I would just hold your Bitcoins, it's actually the safest option for value storage (in crypto space). Also I was researching Ethereum before and the project seems to have some performance problems like Bitcoin. But I believe Bitcoin is in a further stage of solving this problem than Ethereum is, as the core developers already implemented SegWit to allow Lightning network transactions in the future. Ethereum is still experimenting a lot with solutions like Sharding, but there doesn't seem to be a definitive solution yet.

It is on your hands in this case the decision maker is you because no can say which is the best crypto currency because its value changes everyday so if you want to invest in something read and see the previous history of that .

Try all things here in crypto like exchange of course you btc to eth because base on the potential of it the price can be so high in the future and also it's have different move to grow like in token that they give in airdrop or new tokens in some exchanger so you need to buy ETH.Nowadays eth stay in the price but if you already here in january 2017 i think the price are 7x high by now.

So I should hold the Bitcoin instead of the litecoin?
If you have both then why not hold both of them? I would keep Bitcoin over Litecoin if I had to choose just one of them.

From Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum, ETH is most stable coin in past 3 months.

Looks like BTC is over various attacks and speculation. But ETH have the power of ICO projects behind.

Only started a month ago and bought $110 of Bitcoin (0.0063) and $270 Litecoin (1.0124).  My question is should I use my Bitcoin and buy ETH or maybe even use some of my Litecoin along with Bitcoin and buy ETH.  Im not wanting to increase the amount I'm investing until I get more comfortable with how the exchanges and wallets work or any other stuff so for now just going to stick with the original $380 investment.

I'm thinking about maybe once I buy some ETH taking that and investing in some ETHOS.  I know I started with a low amount and will increase that over the coming months, my main goal is to buy some and just HODL.  Any suggestions?
It may better for you to search the new coin that already listed in small exchange site. But ethos also looks good in my opinion. The bad thing if you are investing your amount in bitcoin and litecoin and you will never get a lot of roi for your investment. only big player can take the advantages of bitcoin and litecoin. I think you are understand about that.

How about you try things out for yourself?
You can approach it kind of like a research experiment

Keep track of how much fiat you have spent on what currencies, then use them to buy more eth, keep track of prices, fees, etc.
Wait a week, measure how much growth there was and how much profit.
Then compare that to what you would have if you would have just left things as they are.

Doing stuff like this gives you valuable insight and knowledge and will empower you to make your own decisions in trading.
If you don't, you could find yourself making too many decisions because their are too many bits of advice out there.

With that being said, BTC, ETH, and LTC all have tons of room to grow still and they are the three most liquidable currencies so any of them would be great really.

In this period it is better stay in bitcoin because after every dump it is reached to 2x.
I am almost sure that it will again reach 17-18k in a short time. after that you can buy ethereum with your bitcoin

If there is any coin that you should always hold it is BTC, IMO there are alot of competing platform now that is likely going to give Ethereum good run for its money, NEO is doing that now and ICON and Boscoin are coming up

There are many good coins out there and Eth of course at the present time has a lot of attention. Also check out new coins like EOS, VEN and ICON. They will also have some good market share and exchange coins like COSS will have a future too. Fintech coins like POPULOUS will also be skyrocketing soon as they roll out their beta in a few days time before the end of January. Ardor and Stratis are also other good platforms along with NEO of course.

Buy Ripple or Stellar are safer. ETH is safer and more potential than BTC in 2018.

I recently bought BTC almost the same amount as yours at $11k rate and I haven't converted it to ETH yet. I am not sure but maybe because ETH's value now isn't dropping to $1k. If only ETHs value is within 800 to almost 1k value, I'd probably buy ETH using my BTC.

Nobody knows what's "best" and you shouldn't take advice from this forum. Most people are at least as, if not even more clueless than you are on here.

ICOs are riskier but have higher returns. BTC is the safest. ETH has recently increased by quite a bit while Bitcoin has gone back down to November valuations. Bitcoin and Litecoin are both getting the Lightning Network soon, which will make them the quickest and cheapest coins to use. Ethereum has an entirely different use case being a token platform.

In general, analyze the potentials and risks of different coins/assets that interest you when investing and then balance your portfolio according to your goals.

Agreed wholeheartedly. ETH is probably a safe investment though, long term anyway and BTC is an all around safe investment.

At the end of the day no one can make a decision for him though, so.

I would maybe split up, half eth half bitcoin. Anyway in both cases I expect growth, but of course no one can predict which is the best choice
