may be in less than 10 days the price of bitcoin will hit $4000.  Shocked
Activation of SegWit is not enough to push price that high. We still haven't reached a stable situation, we are waiting for next fork in 6 months.
This could potentially lead us to another split like we experienced with BCC.
I am uncertain about the future price of BTC, and I feel like the whole process of scaling might be the nail in the coffin of bitcoin's success.
Why activation SegWit necessarily lead to higher prices? I don't understand. Can someone explain to. The price of bitcoin depends on demand. What does activation SegWit. I guess people don't think about the reasons and any reason to take it as a way to increase prices.
You can understand when you buying a smartphone, compare the price of device version 5.1 and the price of device upgraded to version 7.0 + upgrade some hardware, the price device ver 7.0 always higher than the price ver 5.1, just need have some update and upgrade in system, it can make the price of them increasing Grin

Yes, to the Moon! Finally, the segwit has locked in after so many days of the debate it has finally locked in. Well, this is still some time before it is activated but still, I am expecting the price to increase in the next couple of weeks.

I guess the logic goes: Segwit allows more transactions for less fees, leading to increased adoption, leading to increased demand and prices. In addition it's a push forward after long years of stagnation.

However current (future) evaluations seem to be mostly based on probable (future) hype cycles, ie. on the assumption that Segwit is not yet fully priced in (which IMO is a naive proposition).

I wonder how much use the users will have for Bitcoin when the miners move to the BCC chain and leave the Core network stagnant.

Seriously, don't you ever get tired from rehashing your old nonsense that throughout the years, has not had any sort of result? In some cases I think the forum administration is way too loose when it comes to dealing with garbage and fud spreaders like you. Other than that, I am sure that behind your toxic and rotten forum appearance, hides a person that likes Bitcoin, and even more importantly, is extremely bullish. Just quit this nonsense and start acting like a person with decency, because the more you continue, the more you are making a total clown of yourself.

There is a thing called 'difficulty readjustment' and miners won't leave bitcoin chain.wait until you are proven wrong (again)  Cheesy

Moon? You mean Ground.
A lot of miners hate the SegWit corporate bankster code.
The ones that were not going to switch to BCC for profitability will now switch because of this SW evil.
Here comes the old kwukduck AKA bitcoin hater.still upset with the success of bitcoin?  Grin

I'm not hating on bitcoin. I'm warning people of what is logically going to happen.
Simple economics.
Miners go where it is profitable and the group that doesn't care about profit much will move to the other chain for political reasons.
lol look at your old replies to threads.Always whatever you say is going to happen never happens actually and this time in no exception  Grin.I don't know when people like you will learn that users decide the price of bitcoin not miners.Miners do not and should not have any decision except the choice of which coin they want to mine. It's the users who bring adaptation not the miners which results in price increase and userbase of bitcoin is much more then BCHcrap and will always be. Tongue

Segwit locked in now whats next? Make bitcoin sky rocket again $3500.

Its locked now then we will wait for it to activate? When is that?

Segwit will definitely gonna boost the growth of Bitcoin because less fees will increase the use cases of Bitcoin. Bitcoin price largely depends upon its utility because utility creates demand. And more the demand, more is the price when supply is already limited which will further decrease with halving after every four years.

The most, let's say, casual Bitcoin users probably don't even know what is today's lock in, only about the hardfork in earlier August, so the price won't rise that much. But some people's prediction are around $3600 and $4000, only a little more than 10% at most. This may be enough to reach this short term target.

We still needed 22 blocks left before technical lock-in. But I don't think that the Segwit is already price in. I'm expecting a slow phase of $3500-$4000 now. Of course this could be a mental barrier for some, specially seeing the price going to $4000. So we may see a little dip but there's no way that this steam could be stopped at $4000. I believed as well that this is long overdue for bitcoin ecosystem. The last couple of years of seeing a lot of debates, FUD's are finally over. We now have to wait and see where this Segwit thingy would take bitcoin, I'm seeing other saying $10000. Just don't get too excited we bitcoin has still a lot of surprises up his sleeves and maybe we can see price that we haven't thought would be possible in the end of the year.  Grin

Can't wait to see Segwit in action. But I'm afraid mid- to long-term it'll be merely a drop in the ocean unless we get decentralized non-linear scaling on the road soon as well :X

Yes i also think there will be a correction but small one and after that bitcoin price will rise even more who knows we may even see $10000 bitcoin Wink

Correction? I think you meant to say discount! Tongue

Assuming that Segwit is already priced in I'd expect a larger drop to be honest. Small comparably to what BTC used to see, but possibly in the 20% - 30% range nonetheless.

I think we will soon see bitcoin high even more after small correction.Fuck BCH Crap and be ready for real bitcoin to reach mooooooooooooooooooooooooon! Currently 99 blocks left before technical lock-in.

Yeah, it is definitely locked in now.

I think that this moment has been delayed for ages now and should have happened a long time ago. The scaling debate has been going on for like 2-3 years at least right now, and i’m just thankful that something has been done to make bitcoin available to a wider audience and lowering the transaction fees.

When SW actually gets activated at around 22nd August(this may not be the precise date but it should be around there) i would think that bitcoin users will be more optimistic than they have been in a long time about the future of bitcoin. Thus, there will be a pump on that day, possibly putting bitcoin above $4k.

BTW, I don’t think that Bitcoin Cash has anything to do with this, to be honest… Bitcoin cash is only a centralized altcoin that has an airdrop based on people’s previous bitcoin balances. Nothing else.

It would be more important when its being used as far as actual effect.   Of course this is the speculation section and I guess naturally people feel more bullish about it all proceeding to plan.   Sometimes the effect after the action can be ironic so mob might be right

I am also expecting same but at $4k we might see a very huge resistance. Anything above $3500 can be new high before dropping back to strong support level at $3k within next few days.

But if everything goes well with segwit I think there will be no big correction on price, actually current bull run might continue for next few days.
