Really want to make "hashing wall art" with these 36 BE's I have firing away... a pi with a slick case and cool display is basically what I'm talking about

OP has beautiful product / obvious skills / would love to make something beautiful / cool / fun out of all these BE's when they become obsolete soon.

It could be done! I know i'm on the same page, I'm working on building my wall of miners.

PiMiner's are nice because they're extremely low power, and the USB Asic's are as well.. They just mesh so well together.

I think you have an extra "x" at the end of your address, idk if it was intentional for some reason or another but I thought'd I'd let you know Smiley

Oh my goodness! Thankyou so much for finding that! I must have fatfingered a key on that line by mistake when writing the post. Thankyou =)

Where's the case from?  Didn't see it on adafruit.  I like the buttons  Smiley

The case isn't from adafruit, it's from a specialized Laser CNC Vendor that I use. BTS is the name of the company.

Would you be able to also get this to work with the ASIC Blades? Having to use a PC to run a python script for them right now but If I could get this i would prefer to do so. Also looks awesome!

Yeah I'm pretty sure it would work with the ASIC Blades. I don't personally have one to configure and test with. If you were able to ship me one, I'd be happy to offer a significant discount on a PiMiner for allowing me to certify the hardware and build a base image for it's use.

Hey GekTek,

Sorry but no trades welcome. As for your questions. It comes with everything you need to start mining with 1 USB Asic. If you want to Mine with more USB Asics, you would need a USB Hub.

I have 2 DLINK hubs (link below) that seems to work quite well:
http://www.amazon.com/D-Link-Hi-Speed-7-Port-Powered-DUB-H7/dp/B00008VFAF/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376789995&sr=8-1&keywords=dlink+7-port+usb+hub

I want to note, raspberry pi is not compatible with USB 3.0 hubs that aren't USB 1.1/2.0 compatible. So make sure you buy a hub compatible with the Pi!

As for a Keyboard/Mouse, you only need them for initial setup. HDMI Cable isn't needed but for initial setup as well.. Once it's up and running, you can remotely administer it via SSH, and even then, you shouldn't need to do that since it's designed to work from initial setup and start automatically on reboot.

Thank you thank you for all the info! Savin muh pennies and following the thread. Hoping to be a customer soon Cheesy

Sounds good! Look forward to it =)

Nice!  How many hubs would work off of this for the USB Erupters?
Moonlightminer63 Wink
I personally have had 10 running, don't have the available ASIC's to test more with.

I want to mention it's not compatible with USB 3.0 devices that aren't backwards compatible with USB 1.1/2.0 protocols. You have to buy a USB hub (2.0 recommended).

10 Erupters or 10 hubs?

10 Eruptors.

Unfortunately all of my Hub's are USB 3.0, and aren't backwards compatible with USB 1.1/2.0. I have 2 DLINK 7 port hubs that I have tested both daisy chaining, and individually connecting from the Pi and both work great.

Let me also mention, the Pi is capable of running BitFury's 400 Gh/s Units... So in this scenario, it's more than capable of handling multiple Asics (There are some out there running 24 port circular USB Hubs with PiMiner's and it runs flawless.

This does not include an HDMI Cable, mouse/keyboard, or USB Hub.

I'm new to the Pi world but would like to get in Tongue I like what you have going here but small noob question. You say it does not include the above items...besides the USB Hub for adding additional Erupters...are the HDMI Cable and mouse/keyboard NEEDED for operation or is this beast fairly self sufficient...as that is the point right?

Also, on the USB Hub note...how big of a hub/how many Erupters can this bad boy handle?

Thank you for your time!

P.S. Its a long shot but might you be interested in a few 7950s as a trade for one of these units? Perhaps a low end desktop pc that I have been 'thinking' about selling for around the $350 price range anyway? Like I said...a long shot but as long as I have your attention thought I'd ask ;P
