Wouldn't these coins actually gain some value over time for the common folk?  Much like the USD, as the difficulty increases the wealth production concentrates more  towards the elite (big rig miners) and the average guy with the average miner like myself will stop finding blocks.  Eventually we'll start protesting that 99% of the wealth is concentrated with 1% of the holders (the big rigs).

p.s. much like the lottery, the fat cats will let us mine away pointlessly in search of our big break, keeping us down and the difficulty up, knowing it is a waste of our cpu resources that could be put to use mining quark.

Uh huh, hmmm are your printing from your phone? Maybe you need to go into your program settings and stop some programs from using your  cpu, you should be getting more primespersec than that.

What is the total number of Bernankoin printed?

Right now
"moneysupply" : 355709123.45999998,

Ever?

static const int64 MAX_MONEY = 2000000000000000000000000000 * COIN;

So virtually unlimited

This makes it realistic. Good job dev, this is a great interpretation of the 21st Century Federal Reserve.

DOCEX for all you Bernankoin Fanatics:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=383166.new#new
Please be aware that inflating currencies are a poor store of value. I fear I can't stop noobs from burning themselves, they will do it again, but at least try to understand the economic principles behind Bitcoin.

Being a poor store of value may go along way to making a coin a currency instead of a commodity.  If you need to spend the coin instead of hoard it, it may actually be useful as a medium of exchange...  now if we only had some way to spend it.  Wink

The windows client from Mega site keeps crashing for me (during history synchronizing), am I the only one with those problems?

Bernankon-Qt (OSS GUI client for Bernankoin) has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Error signature:
AppName: bernankoin-qt.exe AppVer: 0.1.2.0 ModName: msvcrt.dll ModVer: 7.0.2600.5512 Offset:00032a16

Appreciate any help on how to fix this, thanks in advance.

You can build it yourself for linux.

Get the dependencies
Code:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install yasm -y git make g++ build-essential libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install -y libboost-all-dev libdb++-dev libgmp-dev libssl-dev dos2unix

get the source
Code:
git clone https://bitbucket.org/pankkake/bernankoin.git

build it
Code:
cd ~/bernankoin/src
make -f makefile.unix

Yeah thank but I have no Linux installed on my computer.
I tried from my VPS -> seem have memory issue ?
Booting from USB -> can't find dependency libboost-all-dev. Tried install libboost-*-dev then make, but getting error with lboost.
I'm to lazy to spend hours to fix this. I hope the dev will release a complied version for linux.

These are the dependencies I had to install:

Code:
sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install qt4-qmake libqt4-dev build-essential libboost-dev libboost-system-dev libboost-filesystem-dev libboost-program-options-dev libboost-thread-dev libssl-dev libdb5.1++-dev miniupnpc libgmp3-dev libboost-all-dev libminiupnpc-dev libminiupnpc8 unzip

sudo apt-get install libboost1.48-dev libboost-chrono1.48-dev libboost1.48-doc libboost-date-time1.48-dev libboost-filesystem1.48-dev libboost-graph-parallel1.48-dev libboost-graph1.48-dev libboost-iostreams1.48-dev libboost-locale1.48-dev libboost-math1.48-dev libboost-mpi1.48-dev libboost-program-options1.48-dev libboost-python1.48-dev libboost-random1.48-dev libboost-regex1.48-dev libboost-serialization1.48-dev libboost-signals1.48-dev libboost-system1.48-dev libboost-test1.48-dev libboost-thread1.48-dev libboost-timer1.48-dev libboost-wave1.48-dev

wget https://www.dropbox.com/s/stn6u5ajvfmduz8/miniupnpc-1.8.20131209.tar.gz
tar -xzvf miniupnpc-1.8.20131209.tar.gz
cd miniupnpc-1.8.20131209
make
make install

Already mining it 5 hours but not a single block I generate ! can you tell why?

"primespersec" : 947,

With ~ 3000 primespersec I'm finding about one block per hour. Leave it running for the whole night and you should get a couple.

thanks
