Done through main domain. I have played around with 301's but just can't get em to work consistently so I have dropped it all together.
All of my methods are working after Panda and Penguin.
There was a major "re-shuffle" this weekend and a few sites were affected.
It was really strange, as there was no consistency as to what sites were hit.
Some ultra white hat sites were hit Hard. Some ultra spammy blackhat sites rose up to the first page of Google. Some sites are ranking top on Google for very competitive keywords with less than 5 backlinks.
Others remained unmoved and some saw massive increases.
Strangest update ever, but we will see what happens after the dust settles.
If you are concerned with this, I suggest you go with the Pure White Hat packages and you will have 100% peace of mind.

Sure I can share some.
The most common theme I am discovering with all of my clients / potential clients is questions regarding on page optimization.
General overview tips:
1. Make sure the keywords you are trying to target are in your title description - preferable as close to the beginning as possible. For example: Bitcoin ASIC | Butterfly Labs | "Call to action words"
2. Same thing when it comes to your meta description, though try not to copy your title description
3. H1 title, Again use a variation of your keywords. For example: Best and Most Efficient ASIC's to Mine your Bitcoins. Do not copy title or meta description
4. Make sure to correctly tag your images using alt
5. Have 500+ words of content on the page you want to SEO. Google does not know much what your page is about if you have 30 pictures and 100 words. Thus they do not rank well
