Because of being promoted to Full Member I’ve decided to bump this thread for the first time.

It was written less than two months ago when I got my first merit (precisely 4 of them). I think that reading it may be good for many frustrated and tired low ranked users who already lost their hope or those who are loosing it at this very moment, that they are able to rank up with this “Fu...ng merit system”…
Don’t loose hope guys! It’s really possible!

On the occasion of the next promotion - this time on senior member rank - I decided to make the second bump of this thread (especially since it is still current)

Thank you for the insight. I appreciate it. I think that contributing without thinking about merits is the way to go. ultimately, that's what will sustain the quality of bitcointalk in the first place. Even though I was impacted by the new rules, I can certainly see how the rules will increase the editorial integrity of the site in general. Especially from the low-level members.
Thank you for sharing.

It's actually really hard to get a merit per post, be a use of not so much users are ready to spend their time for reading at least one page of comments and to merit an interesting comment. Te biggest bercent of merits are going to topics creators by the same reason.

It's not hard to get merits. It's hard and tasking to make quality posts worthy of multiple merits.
Of course you can get merited for relevant, witty, helpful, or even funny replies.
It depends on the mood of the post.

Hard work never fails tho, Smiley

I am not really a well knowledgeable person about the crypto currencies so I am not interested much about in hunting the merits,I just keep posting what I can do then if someone found interesting they may merit me.But I am hoping that I got very better in my crypto knowledge than how much I know for a year before.Still learning because I am very slow learner. Lips sealed

Hope I am also can be a well knowledgeable person about cryptos someday. Smiley
Higher ranked members be more generous and encourage the users to by giving some merits if they got something interesting to read.

Quick question OP are you still doing your translation business (believing) it will pay more now as a full member Grin

Honestly since I started this topic i focused much more on forum itself than bounty business (i had to decide what is more important to spend my time on) so I did few translations but not to many. Unfortunately the rank doesn't affect the stakes for translations at all ;-( As I wrote in my first post in this translations business most important was the possibility to place images in post and Jr. Member (or Copper) rank is enough for this.

It's actually really hard to get a merit per post, be a use of not so much users are ready to spend their time for reading at least one page of comments and to merit an interesting comment. Te biggest bercent of merits are going to topics creators by the same reason.

Theoretically you've right but practically not always... You have to remember that content always remains most important factor - Of course if you prepare decent content and create new thread you probably get some merits but there are also dozens of threads where first post isn't rewarded with any merits and second, third or twenty fifth post got 10 merits. I got some merits both for starting posts as well as posts in others threads on third page or even on 270th page. So order is important but not the most...

This in my opinion is a really helpful bump Grin
And your merit case is a really enviable one,it really seems so unreal how many merits you've earned in such little time..
The merit system as you said is really frustrating to some, considering the fact that some posts go unnoticed, while some are not just lucky to get theirs seen, but definitely posting constant quality would earn one a merit sooner rather than later

<…> And Newbies trying to open multiple topics to finally some of them get merited.
This increases spam.
Thats all i can say.
No more for sure than all the mindless posting that often took place before the change of rules just to wave the signature around and comply with the campaign quota.

Merits sucks!!! People really not often give merits especially to Newbies. Probably they (senior users) start this system to give merits one to another .

I agree with this part.
Thats all i have to  say about it. Undecided

Im a demoted jr.member and im back in newbie rank until someone or a merit giver maybe noticed one of my post and gave me my first one.

Im not good in english, so hopefully you understand my post.
If me that's not good in english got merit i think all people can also get merit. Actually i didn't expect that i can get even only just one especially on the other section that the language must be english. Just belive in yourself, continue doing the right thing and you will be surprise what things can come to you.

I felt really blessed when i got my first one.
We have a great rule now, just see good side of it, it's for the forum sake. If it happened to me i believed that all people are able to get merit also.

I ever read in meta disscuss to have merit a newbie at least have 2xx activities, no required quality of post. Correct me if I wrong, for any help a ton of thanks for you

I'm not sure if I understood but if you ask: does a newbie need to have any activity before getting merit? The answer is no.
You can write only one post and if somebody finds it useful or meaningful or interesting  or well written etc. he could give you a Merit.
You also can have 200, 400 or even 1000 of activity, but without at least one good post you still have zero merit....

As you read, few days ago that was my thinking exactly...
Now 6 day later after writing single thread and pointing out my opinion in several other threads I've collected almost 30 Merits.

You know what's funny?
When I've read first time some guides about merit I though that it isn't for me. I'll stay with Jr. Member rank - that's enough for me.
Then the revolution came, so I need one single merit to be able to post images (what is important to me). That's why I've started to put some more effort to my posts...
When I got first merit my job was done, but... I found this merit  kind of fun and challege as well. So I've ranked to Jr Member than to Member and now I'm aiming to Full Member rank. 100 Merits is my actual challenge.
I'm not thinking that earning this amount will be easy but now I'm sure that is possible for me. And if it's possible to me it's also possible for you! So once again Don't loos faith! ;-)

I'm new in this forum, after I read this sort story, as a newbie I said thanks a lot. On 2016 I heard about bitcointalk.org forum with it fenomenal stories that can make someone get rich. So, I tried to register unfortunately I never success with the reason IP address ban.

From September this year I tried again and success but there are some rules changed than I know before.

You are a great boy. It is immediately evident that you wrote this post without inventing every word, you wrote it from the heart, from the heart. I want to add something. It's not at all important whether I'm an expert in some area or not, I just need to communicate in a human way, support the conversation, ask a question to the interlocutor if something is not clear. And even more importantly, you need to be able to listen to others and respect their opinions.

Thanks man nice to hear that!!!

1. The source of discussion forum is… discussion.
2. Users who can give merits reads many threads and they really do give merit if they found something interesting readworthy or useful.
3. You don’t really need do nothing extraordinary to get merit (of course i still think, that i was very lucky… probably I wouldn’t give myself merit for this post)

There is a key.
This post can be a starting position for all newcomers.

It's a pleasure to hear that, but I'm affraid you went to far...

Yes, I agree with the OP's comments and merit system for now seems to very important most especially for the once jr.member and now  a newbie including myself. For now, we don't have any choice but just have to accept the new rules of the admin in this forum wherein it has a much brighter impact on this forum in minimizing the people spamming the forum. Much better for newbies to continue in creating good postings so that this will be recognize and perhaps be merited someday. Believe in yourself as  you will get the desired merit you wish to have.

Giving merits based on a link is pointless. I gave you merits because I thought your post was interesting and constructive. (and most importantly, not spam)
...

I've really thought that you rather liked linked article than my post (so It's nice to hear that I was wrong)...

Anyway Thanks again for noticing my post and rewarding it.
