the porn guys in general are quite conservative and write bitcoins off as a ponzi scheme, in my observation so far, quite strange especially considering the problems they are having with credit cards, but good because it leaves the market open for others to take advantage of

Doesn't really matter that most of them are. Eventually someone will see $$$ and buy or control existing biz to have a bitcoin backdoor (intended) for pure extra profit. Eventually it will be expected and old biz will adapt or die.

Might be mad money right now for working as an affiliate for a bunch of sites and taking coin. Sites won't have to know a damn thing about bitcoin.

Bitcoin happens to be extremely convenient for webstripping etc.

apart from the usual misconceptions, it turns out that these girls are dependent on the major "providers" of "infrastructure" for the fame and traffic they need. They quite laughed at one of those bitcam site someone made. The established larger cam sites are who's needed to start accepting Bitcoin, but I've always been suspecting that such services are deeply rooted in the establishment.

There was a spike just a few days ago that was bigger than anything in the last 3 months (including the Reuters article). It can clearly be seen here: http://www.google.com/insights/search/#q=bitcoin%20%2B%20bit%20coin%20%2B%20bitcoins&date=today%203-m&cmpt=q

The interesting thing about this is that there have been no major news during this time. But by looking at the rising search trends, we see where this is coming from. The fastest rising Bitcoin related Google searches are "bitcoin girls" and "girls gone bitcoin". This phenomenon has gone viral.

It is possible that porn is the second real deal for Bitcoin, after Silk Road I mean. Interesting to see how this develops. Bitcoin happens to be extremely convenient for webstripping etc. and it also keeps the client side fairly anonymous.

Does my eyes deceive me or the recent spike is twice as big than Good Wife airing?
