Recently I installed Samourai on my Android phone. Every time I go to the receive page, it shows a different address, even though I didn't receive anything so there's no reason the address should change. This goes against my understanding of how an HD wallet works. Mycelium, for example, generates an address for receiving and no matter how many times you close the wallet and open it again, that receiving address stays the same until bitcoins get sent to it. Only then does Mycelium generate a new receiving address.
Why does Samourai keep changing the address? All you have to do is exit the receive page, open it again, and it shows a new address.
I find this particularly strange because I restored the Samourai wallet from the seed of the Mycelium wallet. Samourai shows the correct balance and transaction history, like Mycelium, but the Samourai wallet has an ever-changing receive address without even receiving coins.

Mycelium is looking pratically dead in my eyes after the whole ICO fiasco and how it's been 7 months since the Segwit activation and they don't even have plans on supporting it (they plan to release BCH support first - which is sad).

Last time I checked their Telegram channel (a few days ago). I've seen someone which I assume is a developer saying that their next target would be LN and SegWit but It's hard to believe since the SPV update was supposed to come months ago too, but yeah, It's a little bit chaotic right now.

I don't see a good alternative to coinomi for segwit addresses right now. I hope, mycelium will update some day to segwit, because its the best and securest android wallet in my opinion.

Coinomi is now a fully compatible SegWit wallet. After your update, you will need to go to receive tab and upgrade. You will then have the following[1] where you could choose between the three forms of addresses. Legacy (start with 1), Compatibility (with 3) and Default (start with bc1). Even though I'm not a great fan of Coinomi, this is a great update and I highly suggest everyone to start using the Default addresses.

Isn't it a wallet working using a browser plugin and in "watch only" mode, using username and password? (beside the smartphone app)
Greenaddress browser plugin allows one to create a new account/seed and one can send/receive bitcoins(it's exactly like smartphone app), it's not a watch only wallet. Isn't it a wallet working using a browser plugin and in "watch only" mode, using username and password? (beside the smartphone app)

Since there isn't any web wallet listed and a large percentage of people are using it, perhaps you can add Bitwala? They do have segwit wallets and you can get the private keys which are a plus
And if I am not wrong Airbitz aka Edge has the android version

Lol i switched as soon as trezor started supporting segwit. although i can't use my trezor on my mobile, currently using greenaddress as a spending wallet on mobile phone.

Yes I can confirm it too, I paid 50 satoshi/byte in a recent transaction of 0.02 bitcoins and the transaction was confirmed within the first 30 minutes. Meanwhile some of the websites which measure the effectiveness of different satoshi/byte fees showed that the maximum amount of time I would have wait was 240 minutes. I think fees are on the lower side now from quite a few days if not weeks.

No,coinbase is an exchange and there is a significant difference between a wallet and an exchange which you newbies don't understand.but still they don't want to use segWit wallets which cause very heavy transaction fee which is about $50 for sending $100 dollars in bitcoins.If it cointinues like that then it will affect the future of bitcoins.So people we need to use the wallets who uses support segwit address to have less transaction fee and we need to let know other people to use segwit wallet for lesser transaction fee.
You're correct.People need to use services which have activated segWit or are willing to do it anytime soon.Good exchanges like localbitcoins are already in the process.People should spread the word.

After mempool has too many unconfirmed transactions and ask for higher fees, exchanges can apply high fees without let you know how much they will charge, as some people here already experienced it on coinbase. At least all of us in this forum should support and use a segwit address.

I have added links to all wallets so people don't get confused. Edge is apparently not available for downloading directly, people have to register for the beta. As for GreenBits, I've found two wallets and both added by the same company in Google play so I'm not sure which one I should link. Armory site is not being updated anymore so I may finish by linking to the releases page in GitHub.

I just enabled my new nano ledger s and I'd saw the segwit being enabled there and thank you for elaborating that. I'll start transacting soon with it and I have electrum wallet as well.
Are you really asking this? They do not want to lose money, that is why they are not using segwit wallets.
When the price of fees went as high as $50 each, a lot of "exchanges" considered about using segwit walelts.
The interest was lost at the next day, they are not serious, maybe they pay $50 for the fees, but they ask for $60 to the one who want to withdraw.

It might be a political statement. Most of the NYA companies did not support Segwit, but rather saw its activation on the network as part of a larger compromise. That compromise (Segwit2x) failed. In the end, Segwit is opt-in. No one is required to use it.
Coinbase and Bitmex both say they are working on adding Segwit support right now. People say "it only takes a couple days" but I suspect it's not so simple to switch to Segwit for some of the larger services.
The problem is not many services or shops offer to accept payment from SegWit addresses.
If they accept payment in Bitcoin, they don't have a choice whether the payment comes from a Segwit address or not. Segwit is backward compatible with the network.
Yes SegWit wallets are a good option for people who need to make a few transactions daily in Bitcoin. The problem is not many services or shops offer to accept payment from SegWit addresses. For the moment it is a mess up as the fees are extremely high in Legacy bitcoin network, I tried to send 0.016 bitcoin and it asked me for about 22 dollars fee, worse than the banks.
