I said I needed to sell. Not panic. But if I had waited like 10 more minutes I'd have 500 more lol.
Just curious... Why'd you need to sell?

Need to pay bills

But why you didn't sell earlier when it was above 100 if you already planned to do it=

I can prove that not a single person has traded optimally the past couple of years.

The optimal strategy for my join date of June 2011 would have been to buy at $2 in Nov 2011, sell at $266, rebuy at $50, and sell at $165.  If so, an initial investment would return 43,900% ROI. If you'd bought $100 worth of bitcoins at $0.01 and sold at $32, in addition to the above, you'd theoretically have $140,448,000, but in reality you'd have put a damper on both the rallies and the crashes and would "only" have around $50 million.  Since the peaks and valleys weren't dampened, we can conclude, and draw comfort from, the fact that not a single solitary person has traded optimally in the past two years.  QED.

Compare that to the traditional world of investing, where in the best of all possible years to start investing for retirement vs. year to withdraw for retirement, this NYtimes graph shows that 8.4% annual return was the best possible return since the investing class of 1920:
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/01/02/business/20110102-metrics-graphic.html

8.4%/year for 20 years is about 500% ROI, which you'd get if you invested in bitcoin anytime before February 1 2013, and sold now @$100.

Bitcoin has actually functioned as a damn good savings account.  Sure, not everyone can "retire" at once, so to speak, but for those that have needed to cash out their coins, they've been able to do so at >$100 most of the past month.  That's really quite impressive.

If I had all the coins at their most highest value, yes I would have had about 1 mil. But I sold, I fucked up, I profit.

Generated all and not feeling sorry for selling when needed at 2. Now I have very very few, maybe 10%. That's life, all goes back in the box.

If I recall correctly, at best time I had 50,000 and at the worst 10,000.

That's my story.

LE: If one day I will still have coins and their value will be higher than I need, I will use the surplus to do things. I think of helping some children in Africa /Asia or poor countries. Having tons of plans (detailed, on paper, dreams) but lacking funds and other's help.

Well, my top has been 200~ coins with my first in May last year.. I sold my last chunk at 27$ waiting a correction.  Grin  Grin In the game since the 50$ and recovering.
At least I learnt to not mess up. As I was a long time bull, but I just thought that was gonna be a correction to 20$, and I wanted more coins.  Grin
I bought some things also. Thanks for sharing it.  Wink

I like you can still laugh with it Smiley

I'm sorry man. I'm sure you'll do much better in the future.

Define rich

Not really rich, but I supposed that you would had a stack to sell at current or high prices to get at least 1 million.. And having that in cash, is in someway being rich. At least in that very moment.
Of course, I'm a eighteen years old student and I don't have a lot of money. If you have a good work or your business, obviously you consider the term rich much higher, as I would.

The real question is why didn't you sell when we were at 120-140?

Oh, I did sell. I did also at 160. But I bought back at 120
