I just watched another movie about Julian Assange: Underground: The Julian Assange Story. This one is depicting his early career.

For Assange and WikiLeaks fans, I also suggest you the following movies:

Mediastan: A Wikileaks Road Movie - a WikiLeaks very own documentary - full movie
Risk - a WikiLeaks documentary, directed by Laura Poitras (a friend of Julian Assange) - full movie
The Fifth Estate - a great movie about WikiLeaks
We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks - yet another documentary about WikiLeaks.

I would like to recommend a Mexican movie called 'And your mother too.' in spanish 'Y tu mama tambien'

One of the main actors now acts for StarWars, and is fun to see him in his true Mexican Style.

In case, you'd like to watch some drama:
1. This is England (the story about oung skinheads in England in 1983, which illustrates how their subculture, which has its roots in 1960s West Indies culture, especially ska, soul, and reggae music, became adopted by the far-right, especially white nationalists and white supremacists, which led to divisions within the skinhead scene)
2. Black Swan (the story, where the ballet production requires a ballerina to play the innocent and fragile White Swan, for which the committed dancer Nina (Nataly Portman) is a perfect fit, as well as the dark and sensual Black Swan, which are qualities better embodied by the new rival Lily (Mila Kunis). Nina is overwhelmed by a feeling of immense pressure when she finds herself competing for the part, causing her to lose her tenuous grip on reality and descend into madness.
3. Mommy (the story concerns a mother with a sometimes-violent teenage son, struggling to control his behaviour in a hypothetical future in which parents have the legal option to commit troubled youth to public hospitals) - it was pretty hard to watch, but trust me, it's worth to do that!
4. I Killed My Mother (the story about the complicated relationship between a young man and his mother)

I know you asked for at least 2018 movies, a these ones are a bit older, however, the atmosphere shown is 100% unforgettable.

Babyteeth - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8399664/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Saw it yesterday and I'm pretty satisfied with this movie.

It is a story about a teen girl falling in love with a drug dealer.  I won't say more so there are no spoilers.

It is a simple movie at first glance, but it has a lot of layers and messages wrapped in what looks a simple story and a simple approach.

For me the way the film was delivered with not much explanations, but fragmentation and sequencing of the story, lets the viewer to learn about characters on its own. You get a chance to pose the questions and think about the answers on your own without anyone giving you a nudge in any direction.

There is coming of age aspect in the movie and it also very well done for certain characters which is another plus for this movie in my book.

Overall without spoiling too much it is a serious movie, not a comedy at all. There a re a lot of light moments and it is a bittersweet feel good movie if you are a positive person in general and have the ability to look on the bright side of life.

Asian movie
Shutter
The ring
Haunted Apartment

I've seen all the movies you posted above these (and Shutter as well) and most of them are good. About the quoted ones, what movie is "Asian Movie"? Is this a movie title? I looked for it, but couldn't find it...Can you post a link from imdb?

I'll also try to watch "Haunted Apartment", as I haven't seen it yet. But I think the name is different though. I found it with the name "Tales of Terror: Haunted Apartment". Is this the one?

I am watching the Breaking Bad series, which is a multi-part series that talks about a university doctor who suffers from cancer in the lungs, where he has several months in front of him until he loses life and during these months he seeks to collect the largest possible number of money to keep his family after his death. I advise you to watch and download this series From egebest

I just watched recently a movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal: Enemy. And I tried two more TV Series: Locke & Key and Warehouse 13. Both series are somehow similar to the three-episodes series The Lost Room, mentioned by me above, which is a must-watch.

Tenet was delayed again: the initial launch date was July 17th, 2020, then it was postponed for two weeks and not it should launch on August 12th, 2020. Let's see if this date will be the final one.

I just updated the Moviemaniacs Gang with all the contributors from last month. We have 16, reaching a total amount of 123 members in our gang! More details here.

I will share some movies to honor Korean cinema, list is not ordered by quality. All movies on the list are excellent movies.

It is a random mix and I believe you can find something that suits you at the moment from this list. If you want more Korean movies (I love Korean cinematography, even though the quality is a bit lower then 5-6 years ago, there are still good movies showing up) , or you liked the list and would like me to recommend more movies (not only Korean) ask for more, I shall provide Cheesy

Next, Knives Out which was released on 2019. It has also a great plot twist that would enable you to really think who is responsible for the murder. It has also an unpredictable flow of the story.

+1, really has some good twists, never gets boring and I had some good laughs from the irony, also great cast and all marvelous in their roles.

Didn't know Game Night and The Invisible Guest but will look for them, ty.

Here are a few more movies I've seen recently:

Hotel Artemis - dystopian thriller with a great cast

Ready or Not - don't watch it if you're going to marry soon  Grin  Seriously one of the better movies I've watched this year, love the role and play of Samara Weaving.

The Hunt - some nice twists and turns, you're not going to know where it is heading until the end, think it was mentioned in the WO thread when it came out.

365days - every minute watching this softporn nonsense was a total waste. I actually only watched it because it has upset our local women rights activists/feminists so much and I wanted to know what the fuss is all about. It's a bit like 50 shades of grey for millennials and even bad at that.

This one that I would recommend is a thriller/ mystery kind of movies. I found it so interesting and has a great plot twist that you should definitely must watch.

First is Game Night which was released last 2018. It has a good plot twist which is so uncommon and unpredictable, at the same time it was added with a comedy which makes it more interesting and a must watch movie. Don’t skip the credits part because it was a so good.

Next, Knives Out which was released on 2019. It has also a great plot twist that would enable you to really think who is responsible for the murder. It has also an unpredictable flow of the story.

Lastly, The Invisible Guest though it was released on 2016, I would really recommend this. It was my favorite of all because it has an amazing plot twist that would give explanation to the title. You have to pay attention to every scene because you’ll never know who is telling the truth.

If you want horror, I thing should go for this:
The grudge
The Ring
Poltergeist

All the movies of above and their sequels / remakes are very good indeed. For the horror fans I have to say though they the above titles represent actually more movies, as it follows:

The Grudge: it started actually with the Japanese movie Ju-on: The Grudge (2002), followed by Ju-On: The Grudge 2 (2003). These movies were followed by a Hollywood remake: The Grudge (2004), along with its sequels - The Grudge 2 (2006) and The Grudge 3 (2009). Another remake was launched on January 3rd, 2020, named also The Grudge.

The Ring: it also started with a Japanese movie, named Ringu (1998). This movie had a sequel - Ringu 2 (1999). The idea was taken then by Hollywood, which launched The Ring (2002) and The Ring Two (2005). The last part of this sequel - Rings (also known as The Ring 3) - was launched in 2017.

Poltergeist: this is another great horror movie, launched in 1982. A remake of this movie was launched in 2015.

I'd suggest to watch all of the above movies, including the Japanese versions. They'll worth your while Smiley

If you want horror, I thing should go for this:
The grudge
The Ring
Poltergeist

But if you prefer romance, I suggest you pick from movie adaptation of Nicholas Sparks book.

of course Bumping the thread since the world is coming to New Normal now and soon the Movie industry will be Bloom again.

Everyone just forget about the movie industry in this covid-19 pandemic and how much loss this industry has bear in all these months. Although the places and business are opening but I don't think Cinema and theaters will be opened anytime soon. Since there is a lot of gathering in cinema halls, they should not be opened in the current times.

Anyone suggests me a movie which was released in 2020 and is a block buster ?

Yes, that's the one! Very, very interesting plot and great play of the actors. Its mark is 8.2 on imdb, which means it is a really good TV show. Too bad that it has only one season though... I'm sure it would have a great audience in a new season.
It also makes me think why there are good movie but does not have a chance to be extended in series .

and there are also some that being extended like Spartacus after the main actor died while the truth is the Movie is not that Good(IMO)
