In a sweet twist to digital currency, Walmart is offering bitcoins made of chocolate. The treat, which is manufactured by Frankford Candy, is 1.42 ounces of milk chocolate, according to reports.

“Lots of Milk Chocolate + Bitcoins = Pure happiness,” the candy company, which was founded in 1947, wrote in a tweet about the product.

The candies, which are a take on the foil-wrapped chocolates of the past, are a bit more reasonable than the price of an actual bitcoin. In December, the popular cryptocurrency reached nearly $20,000. Since then, the cryptocurrency has dramatically fallen: The price of bitcoin was $6,456.68 as of 9:19 a.m. this morning (Sept. 13), according to Coindesk.

In terms of companies seeking opportunity with cryptocurrency, the well-established chocolate company is hardly the first firm to brand product with such a theme. Long Island Iced Tea Corp, in particular, changed its name to Long Blockchain Corp. (As a result of the rebrand, the company saw its stock surge). According to Reuters, shares increased 300 percent after the company announced it is rebranding itself as Long Blockchain, and that it is focusing its business on blockchain technology.

The company said that it was in the early stages of looking at specific opportunities to grow the blockchain side of its business. It also plans to maintain its beverage business, in which it sells Long Island Iced Tea and Long Island Lemonade, noted the report.

With the 300 percent increase in its shares, Long Blockchain’s market value went from $23.8 million to $92 million as of the close of trading on December 20, 2017. Other small companies that are announcing blockchain businesses also reportedly saw their stock prices surge. This trend is reminiscent of the dotcom boom, when any company that tacked on a .com to the end of their name was sure to get a lift in their shares.

It can create awareness if someone posted a poster about  accepting bitcoin as mode of payment. Most of people have characteristics of being curious where they want to know what it is, I also have a business proposal where I will create a retail store where customers can use bitcoin in terms of mode of payment. The awareness will not start easily if we are just sitting and not doing anything. We can create and spread awareness by promoting especially by word of mouth.

but at least if a store provides many payment methods people will be more interested and make it easier.
maybe by making a poster that the store accepts bitcoin, then bitcoin users who stop in can use it and if new people might grow their curiosity.

Oh and yeah I knew coins.ph is popular in PH but I didn't know it was THAT popular till everyone uses it. I know you just want ease of business but I'm almost 100% sure once people get used to the idea of better wallets they're in complete control of, they might consider switching to a wallet that doesn't have your private keys! I know it doesn't make much of a difference to the consumer, but a little bit of Bitcoin knowledge goes a long way. Cheers!

Using promos will also promote bitcoin or even stir curiousity to those who do not know bitcoin. People who knows bitcoin will probable love the idea and will definitely buy your milktea because of the promo as well as because they also knew someone who knows bitcoin and is willing to accept bitcoin as a payment on a product. Good job that you choose an innovative idea to attract more people to your shop, but I am a little bit confused! Because as you said there are not many people aware of Bitcoin payment, so they may not interest to pay through Bitcoin for milk tea. You need to spread it widely so that more shop owners get interested to apply for Bitcoin payment in their shop! It will make bitcoin more famous in your area, it will also make people curious about what is bitcoin and how does it will works, curiosity will be the key for us to advertise it and make it widely known. Many people will adopt it, and will buy little by little until it will becomes their investment. I would love to franchise it soon if ever.

i dont think there will be a problem its only depend on the country where they plan to open it.

There are already country that accepted crypto currency and bitcoin as payment .

 Be partner of local exchange if you dont want to have a problem with price volatility, but if you really want to adopt it to use in your personal store accept bitcoin as payment and forget about the price volatility.

It would be a good payment option, but I wouldn't be optimistic if it would help in the success of your business. We need more HODLERS to have spenders.

That is a good way to promote Bitcoin. You can earn bitcoins there as long as there is a people who are willing to buy your product with the use of that kind of payment system. It can boost the awareness in your community because you are the first business who is willing to accept bitcoin as payment. Where country are you from?  Im from Philippines and mostly the Filipinos love milk tea and most of the student even me when we are hangout after the class we are buying milk tea. It's good to hear that you want to accept bitcoin goodluck to your busines hoping to have many customer will going to pay using bitcoin.

Just sell milktea to mall and and near school because that area have a lot of people so the bitcoin will be expose there.

With the enormous option of possible things we could do to attract market adoption, I like the way how you made it, but would it seem to be hard? Because if you are going to accept bitcoin in payment for small amount of a milk tea, more transaction fee is needed, plus, with the volatility of the market, do you ensure profits and returns in your business? Though, that isn't what is necessary, what is important that I like about what you did is the initiative to make these things possible.

Because there are still many people who don't know bitcoin yet, there are even some people who have never heard of bitcoin. This is
our job as a cryptocurrency community, have to be able to spread bitcoin around the world. But unfortunately for me I can't sell products
in the real world by accepting payments with bitcoin, because my country does not allow using bitcoin as payment.

This is a very challenging idea for a business. If you are prepared to face the risk of accepting Bitcoin especially the rates where sales will be definitely affected then there is no wrong in trying.
If I understand correctly, this will be a family business so it'll be best to think it over plenty of times and learning the market. Problems will definitely arise when you start accepting it but I guess you will learn by facing the consequences along the way as it is not every day you'll be accepting Bitcoin as payment anyway.

I'm not sure the OP's idea is effective, especially since BTC hasn't been adopted well in the city, but it doesn't hurt to try.  who knows with that, many people in your city are getting to know cryptocurrency and want to learn and use it.  the important thing to do it slowly as an alternative to fiat payments.  if possible then accept online and delivery orders, it's also effective if you want to use payments in cryptocurrency.

I think this is not to invest in Bitcoin but he only wants to sell milk and tea by way of payment using Bitcoin. maybe anyone can use this method, including you, but only the way and promotion is the difference because everyone to do the promotion will definitely never be the same and there will be different ways to do it.
