If you cant prove ownership by signing bitcoin message than there is no prove that the account is yours, there will be a chance that someone might be claiming it in the future

only way to prove ownership is via having previously posted a bitcoin address on the forum right?

i will try and think how else to prove hmmm

he already said that he cannot prove ownership.

The only reliable way to prove ownership is to get a signed message from a old address associated with the account. Any other way will involve looking at proof from something that is likely easier to hack then a bitcointalk account.
