The use of the hybrid algorithm to assess prospects of the funded project will be most effective. As a result of assessing an unlimited number of decentralized experts who own ScientificCoin, together with a complex algorithm, only effective projects with certain quotations will be selected. The algorithm will prevent experts from succumbing to emotions or temporary trends, and an unlimited number of participators will be able to avoid fraud or funding really unsuccessful – from a commercial point of view – projects.

This algorithm will be one of the most important features of ScientificCoin. It will determine the annual issue of coins for mining and rewarding experts depending on multiple factors (the coin rate on exchanges, statistics of project needs for computing capacities for past periods, etc.). The algorithm will be integrated into the blockchain system so as not to violate the principles of decentralization.

Interesting idea.

Have you thought about adding scientific journals and publications and rewarding those who post their papers on there?

Cause so many people around the world cannot access research papers unless you're coughing up insane amounts of money.

http://www.righttoresearch.org/learn/problem/index.shtml

Over the past two decades, the price of subscriptions to academic journals has increased tremendously, to the point where they’re often out of reach for students, even at the most well funded institutions.  Many journals now cost in excess of $10,000 per year, with a few peaking at over $25,000 per year1, and your library can’t afford access to them all.  For example, MIT has had to increase its journal budget by over 360% over 20 years to keep up with journal price increases, and the University of California-Berkeley has increased their journal expenditures by 1,300% over roughly the same period.

Hi, and thanks for your advice. We will investigate into this (my take is that those journals, at the moment, are a little bit cautious about the crypto world)

Every year around the world  there are many innovative companies with original ideas for business and big ambitions. But according to some estimates, only 10-15% of the total number of newly launched startups succeed. I think the main reason is the lack of product or at least ready-made developments. Having only one idea in the mind of the scientist, for most investors, it is very small, they want guarantees about the safety of their investments. This is a fact, all ranks investors don't really" favor " the scientific sphere. Will you charge a commission for ICO's management of such projects on your site? am I right?

There are a hundreds of thousands scientific start-ups in the world , many already with the finished technology. Even ICO projects are now thousands. And who evaluates them? ICO trackers? homegrown experts ( ICO ratings websites) without professional skills, not to mention their hidden goals. They define score for each ICO project, including scientific! I think our project will also get a score on this kind of websites, although we are not ICO.

Investors are invested in scientific projects provided that the risk assessment is reliable and transparent. Many scientific projects are too complex to quickly familiarize investors with them. This is why the investor, saving time, invests in a product that is more understandable to him. This is the work of venture funds that contain a staff of professional experts for evaluation, but they are not decentralized, which often leads to abuse, corruption and financial manipulations.

Given the high reliability of an decentralized expert opinion and mathematical algorithm, a project with a good quotation will be
capable of attracting the necessary funding without expenses on advertising.  ( perhaps as you say they will be about 10-15% of the total number of placed on the platform)
Each project that raised funding through Scientificcoin pays 5% of the amount collected
(these funds are distributed annually between Scientificcoin holders).

I like this. Will stay a wile to se where is going.
Gl guys!

Thanks for your words!
This is our second project: we conducted a successful ICO last year to fund Health Monitor (a typical project who will be listed in Scientificcoin platform in the future). Basically, we are scaling our previous experience into something much bigger.
By the way, in August you can meet us in Las Vegas (Blockshow)

In recent years, russian projects have proved to be not the best side, many scams , so investors aren't in a hurry to carry their money.  Especially in the science area , the return on investment will be longer, and most investors are interested in a fast profit and don't want to wait. Hardly the "scientific" projects can be expected to make large profits very soon. Why did you choose only scientific projects?

Our team is mostly from Novosibirsk: one of the largest Russian science center. Here, many IPs and researches are not brought to market due to a lackness of funds (If you remember, Health Monitor was an example).
We setup this platform/coin to overcome this issue: and we are sure that listing more profitable projects we will attract investors.

It is still not clear to me how to generate profit out of it. Usually, scientific research is done in academia and the technology readiness level is quite low. You cannot sell such research with such low TRL. It takes years to carry out scientific research. How long would you expect to be the time to break even?
We understand that the still young crypto market suffers high volatility today, and most investors expect a high
return on investments. That’s why 90% of the projects will be related to applied science,
and most of them will have an off-the-shelf technology. In any case, our platform will
make a worthy step towards the institute of ICO organization, as well as the evaluation
of profitability, reliability, and social significance of projects. Some projects will be highly
profitable, but risky; others will be reliable with conservative income. But it is no doubt
that we will create an impartial risk assessment that potential investors can base on.

Oh, I remember health monitor. Yes, I will agree with you, attracting large private investors is more reasonable, who won't whine because of the every market fall and other problems. Okay, but in what form, if not classical, will your ICO take place? private sale by invitation only?

At the moment, ScientificCoin is at the stage of a closed token sale.

Each project on the platform indicates at which stage his located. An investor can find a short-term project for himself, which does not require funds for additional research and, accordingly, time for research (with finished products). However, there are "heavy" projects, the implementation of which can reach 10 years. In this case, everything depends on the investor. Considering the number of projects on the platform, which will constantly grow, there is a great chance to find a project that is profitable for you.

We also create a platform that does not have limits on the time of its existence. The need for funding of scientific projects will always be. (but do not forget, not all projects are aimed at the further development of science. You can find b2c for example)

Projects releated science good opportinity for researchers but there are a few points that i didn't understand. For example what is te proof of research and how will people use this option as miners. Will it be a new coin or just a platform? And from investors perspective, if they invest to your project how they will earn income?
We will use this technology https://boinc.berkeley.edu/
This cryptocurrency already uses a similar technology. https://gridcoin.us/

Each Scientificcoin token created on ERC-20 will be replaced with SNcoin in a
proprietarily developed blockchain after the platform is launched (02/2019). Token
holders will exchange tokens by themselves. To do this, they will need to download
Scientificcoin Client
link to Beta version of platform  https://scientificcoin.io

Each scientific project that raises funding through ScientificCoin pays 5% of the amount collected (these funds are distributed annually between the ScientificCoin holders).

Here is a link to white paper https://scientificcoin.com/Whitepaper.pdf, in our team there are several well-known scientists, we officially cooperate with a http://www.btp-nso.ru (state organization). Already more than 30 serious scientific projects on our Beta-platform https://scientificcoin.io, with which you can get acquainted.

I described in detail the project's prospects in my articles. This is a very complex project, but definitely necessary for society. With us or without us, such projects will work in the coming decades.  https://medium.com/@dvedenidov

Hey, looks interesting, when do you plan to run the ICO? Do you think in the current downtrend is a good idea? So many good and really promising projects fail and don't gain the necessary funds to run.in the field of science, in my opinion, it's even harder to collect.

We have already completed about 60% of the work on the platform at our own expense.

We deliberately refused to set up a classic ICO, since in the current situation we do not
consider it possible to attract interest from small investors. In our opinion, most
investors of this type have already invested the available funds in other projects and
cannot withdraw from them due to sharp drops in the token rates after the withdrawal
to the stock exchanges (unfortunately, they will have to wait a very long time or even
forever). In our case, attracting 50-100 large investments is a more realistic prospect
than wasting time and money on advertising following the example of numerous ICO
projects.
Drawing on our past experience (http://healthmonitor.io ), where we raised 12% more
than the required amount with the participation of only six large investors, we have
developed an understanding that with the finished product and the observance of
transparency, the professional community will undoubtedly show interest in the project.
