Isn't it typical that when someone reviews a product, they then ship it back to the company (at the company's expense)?
When the first BFL unit came out -- I remember reading the article on CNet I believe -- and they were given a test unit to review (but had to give it back in the end).
Now if the company is unwilling to send a unit for review (for say 30 days) -- with the expectation they are to receive it back -- then I do see an issue.
This is just a custom cooling solution. Of course they are going to sell small numbers. It is not like they have special chips made. They are using currently available product to produce a better product.
I'll be glad to review a unit. PM me. I don't expect to keep it - but if I like it -- I would consider purchasing it. :-) Just make sure you provide the means to ship it back at your expense.
My company produces TV commercials -- so we can open it up in a professional studio using professional cameras and lighting. Not some jerky iPhone camera or even worse just stills.
really any thing i have ever reviewed was mine to keep trust me ive done a lot of reviews and testing for company's in surveys and other stuff still do that news to me . unless its a product that's all ready on the market they want to test some thing else for that product then i may have to return it but every survey or test i have ever done with any kind of demo that was my reward for doing the the survey review and testing. no matter what its been tv PC tooth paste etc it does not matter what the product is. even these .
Then why does bitmain Spondoolies-Tech Avalon some of them do it you don't even know till it's done ?. I am sorry ihave to disagree i know diff it does not cost them 2 k to make the dam thing to start most of that 2 k is nothing but profit. That's the best PR you can do any place send out the finished product no mater what it is . if you noticed all so the ones that do in fact send out Demos are still doing it at reasonable prices etc .
all the ADMIN are doing it making sure no one is ripped off . if you trust it that much buy into it :?) .
I don't see what the big deal is about it. Keeping a product adds bias to your review
in some cases this may be true but from what Ive seen from all of dogs reviews, none of them are bias he only gives the facts in the reviews he will in fact tell you in that review if its a bad buy, to loud etc . , some of his comments are but the facts and the reviews are not from what Ive seen
Ive heard of cars being offered as demos they could keep for there time to test it, i have yet to be that lucky. time is not free either . in fact nothing is free even the gift of life is not free just using that thing about life as a example before any one jumps all over me for saying it.
every thing has a cost some place a long the way , and reviews cost time
.
