest of all SM for me to understand. It looks disorganized and doesn't have any "accord".
Scammers put pressure on their targets to be fast in making transactions. I experienced this by finding inboxes from strangers who told me to open the link and take my prize. Even though I didn't enter any contest at that time. scammers always promise to give me lots of profit with just a few BTC or ETH coins I can send. He kept pushing and in the end I blocked him. It would be very dangerous if it continued and would unknowingly fall into its trap. must be careful if you come across a stranger like this.
