I just read your essay in response to "My Diagnosis."
I think you hit your stride as you go along. But the poster above who quips about run-on sentences has a point.
Sometimes you use too many clauses. Since French literature is full of long sentences and your account name is a French phrase, perhaps you are a student of the language?
Also, I had to laugh when reading the gender critique of the DSM in your essay since all of the replies here have used the third person masculine form when referring to your work.

I am a big fan of French literature, yes, but just because a sentence is long does not mean it's a run-on. That's something that's literally never been brought up by any of my professors, so I'm not very concerned with that "critique." As for the gender thing, let's just say that not all feminists are female, but most of them are.

All I'll say is that some people are okay with foregoing that opportunity, and I'm here for them.
But, then again, there are also time when circumstances aren't conducive to being able to write a big essay, such as when someone unintentionally takes too large a course load, and would rather have a little academic dishonesty over a failing grade. (Plus, I get the extra benefit of learning the subject matter myself!)
