Good Evening,

I just received my miner today.  YEAHHHHH.  Now the set up part is killing me.  Cgminer keeps getting hung up.  I have tried to the troubleshoot, but I still see trouble.  Assistance please.

When I go through the process of hooking up my miner, ethernet, to my computer, and change the IP address.  I cannot access the miner.  Any thoughts?

Follow all the instructions at the beginning of this thread.

I did.  When I connect my miner to my laptop, after the configuration, and attempt to log in, I get a black screen and then no connection.

Did you do this step?

If you are using the Microsoft Windows 7, here is the step by step process to configure your AntMiner.

Start Button  >>  Control Panel  >>  Network and Internet (View network status and tasks)  >>  Change adapter setting (Left side of the screen)  >>  Local Area Connection (Double Click)  >> Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then Click on “Properties”  >>  Select Use the following IP address:

Please look at near the cooling fan on the AntMiner.  You’ll find a white sticker with an IP address printed on it.  (Example: 192.168.2.125)

Set your computer's IP address to the following:

IP Address: 192.168.2.254
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.2.1

For the DNS Setting:  Select “Obtain DNS server address automatically

You should do a reboot after doing this.

I did change the ip address.  I did reboot.  When I put in the miner address, i get a "LuCI - LUA Configuration Interface" message.  The message stays on the screen for a couple of seconds, then "ie says page cannot be displayed"

If your getting the message then your hitting the server on the miner...the miner is just not responding.

Which web browser are you using and what are the settings.

Another thing is that you need to change your comp back to dynamic ip address settings.

I am using the latest IE.  I did change the computer back.  Now when it is hooked up to the router, I have no problem logging in.

Ok but cgminer is not working.

Your not mining through a proxy are you?

Yeah. I changed a couple settings and could figure out what was going on, so I hit the reset button and power cycled and started over.

Did the reset, and I still get the same black screen

It's probably going to be a pain in the ass, but the easiest way to do this is to connect the miner to the router via ethernet cable, login to the router on your computer, get the ip address from the router, and put the ip address into your browser.

Can you log into the miner that way?

When the miner is hooked up to the router, I have no problem logging in, through the browser.  I have all of my settings, but then I get this error:

Wed Jan 15 20:25:27 2014 daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: bad address '3.openwrt.pool.ntp.org'
Wed Jan 15 20:25:27 2014 daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: could not resolve peer 3.openwrt.pool.ntp.org, skipping
Wed Jan 15 20:25:57 2014 daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: bad address '2.openwrt.pool.ntp.org'
Wed Jan 15 20:25:57 2014 daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: could not resolve peer 2.openwrt.pool.ntp.org, skipping
Wed Jan 15 20:26:27 2014 daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: bad address '1.openwrt.pool.ntp.org'
Wed Jan 15 20:26:27 2014 daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: could not resolve peer 1.openwrt.pool.ntp.org, skipping
Wed Jan 15 20:26:57 2014 daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: bad address '0.openwrt.pool.ntp.org'
Wed Jan 15 20:26:57 2014 daemon.info sysinit: ntpd: could not resolve peer 0.openwrt.pool.ntp.org, skipping
Wed Jan 15 20:27:01 2014 cron.info crond[576]: crond: USER root pid 3633 cmd /usr/bin/cgminer-monitor
Wed Jan 15 20:27:03 2014 daemon.info sysinit: Alarm clock

I went to the troubleshoot and attempted to use those 4 addresses.   I still get those errors.

When it is hooked up to the computer, it gives that previous error, when i put the miner address in the browser.  Black screen and those letters.

What IP are you trying to log into? What's the IP of your computer/router? Are you directly connected?

I am trying to log into the miner.

192.168.2.254 computer.

I am directly connected to the computer.

Before I added this AntMiner, I was running 4 BFL units off a netbook. The netbook has an ethernet port and a wireless adapter. Is there any way that I can connect the Antminer to my wireless network through my netbook? I'm not sure if it would be more reliable, but this would solve my current problem.

assuming you get an internet link through the ethernet, you should be able to use windows to 'bridge' the connections. to do so:
go to network settings page where it shows all the connections (should show lan, wireless, any usb modems, etc)
click/highlight both the wired and wireless that you want to bridge, and right click -> bridge connections
this should push the internet connection through the netbook to share with the bridged device.

I have something similar in my network right now since my cable line is down for a few days (and 800GH of equipment needs a connection!)
cell Phone- tethered via USB - USB port - Bridged with wired connection - ethernet to router's WAN - router provides LAN to equipment

the only issue is that the bridging does not let me visit the ip addresses of equipment on the router. to do this, i use the computer's wifi to connect to the router and thus see all other connected devices.

Bridging the connections worked as well.

For me WiFi issue was solved. Switched WAN to DHCP and after reboot miner uses WiFi.

Hi guys
i'm stuck with WiFi settings Sad

I've created WWAN interface with WiFi in "Client" mode and enabled DHCP. Assigned it to firewall zone wan.
Once i power on Ant with unattached ethernet cable, i can see in my router console that Ant connected via WiFi and has IP 192.168.1.95, but nothing works (ssh/ping/Luci webpage).
If I attach ethernet after few seconds it's recognized by router with default ip 192.168.1.99. Then everything works from both IPs (ssh/ping/Luci webpage)
If i simply deattach ethernet, it falls down again, BUT if i first stop WAN interface from console, Ant switches to WWAN, and works perfectly.

i checked iptables and it seems that for each wan interface the same rule was added for wlan0.
Do i need to add static routes or something else?

I had your EXACT same problem (even the same static IP .99 lol) and I found out the solution:

  • Ensure your WiFi settings are 100% correct
  • Edit the WAN settings to use DCHP instead of static IP. So now wireless and LAN are BOTH setup for DCHP
  • Restart without lan cable plugged in, and within 2-3 min it should start mining.

This worked for me. I'm not sure why this works, but it works. It could be that it's re-writing the full config file again, and if this is the case, you can later revert the WAN settings back to static. I haven't tried this to confirm the ACTUAL problem. I only found the solution.

By the way, i tried to push it further and changed asic frequency to 425. Obviously very low temps don't help OCing in this case, i've got a lot of HW errors and unstable 190-200 hashrate. Returned back to 400 now.

Just checked, this worked for me. Can log in wirelessly, held the setting through a power cycle, no issues.

In theory, a Corsair AX 1200 is capable of powering 3 Antminers @ 180GH/s each.

Has anyone done this in practice for any length of time ?

Yes, but not overclocked. Separate modular PCIe connectors for each blade. (I think the PSU only ships with 4 but you can get more or retrofit a MB connector)
