Business Of Bitcoin had sold its first ad spot(one sidebar for .35 BTC per month)! Still looking for more respected advertisers looking to drive targeted Bitcoin traffic to their websites. Looking for advertisers to fill our banner spot and for in text ads which convert very well as they are integrated with the post.

Thank you all for your insights! I have readjusted my ad cost to be .35 BTC per month. With this lower than average pricing I feel I can get reliable sponsors who recognize the opportunity for growth. Please PM me if youre interested.

Also try checking out bitads.net

100% bitcoin based and allows advertisers to bid for a share in the adspace. It's currently in BETA but 100% functional.

The top sites are currently earning around 2-6 BTC per month

I recently applied to Adsense but I've heard that due to the nature of Bitcoin traffic(Tor,Proxies) they can ban you for suspicious traffic. I don't want that kind of head ache. I also prefer the idea of working with a Bitcoin businesses that are looking to expand. Bitcoiners should be helping Bitcoiners, not google.

On that forum the guy proposes taking your monthly traffic and dividing by ten for a monthly ad rate. I don't think anyone is willing to pay 10BTC a month for advertising so how about 1BTC a month?

Probably not, a good adsense has a 5% CTR (click through rate) honestly looking at the charts with the BTC advertisement companies I don't think 5%, more like 1% if that. 1% of 10,000 is 100 * 0.50 = $50.

I think CTR will probably be lower, around 0.5%, because of the bitcoin user nature, very tech savvy, this is the most difficult crowd to advertise to.

I have a bitcoin information blog, haven't monetize it yet, but my bet is around 0.5% CTR.

Hope I'm wrong. Smiley

Yes, that is what most web sites see.  I am seeing about half that with Bitcoin sites but I think that is due to a lack of relevant advertisers.  Plan on 0.2% to start and maybe you can work your way up to 0.5% or a little more.  If you make it above 1% that would be a big accomplishment.

Hey Milly.

You have only one banner on the top of the page, right?

If you add one ad at the bottom of the page, above or below comments, and one sidebar ad above the fold, I'll bet you'll see better results.

If you want to be a little more aggressive in-content ad usually gets the best results.

Interest based ads in Adsense may compensate lack of advertisers, but I haven't made any tests in this niche...

Hello guys,

I'm not sure you're right with price above (1 btc is very expensive for a month) actually it depends on a lot of factors, not only page view or uniq visitors...
I suggest you to search for CPM price (it's how much you can earn for 1000 ads displayed)... In my country (france) it's around 1.5 and 2.5 euros per thousand...
Or you can try with a partner who will be interest by cpl/cpa (mean you earn comission on sales or prospects)
But I guess you maybe know all that stuff...
Anyway we launch a new shop ( http://pixcoin.com ) btc stickers related... And we already own some blog/shops with more then 100k pages view by month, tested a lot of affiliation plateform, IMHO 1 btc / month is very too expensive for 10k UV and 30k PV (ie. : 30 x 1.5 = 45€ or 30 x 2.5 = 75€) but thing is that really few advertisers choose cpm ( or display) it's very expensive and most choose cpc or cpa/cpl

Cheers

Well I feel that sue to my blogs consistent and continuing growth any direct advertiser would be getting a deal by signing on for ad space now and then having their ad seen by thousands more visitors than they originally paid for. I have 3 spots still available.

That makes a lot of sense thanks for the information. Im gonna test out some adsense but I would still prefer just working directly with a business looking for ad space.

If your website becomes popular enough you probably can sell all your ad slots directly, till then you can fill them with ad networks...

http://codinginmysleep.com/monetizing-wordpress-just-got-better-easier-with-bitcoin/

This is the article I read that alerted me to the phenomenon although I'm not sure if the problem has been corrected or not. As I said, I recently signed up to adsense although I'd rather go to the Bitcoin businesses directly. Thanks for the information though!

I remember that article, I don't think that Google has any problem with Bitcoin, and you can see Adsense all over Bitcoin related sites.

What might happened is that someone put Adsense on a Bitcoin related site and didn't even read the program policies, and wrote about satoshidice, poker, bitvisitor and related, and all these things go against Adsense policy, and the general paranoia persecution of the bitcoin community made them think that Google treats bitcoin content differently.

As far as I know there is no problem with that kind of traffic, and it will probably be very small.

You cannot have traffic from traffic exchanges or paid to click traffic.

Read full policy here: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/48182?hl=en

There are many bitcoin businesses advertising on Adsense, the keyword competition is low to medium with bitcoin related searches and cost per click can be as high as 10 euros.

The price of the ad will depend on it's location, not all locations worth the same.

Some only bitcoin ad networks:

You can use a popular ad network like Adsense on your website, then based on how much each ad is making you got your pricing, and if you want to sell ad space directly you should build a media pack.

For managing ads, you can use DoubleClick for Publishers Small Business, where you can integrate several ad networks, create personalized ads, ad segmentation, and many other cool features, or you can install a plugin for managing your ads on Wordpress.

Sorry no NSFW stuff although I appreciate the inquiry! Hypothetically how much would you be willing to pay for an ad?

No problem! I still might be able to use it for something else.  To be honest I have no idea! Wink lol
