sorry, i don't mean to offend anyone, and while i do admit apple is great with design.. they want to tell you what to like, what to want. i feel like a sheep enjoying their products. and they all look the damn same. still better than most android phones.. at least aesthetically.

Apple is an amazing company, I am using Microsoft product right now but I am in love with how innovative Apple has been during the past decade alone. I didn't actually know how good they were until I started watching their keynotes recently and I was so impressed by everything they came up with, just blew my mind. Basically evertyhing they came up with Microsoft has copied into their own OS, search bar, 'Libraries', App Store, Tablets, lots more examples but I'm done, they are my favorite company now.

Its more of a threat to PayPal, and particularly the merchants that make the payment transaction hardware.

I agree with that guy.
It will be just another paypal-clone that can be used on iOS devices easily.
Bitcoin does not apply to the same people as paypal does / iBeacon will.

@beet

Exactly the kinds of things you think about when valuing a company's shares.  You want to know if they are under/over valued -- not necessarily if they like btc or not.  Unless, you feel that truly impacts their fundamentals.

if i had apple stock, i would have sold a long time ago.. they don't really have anything interesting coming down the pipeline, and they hardly spend any money on investing. seems like they just have a lot of cash on hand. that's a sign that they are starting to get fat and bloated. i can't really think of anything revolutionary that they will come out with, or any service that would do well.

I was under the impression that after the IPA all stock in existence were owned by investors.  Unless, the company issues more of course.  This means that selling the stock doesn't really "hurt" AAPL -- if that is the intention of the post.

If the intention that AAPL (the stock) will become less valuable based on not supporting BTC, there may be something to that. _Only_ in the sense that it (the company) will not take part in growth of BTC currently.  It isn't "exposed" to risk or gains of BTC.

All that being said, I'd bet someone would sell you an ipod for some BTC Smiley

Disclosure:  I do own a small amount Apple as a holding in a large cap divi ETF currently.  I don't own any products however, I don't happen to like them.  Many people do.

edit: bad spelling

let them do it. if apple is even trying to compete with bitcoin, it will end up losing.. and current users who want to use bitcoin will leave their platform.

This is good news.  Apple will compete with JPMorgan-coin which will compete with Google wallet which will freak out Visa/Mastercard/Paypal.  This will just legitimize mobile payments and lead to a mobile payments war.

It will be easy to win this war too: be first to co-opt bitcoin.

I totally agree, Viva la revolution!

I bet Paypal is the first to add bitcoin storage and conversion to their site.

That's a bit silly.  I don't see apple's technology and bitcoin fighting for the same market share.  Totally different products.  Not sure how it's a war against bitcoin o_0

1. Apple is going to push for their own online payment system, they are just killing any roadblocks or competition
2. They would rather have you use your credit card to purchase than bitcoins

Apple is trying to lock everyone out and has been a growing threat to Bitcoin.

Sell Apple stocks now!

Lol, cmon man, you can't suggest that people sell they're Apple stock over something like this. You have to remember that the majority of the world does not deal with crypto atm. It's way too early to make a statement like this.

Its more of a threat to PayPal, and particularly the merchants that make the payment transaction hardware.

Short the hardware stocks, transfer your gains to Bitcoin, retire to a beach hut with a leggy blonde on Monday, brunette on Tuesday, redhead on Wednesday, get drunk on Thursday - repeat.
