I'm hoping to find some illegals who look like me. I can lease them my ID for work, and they can then live with me and pay a meager 25% tithe for house, board, and the identity lease. The IRS might get suspicious if I'm working 5 jobs at the same hours, though. Grin

I wonder, though, why businesses don't just move plants to central America around safe communities and attract workers to these areas to meet their job demand and our demand for cheap, effective labor. Just change "Made in America" to "Packaged in America" (and many already do) -- most people probably won't even notice so long as it has that stupid American flag icon. What prevents, say, Honduras from becoming the most productive (per capita) nation in the Americas simply by nearly eliminating taxes and regulations so businesses move in? -- Uh, ignoring hurricanes for the time being...

The immigrants will save the American economy, not many people will acknowledge this potential. We need to make a special exemption to the minimum wage for 'illegal immigrants', other wise known as persons without proper documentation, and tweek some other requirements and this big fear about immigration will become a blessing in disguise, economically.

How do you think developing countries grow so quick? Cheap labor is key.

Clearly you do not live in America or recognize of the political gift system works in America.  Once you're in the country you're considered American by some.  Once you're American you're entitled to everything all other Americans are ENTITLED to.....uh oh, I said the E word.

Wow, what an ignorant perspective!

You think Native Americans were savages? Living off the land, killing what they need to eat, enjoying this world. If you think they were savages words must not exist for what we are today.

Today our highest organizations kill people for the most frivolous of reasons without even standing face to face with honor in front of those they dare to battle.

I hope you don't have any kids, your attitude doesn't need to be passed on, it isn't productive to anyone.

Native Americans went to war with other tribes and killed each other just like every other society. They certainly weren't any more "Savages" than the White Man but I wouldn't say they were better or worse either. They were typical humans with less technology.

Yes. Not sure why people need to feel sorry for the losing side when they were doing the exact same thing to other.

Not to mention the menial jobs which illegals do. If you get rid of illegals, look forward to prices on everything skyrocketing. You also don't mention the taxes which they pay (property tax in the form of rent and sales tax on purchases).

Also, being illegal, they don't receive any benefits, such as unemployment or medicare. Tell me where these "billions spent on illegals" are being spent?
No. Rent is not property tax. Rent is rent.

But many of them do pay personal income tax. I haven't looked it up in a while, but the last time I looked it up, it was a couple million people who had filed with an ITIN. As I understand it, however, the IRS has imposed some restrictions on ITIN filings within the last year or so that would likely disincentivize undocumented workers from filing a tax return. It would be interesting to see if ITIN filings have dropped despite immigration numbers going up.

It isn't. Widespread abuse is a myth, especially for SNAP.
You are delusional and out of touch with reality. There is no point trying to talk to people like you.
Undocumented workers can't receive SNAP benefits unless they have stolen a SOC number. Less than 5% of snap benefits are used by non citizens. ~1% of snap benefits are traded and or are fraud related. Abuse is a myth.
In most states illegal immigrants can't receive Snap Benefits, however in my state over $500 million is paid yearly in welfare benefits to those that are here illegally, in a state that is already, billions in debt.

Those that come here illegally, often have children, who are US born, and then the parents receive benefits on their behalf. In this case the illegal immigrants receive full benefits based on the size of their family.

Your only focus seems to be on welfare benefits here though, how much money do you think it costs this nation to provide schooling and medical care for illegal immigrants?

Stop using branwallets
warfare protects everyone in the country from external threats, and tends to benefit the lower class the most as most people in the lower ranks of the military are from less wealthy families and they will receive additional pay during times of war (hazard pay, ect).

I don't think that dying or getting your legs amputated by IEDs qualify as benefits.  Wouldn't it be nice if we spent that money on education instead so that those poor people had a third option besides joining the marines or working at walmart?

‘Our Neighbor Isn’t Doing Its Part’
The president of Honduras on why the United States and its drug habit are to blame for the violence and kid immigrants fleeing Central America.

Quote
Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández came to Washington this week with just about the toughest hand a world leader can play: His tiny, impoverished country is both very dependent on what happens here in the United States and more or less without leverage to shape it. The only leverage, in fact, that Honduras and its small, equally troubled neighbors Guatemala and El Salvador have found recently has come in the form of small children, tens of thousands of whom have clambered over the U.S. border this year in numbers so large and so unexpected they’ve created an immigration crisis that, at the least, has succeeded in placing Central America’s plague of drugs, violence and poverty on the Washington agenda in a way it wouldn’t have been otherwise. That said, it’s still not clear what, if anything, will come of the new state of affairs—at least not when it comes to Honduras, so deadly that its city of San Pedro Sula has been dubbed “the murder capital of the world” and so politically troubled that Washington hardly blinked when its elected president was toppled in a coup a few years back.

So in part, the failure of the drug war has plenty to do with this immigration wave. And, it's the cartels that are the transporters and god knows what else they did to these children along the way.

More than 200 illegal immigrant children housed (AKA dumped) in Indiana

Quote
Indiana residents have accepted more than 200 of the unaccompanied Central American children who have recently shown up on the U.S. border — creating confusion among state officials and stoking passions on the immigration issue.

State Sen. Brent Steele, R-Bedford, criticized President Barack Obama’s immigration policies Thursday, and caused a mixup when he sent out an email to constituents claiming no “illegal aliens have been dumped in our state.”

Steele cited the office of Gov. Mike Pence as his source. Christy Denault, a spokeswoman for Pence, clarified that the federal government pledged to notify Indiana if it intends to set up a “detention center” here.

So far, no such facilities have been established in Indiana, but some children have been sent here to live with “sponsors” while they go through deportation proceedings. The sponsors often are relatives or family friends.

Shortly after Steele’s email was sent, the Associated Press reported that new federal government data indicated that Indiana sponsors have received 245 of the more than 30,000 children released to sponsors this year through July 7.

In at least one other state, Mississippi, the governor criticized the federal government for placing children with sponsors without notifying state officials, according to the Associated Press.

The US economy would collapse almost overnight without illigal workers doing jobs nobody else would take. In fact VICE just released a short documentary on this exact topic a few days ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXUdozfL7iM

I have a hard time understanding how you could be so ignorant of fundamental things happening right in your own back yard.
I doubt the US economy would collapse. WIth a smaller supply of workers, labor costs would likely rise, however unemployment, and the number of people marginally unemployed is high enough so that wages would not need to rise a lot.

Loose lips sink sigs!

going back a five hundred years ago in the USA - the place was teeming with savages and white settlers living in tents and hovels with the USA owning fuck all money !!

back in the old days of red injuns and savages, people had shitty sanitation and had to shit in a hole in the ground out the back of the house in a freezing wooden box, even the ladies

the fashion trends were really shitty, folk had to dress up like cunts

the US was at constant war with red injuns, or the mexicans, or the brits, or themselves for hundreds of years, with veterans getting fuck all for losing their legs, not like now

From a culture of immigrants to a culture of invaders XD
Then and now its the same only this time the immigrants are entering the USA's native lands and do not have weapons to back them ^^.
Although it is true for a nation that is supposedly wealthy many of its citizenry are not.

Anyways the problem isn't welfare per se its the way spending is used
Most going to prescription medicines and how doctors are paid by referrals more or less the real problem is the lack of money spent into preventative health care and reducing the burden of these expensive diseases like cancer diabetes and the sort instead of trying to delay their onset as long as possible.

warfare could actually make us less safe. you probably think terrorists hate us just because they are crazy, but it's not that simple.

Agreed! How safe are the people of Israel and Palestine tonight?

You're right that these statements don't make you racist, they make you ethnocentric.

(And technically the people you're referring to, those coming over illegally in volumes are Americans. All of the land From Canada to Patagonia is "America" - North, Central, and South. We're all American...)

We've welcomed people from all over the world, our nation is built on the backs of immigrant workers, we live in peace and harmony with one another, different races and different cultures, we have accepted and embraced them as our own, Americans.

Now our nation is trillions of dollars in debt, with millions of Americans living below the poverty line who rely on government assistance to survive, veterans who fought for our country are dying for lack of care from the government and people they fought to protect, and our school system is failing due to lack of funding, this is not the time for our nation to add more burden to its weight, this is not the time to welcome people who enter in our nation illegally and spend billions of dollars caring for them.

This view does not make me a racist.

I have friends from every race, nor do I care the races of those that enter our country illegally.

I believe in one thing, and that is to do what is right for this nation and its people, and spending billions of dollars, money that we have to borrow to spend, in aid to illegal immigrants is not good for our nation.

Our efforts and financial resources must be focused on improving the lives of our own citizens first, not those who come from other countries, illegally.

Americans First.
