Across all variables the 1080ti is the best card currently available.  It provides best in class performance across virtually all hashing algos, has relatively low hash:watt, are generally available, provide the best power density in a rig, and will likely have the best potential resale value if/when mining takes a dive.

If you have free electricity and/or an excess of available pci slots the 1080 or 1070 are almost as good.

cheapest price for 1080ti in my town is 1000 usd, are this still worth to buy?
or buy rx470 gb mining edition for 360 usd?  Huh Huh Huh
They're both pretty inflated prices. I'd personally go for the 470 as it is less inflated compared to the 1080Ti, which is simply at a ludicrous price. I would not consider mining at all with those prices unless your electrical cost is close to zero at this point. Where I live even most big box stores are below 300 and even $250 now.

how will not inflated in here if all pc store owners also doing mining  Lips sealed
vega 64 still 850 usd, what a beautyful day  Wink

Don't know how to close the thread.

I just cancelled the order for AMD Vega 64

Found a 1080ti at a cheaper price point.

It may be slower but it'll have a better resale.

Thanks

From the current information, 1080ti is much better.
What people fail to see is that 1080Ti costs over 40% more than a regular 1080 for only 25-30% more performance.
The comparison between 1080 and 1070 favours the 1080 in the same way.

The 1080 will ROI faster.

So you are saying I should get a 1080 ?  lol I didn't even put that up in the discussion. There is a $100 different between cheapest 1080 vs 1080ti - I never ever thought about 1080 because in mining game it's placement seems awkward. It does eat less power though. LoL

Don't listen to all these people, you did the right thing and got the 1080Ti, which is the best bang for the buck currently for just about all coins. Good hash rate in one card, lower power usage, and excellent resale value as it is actually very good at games what's not to like?
The price.

Don't we need to consider hash/watt? That seems to favor 1070. Or is electricity very cheap where you live?

GeForce 1070 0,326 MH/s/watt
GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 0,222 MH/s/watt
AMD's Vega 56 0,199 MH/s
Vega 64 0,131 MH/s/watt

electricity is very expensive where i live... That's why i use nvidia for mining.

I guess this chart is for Ethereum. This is only algo in witch AMD and 1070 are better than 1080 or 1080Ti.

i don't mine Ethereum.

For other algo, hash/watt is similar for all nvidia cards.

But to get the same hash rate for rig with 6x1080Ti... you need 10X1070... this means two rigs, so you have to buy second MBO, CPU, PSU,...

But if you plan to mine Ethereum, 1070 or Vega is the way to go

I would buy the 1080ti simply out of a density standpoint. Every pcie slot, every riser, every space used by a card is density lost. The 1080ti will provide the best density to performance ratio - it is the fastest of all these cards and can be had at a decent price point. Also if you are ever in need of money for the next 6-12ish months you will be able to easily sell off the 1080ti for a nice portion of what you paid for it - I have already done this and was shocked at how fast I got rid of them. Sold 4 1080tis within 1 hour for 90% of what I paid for them.

Buy 1080Ti and mine DGB skein algo...

It does 950-1000MHs.

https://whattomine.com/coins/114-dgb-skein?utf8=%E2%9C%93&hr=950.0&p=0.0&fee=0&cost=0.0&hcost=0.0&commit=Calculate

Other options are LBC, skunk,...

It's better bang for buck than any other card

For me it's about power as well. I have 2 rigs 8 x 1060s. The entire rig draw about 750-760w so I was able to plug 2 machines into the same receptacle. My 8 x 1070 rig pulls just over 1000w so I can't really plug anything else into that receptacle. Lots of things to consider depending on someone's specific situation.

It all depends on pricing.
I got my 1080's for £400.
The Ti's were going for £675 and the 1070's for £350.
I chose the best performance for the bucks that would give me shortest ROI.

Hello,

I'm very confused-

Should I buy Vega 64 (faster memory and more Raw computing power)

or 1080ti - overall a better card and much lower power consumption and way better at games.

or dual 1070- (lowest power consumption)

They all will cost the same.

well, if you are confused, than buy Volkswagen.

Give this man a medal.

Vega is definetely going to be a fail. Rumors about 70 MH was turned to be false..
Buy something else or wait for better AMD drivers...
i think so, its overpriced. In my town they cost more than 800 usd for vega 64.

....

There is no 1.5 times decrease in consumption there. I watched the tests of cards 1070 devour 180 watts at 460sol well old 280x with the optimization of 185-190watt
....

You compare not optimized 1070 with optimized 280x. In tests I reached about 210-220W power consumption from GTX1070 on Neoscrypt, but it's not optimal
To get 460sol/s from GTX1070 it could tuned at 140W consumption.
The simple example:
28 nm GTX970 gives 290 sol/s at 140W (OC, DV)
16 nm GTX1070 gives 450 sol/s at the same 140W (OC, DV)

The sense of comparing 970 and 1070 if I compare 280 and 1070, and there is no 1.5 difference in consumption, I did not see the 1070 optimization yet, without loss of production, so there is 180watts at 460oils, if the power limit is reduced, then their speed drops, so 1.5 there is not even there 28nm against 16nm
28nm R9 280x 280-300sol 200-210W at 1.250v or 1.170v standart
28nm R9 280x optimizet 330sol at 185W 1.081-1.093
16nm 1070 450sols 180w downvolt?Huh I do not know cost 500+usd aginist 150usd
So power consumption no big deffierence or 140-160w or 180w
This is my IMXO Wink
