Why not contact Poloniex to alert them of the scam that's brewing under their name so that the alert any potential victims from falling for this cheap scam! Better late than never  Wink

Done. Thank you. I was really busy and multitasking when I got it, didn't think of it. But good idea, and I just wrote them.

Nice info! Thanks

Yup. I could totally see someone anxious to get listed there falling for that. Wanted to make sure people were aware of it.

If it happens to anyone else, please post here. Though I figure they're likely to switch it up because they probably follow this site and might see this post.

I'm also curious if anyone gets similar but different scam attempts as web comment posts or emails. And it's good to post them to help others avoid them.

I look at altcoins, especially CryptoNote coins, as something where it's go to be in cooperation rather than cutthroat competition.

Hello, Bipcoin Dev Team!

If you pay me 1 BTC I can get you onto Mt. Gox!

Please respond at [email protected]

But you must hurry, I am moonlighting as the Minister of Finance for Nigeria, and the rebels are closing in on the capital, I must find a generous person to help me secure the treasury's balance outside of the country!

It claims to be from  Tristan D’ agosta
at email
[email protected]

IP
86.45.252.233
 is in  Ireland, Laois, Portlaoise
is not a proxy. Is sent from a mobile network.

While I'm sure the person at the other end of this email would take my Bitcoin if I responded enthusiastically, I'm sure it would not result in my coin BipCoin being listed on Poloniex Exchange.

First, that's not Tristan's email. I know Tristan's email address because a friend whose coin is on Poloniex gave me an introduction. Tristan's email is not a gmail address.

Second, I doubt anyone at Poloniex Exchange has a gmail address that misspells "Poloniex"!  lol.

Just wanted to give a heads up for any other altcoin devs who recieve the same scammy message. It's not Poloniex. And these people will probably come up with a different email now that spells Poloniex right, like
[email protected]
or something like that.

Poloniex company email addresses are not gmail addresses.
