The best thing to do, is to do nothing. Most people just wait to see what the price is doing and then they make their decisions based on that. I am not going to do anything for the first 24 hours before the fork and also for 24 hours after the fork, just to be safe.

Everyone is saying something different, because nobody know what will happen. One thing is certain, BTC will bounce back as the winner in the end, so I keep on stocking up on BTC, no matter what.   ^smile^

As you can see the BTC is rising fast, everybody is transfering alt coin to btc to get the new fork currency.
As we know, after fork the price will drop fast.

I realy want to discussed with you if I need to sell all my BTC right after my fork, and I will buy right after at low price.
What do you think will happend after the fork?

Sorry for my grammer.
Thank you

Its too early to tell if the price will really drop that fast. Although you are correct in your assumptions that altcoin is suffering right now because most traders are going into bitcoin ecosystem to get the new fork currency. If I were you then I would have to wait and see what's gonna happened after the fork. Maybe the price could sustained itself going to $8000 or more. Or better the price could really drop fast to $5500. We can't really say for certain what's going to happened until we cross the bridge. Just observed and make your judgement call after Nov. 16.

Yes you are right because it's really hard to predict the price of bitcoin if you think the price will dump after the November fork then go sell all your bitcoin and buy more if the price will fall after this fork but if you have a high believe in bitcoin you will never sell all your bitcoin and hold for long term but for me it's better to observe the situation we cannot know what will happen next after this fork or buy more bitcoin and hold!

selling bitcoin is always as much risky as buying bitcoin. because we all know bitcoin is rising and will continue to rise and when you sell the price may bounce back much faster and you miss the chance to buy back what you sold and you will eventually be forced to buy bitcoin at a higher price so you will have less BTC than before.

with that said, selling these days and right after the fork (only if you can be fast enough) is a good idea. not to sell all your stash but sell something so that you can have some additional fiat at hand in order to buy bitcoin in the possible dip.

ithink its not good to sell bitcoin after hardfork because like the last fork after the hardfork the price is droping down.. i think the best sell is before the hardfork end look at the price now when the hardfork is near the price also is dropped...

not all forking has bad effect to bitcoin remember last forking it doesn't make the price low instead make it more higher. hehehehehe
but most of the time it is true that it happens every time. some says that holding is a good way before the fork or not to do any transactions ,... keep earning

We can't surely say the price would get decreased after fork as people like to hold bitcoin for long term.
The first thing is to keep holding your bitcoin till the fork finishes, right after the fork, if you beleive the price of bitcoin will decrease a lot, then it will be profitable to sell immediately.

There is no right or wrong time of selling your coin. We were all thinking that bitcoin will fall because of the fork but we now realized that the price keep on going higher and higher even during and after the fork.

I dont think if that really going to happen, because on previous fork the bitcoin become more expensive after the fork, if bitcoin value will going to drop i will buy some at that time because it will going to recover again, regarding to your question for me im going to keep my bitcoin and not going to sell them but it also depend on you, your plan is good if the bitcoin value will drop but if the bitcoin become more expensive you will regret it too.

Yes you probably should sell all your bitcoins before the fork. Because at that time, bitcoin will go down so easily before it. And during the fork, go buy so that after the fork, you can harvest great profit.

The previous fork in October saw the price if Bitcoin soar after it because holders were still in expectations as to claim another free coins from the November segwit2. However, the bullish Bitcoin will expectedly go into correction once after this fork. Yes, I guess Bitcoin will dump. So, it's advisable to sell off immediately after the fork.

if you have 10 bitcoin, then maybe you can sell 3 btc and keep 7 btc in your wallet or you can sell 50% of the total bitcoin if you want to have money to buy bitcoin again. i think when the fork is happen, the price will be down a moment and will be back increase because if i see in the past, the situations is the same but if the price is still increase while the fork is coming then we can be happy to sell our bitcoin in higher price so i am sure that there will be correction price is come.

it depends on you op, if you need cash or if you want to shift on alts then you might want to sell it right after the fork but if dont then you better leave it there on your wallet but everyone else is expecting for a price drop after the fork although bitcoin can still possibly recover after some time.  but i guess you should buy alts now because they are still low these days.

I would say no. While things were as simple as that on previous forks, Segwit2x is a little more complicated. Your primary consideration should be that it does not implement replay protection. If you don't know what that is, look it up.

Another consideration is that the fork is meant to replace the old coin, and it has a lot of big backers. The forked coin may, however unlikely, replace the legacy chain as the main Bitcoin. It would be safer to hold both coins until things have started to settle in my opinion.

It may not be wise to just arbitrarily conclude that the price of Bitcoin will drop right after the fork...it may or it may not.  If it did drop significantly, I would certainly not sell but try to buy some more.  I believe dips are buying opportunities.
You are understanding the market right despite being a newbie, many people look at a decrease in the price as the worst thing that it could happen in the world, when in fact a drop in the price is great news since that means you can get cheap bitcoin for a limited amount of time and then you only need to wait for a few weeks before everything goes back to normal.

well you shouldn't sell your bitcoin due the fork is coming many exchanges will be closed a day before hard fork and also if you keep your bitcoins after the hardfork you will receive BTC2X after hardfork and also it's not true that bitcoin price drop after the fork in fact after the BCH hard fork the price soared from 2700 to 4300 it just dropped when the China imposes ban on bitcoin exchanges and the shutting down of BTCC in china. anyways it is your decision to sell it or not we are giving you advice.

Well the price of bitcoins is one of the things which make no sense to me. Most of the time, whatever I expect, the exact opposite happens.
When the bitcoin cash hard fork happened, the price almost went down in the mid of July but as the date of Aug 1 became nearer everyone bought back in. So we can't say that BCH made the price go anywhere before the fork.

It was only after the fork that we saw it move up from the range of $2700 to $4300 !

If I try to somehow understand or imply the same scenario, it doesn't work. Price is going up before the fork.
PLUS why are more people buying ? The fork is no longer the motive. It's over. Will it continue to go up Huh

My expectations (which are usually wrong Cheesy ) are that it might crash in late November.

We didn't see a massive drop after Gold, so maybe selling is a risk. Depending how much you are planning to sell, you have to ask yourself is it worth the gamble they will go down rather than up for a few $100 gain per coin.

My personal holding i pretty small so I am hoping for the price to drop a fair bit briefly so I can pick some up at a cheaper rate

I  hold my Altcoins and Bitcoin. But I think if you want to make the biggest profit you can sell it right after the fork and then buy back in at a low price. Or you can switch to Tether. But it is necessary that the fork has a replay protection.

I'd do it before the fork, people will be buying a lot of altcoins.
