In order to gain actual profits, you have to sell or spend your coins. I have been holding my coins since the price was sitting below the $300 level. If you look at the current price, it may look like a huge profit (which it on paper also is), but it doesn't hold any value in this case as the coins are still in cold storage. It's basically the same when the price goes down -- you only lose when you sell your coins. It makes sense, right?
