Scammers are everywhere so we have to be very careful with our money because it belongs to us and we only know how hard it is to earn that money so if someone saying you can double that in minutes then its not too hard to smell something shady behind their words.
Fraudsters use different tactics to make money out of people's greed and it will be easy to recognize them if you're well aware of their system. Scammers usually used false promises that seem realistic to attract attention, like claiming that they are from well-known organizations and earning money without facing any risk. Thus, we should always search to verify things before trusting someone with money.

With the recent price increase of BTC, the number of scammers are also increasing. Yesterday I saw a few people posted bitcoin doubler scam link on one of my facebook group. Since the price is increasing, such scam method will also increase. Do not trust any lucrative offer you get, please check on google before putting your money.
They are available on Twitter too, it's a shame newbies still fall for such trick, there is no way to make money easily, greedy people are the one falling for such tricks but I bet they will learn the hard way, any offer that requires you making a deposit is SCAM

...Since the price is increasing, such scam method will also increase. ..

I do not associate the increase in the price of bitcoin with the number of scammers. There are already too many scammers in the crypto world. I meet such scams almost every day and most of all scammers use a Ponzi scheme. This is because it is very easy to register a new site and place a template with a similar scheme there. And then just wait for someone to click on the ad and place their Deposit there.
Trust me, when price increase there will be a lot of new scammers + new scam method to scam the new investors mainly because newbie has lack of knowledge. At a bull market, scammers get very active.
as long as money is involve  theres no way to stop this scammers from doing bad things.  If there are still  people who believes on ponzi scheme scammers wont stop to steal someones money.

Only newbies or those who are risk takers are going to fall for this scam, we all know that doublers should be a thing of the past, so many have fallen to this kind of projects in the past, scam will always continue not only on scheme like doublers, but also on giveaways and ICO and IEO giveaways, this is a multi million industry, so expect the rise of scam projects.

I agree that the most money is lost from fraud by newcomers who are promised a large profit in just a few days. In order to deceive newcomers. But in order to deceive newcomers, scammers do not need to create new fraudulent schemes, all of them will continue to work. These are such common schemes as bitcoin doublers, investment plans, virtual mining and fake ICOS.

I'll partially agree with point "new scam method to scam new investors" but won't agree to where you wrote "price increase there will be a lot of new scammers. No one knows or have statistics or proof about numbers or scammers during bull or bear season. It better to say they improvise every season making it look like new set of scammers. You can't tell who is who from these scammers

Scammers are always waiting for opportunities. These scammers will never end. When the price of Bitcoin goes up, a lot of investors come to the market and there are old and new investors. And the main target of these scammers is new investors. Because new investors have no idea about such scams. So scammers try to take advantage here. Every time the bitcoin market starts to go up, the number of these scammers increases. So now everyone should be careful. We should also warn others.

Exactly! It is actually very possible that Google itself will be the one to lead you to a much more dreaded scenario.

Just hours ago, an article in line with this issue just popped up on my feed: https://cointelegraph.com/news/google-keeps-promoting-crypto-scams-despite-strict-crypto-policies

Before painting google all evil:

Quote
The fraudulent CoinCornerr.com website is currently unavailable. Its Google Ad has purportedly been taken down at the time of publication. According to domain registration data, the fraudulent domain was created on April 29.
Pretty fast response from them, right?

Second:
Quote
According to Spiers, the fraudulent website successfully bypassed Google Ads’ restrictions by not mentioning Bitcoin or cryptocurrency in their advert at all.

That website was not praying on people searching to buy Bitcoin, it was just a phishing scam for the domain "CoinCorner".
Nobody who would have searched for the terms "buy bitcoin", "sell bitcoins" would have seen that ad.
And people are falling for Ponzi scheme for a century, with all the info available there are still cases all over the world, there are hundreds of other scam schemes still running people are still sending money to that Nigerian prince, to the "it's me it's me" phone scam, to many others, and some will still fall those ICOs, doublers, cloud mining and so on...

It will take years before those will start dying and the new wave of crypto users is educated enough so they won't become victims.

Oh, one funny thing...
Bragging all over the place that you have made x100 profits in crypto isn't helping either  Grin Grin

Well, these scammers are not choosing any season. They are there for all seasons, bears or bulls.

True, but it's quite evident that they are more active in bull markets as a good number of beginners are flooding into the markets in a bull market. The bull run of 2017 is the perfect example.
Yes, you are right.

I think the fact that everyone is in their homes too due to quarantine is an additional factor.

The fraud attempt by the scammer will never end and this has been done for a long time. Various schemes have been carried out and this keeps us careful not to get caught in traps.

With the recent price increase of BTC, the number of scammers are also increasing.
Even they will still make scam attempts when the price of bitcoin dump or sideways.

Also be cautious of the altcoin popping up as they too can be scam traps.
Exactly, many cases have occurred before. Finally, I believe that this thread is very useful if we are bitcoin users. Dont trust anyone online if they are cant prove anything.

Check google sometimes isn't enough since scammer also abuse google ads and use SEO optimization to make their website is in first page.

Anyway, everybody should just be safe rather than sorry. Be generally skeptical when it comes to online investment opportunities. You don't have to wrestle with either a yes or a no after a juicy ROI offer is made. You don't have to go that further. You might end up swayed. Just take note that anything which solicits money as investment online should be marked red immediately.

The lack of background knowledge on Bitcoin and how it works is one of the reasons people fall easily for scams such as this. Newbies to Bitcoin would be willing to accept any idea sold to them about it, especially if it has the potential to make high returns for them. If you invest in what you don't understand, you're more than likely going to get scammed.

Reporting scammers' websites and social accounts is one way to reduce the scourge.

Some Bitcoin doubler scams I found months ago are still up and running. Even if they were to be dropped, they would return with yet another try to scam us. A scammer will most likely continue their attempts unless someone takes a good care of them..

Anything digitally that gets adopted on a wider level or has its interest increased will become a target to more scams/hackers/malware. It's common sense that a hacker/scammer will want to push their attempts to a larger audience because this is how their chances to succeed increase as well.

It's not surprise since even if there's no sudden changes to the price of bitcoins you can actually see those doubler and other hyip investments sites created since this schemes are business by scammers. But what the bad thing here is those scams are still promoted since there are still people who live's to earn from referral commissions on hyips and I see so many people doing this especially on social media pages.

It's even worse due to current pandemic which affect economy and many people are getting desperate where people either got scammed easier or become the scammer.

Exactly. Imagine if the economy implodes, and for example bitcoin rises in price like in the December 2017 levels. Assuming a decent number of people moves a good amount of their wealth to BTC, and some of them gets hacked, the damage will be tenfold. Families gets broken, people go homeless, people go hungry, and other very negative stuff. Don't get my wrong, I'd love a good bull run, but thinking of these stuff happening makes me sick to my stomach.
