NAVcoin will begin signaling Segwit on May 1st.

They also have a great team of developers and interesting projects going on, check it out. Smiley

I checked on their website and it looks this is a promising crypto-currency. However, I looked at their roadmap and didn't see anything mentioning about the SegWit thing. Can you point me out to any article that says about signaling SegWit activation?

Edit: NVM, I already saw it in there Ann thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=679791.22400. I'll just have to check it out.

I don't understand why it is being implemented in alt-coins. Those alt-coins haven't hit the block size limit yet. They don't have high demand at the moment so there network does not fall apart unlike bitcoin. Maybe they want to test how SegWit will ran It alt-coin network but I don't think its necessary for the reasons above.

This “segwit” talk was all fine and dandy early on to me too but when you take a look at it why would most of the altcoins need it ?

Bitcoin needed it because of the high transaction fee’s, litecoin is doing it because it is easier for it to implement and its also huge anyway, but getting some 100 btc volume low marketcap coin to implement segwit is just useless, its not bad but its not good neither, just plain useless.

So now every other altcoin wants to implement Segwit even if they don't need to.  They should worry about if people are really using their cryptocurrencies for real world uses instead of adding features that will end up being useless.  But we all know they're all doing it for pumpability purposes.  Wink

Now that Ltc is on his way to successfully  implement segwit.
Im asking my self is there are other coins that are planning to do the same, for now i Just know VIA.
any hints?

and now ltc price is increase into 0.01 after segwit is completed and the price still change into 0.011-0.0012 and reach $15 in just few days. its good for ltc holder because their ltc made them much of profit and the time for ltc to raise will come soon.

def hype, litecoin has cooled off a bit from yesterday wouldnt besurprised if it heats back up in the next couple days the higher that segwit percentage goes.

actually i am little surprise with ltc price because my prediction, ltc price will be more than 0.02 but for now, we need to waiting for more weeks and if we take a look in the market, the ltc moving is really good.

many other altcoins are talking about implementation of SegWit but it is mostly because of the hype it gives them to pump their coin and in smaller coins it can sometimes be even more effective!
but also there are more benefits to SegWit than just the hype and price rise, the malleability fix is an example and also opening up the way for easy implementation of lightning network although I doubt any of the altcoins, specially those smaller ones even need this last one.

there is a topic in this board which is compiling a list of altcoins with SegWit support you can refer to it for more information. I believe it is updated:

vertcoin is going to implement segwit too, i don't know why all this run to implement segwit, they think that with the segwit implementation their coin will get more value, but they don't actually need any block size increase

I think is just for the hype and value

Digibyte, Syscoin. Both already planned to do segwit implemented in the future.

I think we will see more coins are trying to implement segwit to be his scalability.

More projects are interested on segwit and try to implement segwit in his ecosystem and no doubt if segwit will be popular in the technical solution, as far as I know segwit is really friendly with off-chain development.
