this topic appears to be posted last year so I am asking a permission to give my opinion. well, it is much better if you are going to buy only what you can afford so there will be only loss more or than a quarter of your $10k if ever the price goes down but if it goes higher then it will be great for you cause you already made a profit with just buying and holding a bitcoin.

Many old people like grandfather and grandmother didnt know what is bitcoin because I think they are not interested anymore on earning money. Some of the middle ages are not fan of using online money even using paypal they didnt want to use it.

Its nice to see satisfied people here, I wish you luck with trading, we have similar plans. I also learn about trading, I read about other people experience, I watch some tutorials, and its very hard. I still dont understand many things, and Im afraid to invest my bitcoins into something unknown. Its not an easy work to be a trader, I get dizzy when i take a look at all the numbers changing all the time, how to pick right moment in all that mess.
I believe in bitcoin just cause of people from here, if future brings just half of what people talking here bitcoin can be universal currency used by everyone, and price can be higher then anyone could imagine.

The problem is not too big yet, I am pretty sure that problem will be sort our in the future especially if the price will continue to increase. The miners are gonna benefit and will continue to operate profitably so they'll gonna help to have a wonderful community and to make the advocacy for every supporters to have a fast and cheap transaction online.

The problem is serious, and it is already hindering the Bitcoin adoption. I don't really see how it couldn't be serious if the Bitcoin network gets close to paralyzed for a few days in a row. In respect to miners specifically, things are not that simple there either. There are quite a few empty blocks popping up on the blockchain now and there, and those seem to be coming from the mining pools that deliberately choose to ignore incoming transactions altogether...

Some of the miners are also using old configurations, and the blocks they generate are only 750k in size

That point can be challenged

Though not in the sense that it is good for Bitcoin not being used as a currency like fiat, of course. What I mean to say is that we may not yet have reached that point where Bitcoin can be used as a full-fledged currency. And there is some hidden logic and sense behind that. While Bitcoin adoption is expanding and its price is growing, it is not really useful as a universal means of exchange and payment. As to me, we should first reach a certain threshold in the number of active users, even if these users are going to profit through Bitcoin directly (i.e. speculators and profiteers), and once (if) we get there, then Bitcoin might gradually turn into a currency in its own right (as opposed to a purely speculative asset as of now)

That's making them discourage and stops with bitcoin but when they see again that the price increases they will be active again, I just can't understand those type of people.

So instead of competing, they are adopting it and possibly they are the ones who will implement tax to bitcoin.
