Actually it's hard to predict if the bitcoingold will increase in the future. It depende on the demand if they have many buer for sure the price increase but if they have many sell orders for sure the price will decrease. It's your choice if you want to hold it or you can sell your bitcoingold. You need to vigilant to your decision .

I believe in the original Bitcoin, simply because it's the biggest brand in crypto. Bitcoin Gold is not, and I've sold mine.

First of all I would not take investment advice from a random stranger over the internet. Secondly, yeah ofcourse, only bitcoin is the real deal. If you hold bitcoin gold considering it an alt then its fine, but if you holding it thinking that it would be as much in value as bitcoin, then you are mistaken my friend.

I'm thinking what to do as well... Major exchanges are still not supporting BTG deposit and I have them on the nano ledger.

If a major exchange (like bitfinex or binance) will open BTG deposit I would probably sell half of them and keep the rest

Sell it as soon as you get it, trust me.

This is what I heared many times when Bitcoin Cash was supposed to be distrubited. But those who didn't sell them and were patient sold their coins at 2000 dollar.

You can't really compare Bitcoin Cash, which was first ever Bitcoin fork, and was massively accepted by the community and miners, and Bitcoin Gold which was forked by 5 friends who wanted to get rich by dumping the premined coins on you.

Still some miners have look in mining BCH and making money out of it but technology and usage side we will never compare the bitcoin with any other altcoins.
Segwit2x project has been stopped and working out of it is by the very few people so bitcoin gold no more and become worst in everyone's view.

btg is only look nice to those who have expensive graphic card, which still not all have, and that means no decentralization, given how much they don't care about 1 million worth of BTC stolen following their recommendation of mybtgwallet.com I really think this people are all scammer, why no notification or anything saying that mybtgwallet.com is not supported or anything when all this going on, there is another copy of that phishing website running and they did nothing to warn people, posting here at bitcointalk.org or on their own website

Hello ,
One more question - I have my btc on ledger nano s and today they released app to claim BTG ( bitcoin gold) , so is it good to claim it and sell it ASAP or do you see any value holding BTG ? Or should I sell and convert buy btc with that money ? Please advise .

From that your statement the bitcoins you are having just the free coins offered for the bitcoin so it is not your investment then it is no problem if you lose it too.So keep the BTG and sell it if there is a price bump occurs like happened in BCH,some peoples said there is also possibility for happening in BTG also. But i think the potential of bitcoin is gold is less,so sell your btg at the price bump and convert it into bitcoins.

I recommend selling your Bitcoin Gold at the slightest sign of a pump (this will probably happen when BTC's price tanks a little bit). It will be worth close to nothing in the long term without a community backing it up and developers working actively on it.

I guess that's your choice, but if you only have a little btc I think it's better not. the current btg value falls on the abyss, yes after what happened yesterday. it will be difficult to btg have a good selling point.

I sold it all, the scam wallet the developers posted and the way the devs prepared the project have put me off of it.

I will keep my bitcoin gold for 1 month more. Bitcoin is dumping and pumping these days. Maybe btg can go to moon these days.

I will do that also since BTG will be lifted by the hype soon and we could earn huge for that if we wouldn't look for less quick money by this time, and we should look for what happen on BCH since possibly BTG will came to the point that BTG will be listed on top100 on the marketcap.

I couldn't sell today because the Ledger nano app for BTG did not work  Grin ,it might take them couple of days to fix . I will hold until then and see.

Well goodluck let's put some little faith on BTG  Grin.

I'll hold, look at what happened to Bitcoin cash... I invested 5K in bitcoin and it doubled, by holding. We never know what the future holds for Bitcoin gold too. Just my opinion.

Astonishing volume of pure noise here.

Here are my 0.02:

1. The idea of a more decentralized hash power coin is good, so I would like to see the project succeed

2. The dev team is better than BCH team, but not nearly as good as Core

3. There has been both FUD and accurate negative news. Team has not done great job of comms strategy, but they are over worked and undermanned.

4. Powerful forces at work are trying to shut down this project. Mining pools have been attacked, BTG web site has been DDOS, fake wallets have been inserted. These are all external to the team and alarming efforts to try to kill BTG.

To answer OP specific question: my view is HOLD for at least a month. Like BCH everyone is going to dump so unless you are the first out the door the price will likely be depressed by momentum by the time you get your coins traded anyways. If you hold, and BTG's vision plays out over the next 2 months -- i.e. market assigns value to an ASIC-resistant fork -- it will be a significant altcoin.
