Blockchain is indeed a useful invention in certain scenarios with large of potentials. For the employees because Blockchain offers one of the highest paying jobs today and for society because Blockchain is changing the face of online transactions and sensitive data storage. also blockchain is useful mostly in cases where you don’t trust the other party in the transaction, or where fees and services are expensive and slow. and in my opinion those who work with security (the most important of our daily life) already realize that it's vastly more cost effective to use blockchain rather than traditional ways.

Finally i would to say in the blockchain atmosphere I think bitcoin is the king, because the people working on altcoin chains are bound to be very smart and will realize blockchain technology is best suited to 'one chain to rule them all' and eventually migrate to the strongest decentralized chain in future where bitcoin is still vastly ahead of anything else.

Started to see many ads on the web related to blockchain course so it is happening but still government doesn't recognize it applications?
Yes, there were more ads popping up to promote courses related to blockchain. Many countries have begun to provide courses on blockchain, in recent days Philippines have got increased number of courses through different universities. Now blockchain is getting more recognition from governments, and now this has happened with China.
OP you missed the self driving cars.Which is the most expected technology to be developed and will come into use by 2020.
Self driving cars are going to make a change, already this is under testing. There arose a controversy of self driven cars, as one of the car on testing failed to stop. Hit a women and she died, further it lost its importance. Now once again on testing it was found successful. Somehow it takes years to get a full-fledged functioning on the cities.

I hope more people will get to know about Blockchain technology in near future. People have certainly some idea about the other trends that are indicated on the first post but not so many people know about Blockchain.
Basically there are reasonable numbers of people who understand the word Blockchain but have never heard of cryptocurrency. From OP list, by 2020 Blockchain will become common with the people alongside with cryptocurrency, this will drastically enlarge the coast of digital currency across the length and breath of the globe.

The only trend accessible for us commoners is the Blockchain Technology, because everything about it is public and open source, while all the others have property codes and are developed in teams in big companies, study and develop such technologies would have a bigger barrier.

So the blockchain technology is the most promising if you are not in a computer science course or something.

The technology that would benefit Blockchain technology the most would be 5G networks. We know some 3rd world countries sometimes skip a generation in some technologies, so it would be great if the implementation of 5G networks would catapult them into using Blockchain technology and better payment options.

I cannot see that Artificial Intelligence as a Service or Autonomous Driving and Personalized and Predictive Medicine or Computer Vision and Extended Reality would make a difference to Blockchain technology.  Roll Eyes

I agree that 5G will be the key for further development of many technologies including blockchain. But there are lot of security questions related to it so it will be interested to see how everything will be implemented. And not all countries will be ready for 5G at the same time.
I wouldn't say that artificial intelligence can't be connected with blockchain technology. It's so wide area that is applicable to almost everything and in the future it will certainly have significant impact on everything.

i remember jack ma talked about revolutionizing supply chains with blockchains. and blockchains were supposed to disrupt the financial and healthcare industries among several others. it's been years since then. has anything ever come of it? i'm surprised it's still making the list at this point.
It's a gradual process. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day.

ok, but what about some proof of concept? or even a logical explanation as to how private blockchains are an improvement over databases? it's been years of this:

Bayer Crop Science has agreed to work with Ant Financial, the payments affiliate of Alibaba, to develop a blockchain-based system for agricultural product monitoring.

The companies signed a letter of intent to utilize blockchain technology to increase efficiency, improve the income of farmers, ensure the production of high-quality food and aid in the digitization of agriculture, according to a Sept. 25 announcement.

how is a blockchain more efficient and why would it improve the income of farmers? Roll Eyes

most of this blockchain hype is snake oil---companies are using it as cover to raise money and strike profitable business deals (see the "blockchain as a service" industry)......in several more years i think this sham will all fall apart.

It's a gradual process. After all, Rome wasn't built in a day. I remember how we nearly attained mass adoption in 2017 and how the rapidity of the Bitcoin awareness which spread like wildfire stunned even veteran members and sone community members here. Many started screaming  Bitcoin was a bubble. The movement was such a speed then. For me, I believe life is a gradual process and with time the blockchain tech will take its right place.

I am excited about predictive medicine too. It is going to be like a revolution in medicine. Predictive medicine is going to help decreasing the probability of disease and institute preventive measures to prevent the disease completely or it will help decreasing the impact of the disease.

AI and VR are going to be integrated in a lot of stuff and lay people generally know more about those, especially as AI technology is in all the smart type projects, like autonomous cars, smart devices for the home etc. Blockchain is a less evident type of technology, that apart form things like Bitcoin, etc people don't generally SEE the front end development of it in projects. They will notice more of it though as they download browsers like Brave etc and slowly evolve into decentralized Internet etc. I think Blockchain is still in its fairly early development and implementation phases, so there still room for some investing in this space.

Seven most imminent trends everyone should get ready for in 2020 by Bernard Marr. Blockchain technology too got its place secured among the list.

  • Artificial Intelligence as a Service
  • 5G Data Networks
  • Autonomous Driving
  • Personalized and Predictive Medicine
  • Computer Vision
  • Extended Reality
  • Blockchain Technology

What you all think of these with comparison to the blockchain technology. Each and everything mentioned were completely associated with the technology based development and someway each gets associated with the other by some means.

As reading the list, I am trying to find the core which will help to implement these technology. That is the quantum computing, through quantum computing, blockchain technology will be even better, as well as other technology listed specially autonomous driving, and personalized and predictive medicine. I am just wondering if we can use quantum technology to compute transactions in blockchain even better. and how will the mining process could be affected with such great computing speed and power.

Actually, there is autonomous driving now but it is not in a perfect condition. If I am not wrong, Tesla has the best and safest autonomous driving system right now. I believe it will be improved more in 2020.

Blockchain Technology will be one of the most trends over the years, and we are always on the process of making this kind of technology to be essential to our modern times, just like 5G technology launch by Huawei, this brings people to much convenient way of living and I believe it will happen within couple of years.  The major problem connected to Blockchain Tech is the word Scam and Volatility that makes space between people and Blockchain.

I think compared to all the other technologies blockchain should be on the top, the reason is that if you look at all the the other you will see that they are only concerned with a specific field where blockchain is a revolutionary thing that can change all aspects of our interactions with each other and the world overall, from finance to medical to network ect...., and that is hwy i think it should be seen as a revolutionary thing and given the attention it deserves.

1. - this so called "AI" has nothing to do with real AI. it is just complicated neural network. it has no intelligence in the meaning we know and understand.
2. - more speed for internet on your mobile, interesting would anyone notice it?
3. -I wonder if they decided already who to blame if such autonomous car would kill a man in an accident?
3. - well if there were free and reliable medical insurance - that would be something everyone talk about.. not that abstractive bulls@it
4. - again, some tech, geeks will use only, same as VR
5.-  maybe good for some working areas
6. -  Roll Eyes Cool

Blockchain is the only thing on the list that most people really do not know to be fair. Most people, even those that are laymen in the tech world know of at least the possible existence of AI's and such. This should really place Blockchain technology on the forefront of the world and hopefully push people into believing in the effectiveness of it, thereby placing crypto as well into a favorable place which is really great news imo.
Are you saying blockchain technology is the only thing people are unsure about? I'd actually argue the opposite, we've only recently started to look into subjects like extended reality, computer vision, and only early this year have we implemented the pretty well developed technology known as 5g.

These are pretty accurate trends, we will definitely see a lot of innovations related to the tech industry, especially when it's blockchain-related - I hope to see a lot more adoption and government coins in the future.

Blockchain is a truly revolutionary technology and it is competitive with every trend on your list. I would single out Blockchain separately because it is intended to adapt different areas to decentralization, which some countries do not like in comparison with other points. This is not just a trend, it is a way to destroy the conservative and corrupt world.

Blockchain technology is necessary among the trends of 2020. Its implementation can be a key factor in overcoming corruption. In turn, I consider some points useless. Autonomous Driving is more designed to satisfy the vagaries of the wealthy than to anything that is extra needed.
