Yeah you should. Keep your Windows up to date in order to stay safe in regards to malware, trojans or viruses! I don't think the windows versions nowadays really use much more hardware power so you should be good to go.

Here's on point that may persuade others to update.

But not me Grin

I'm cautious and I know what I'm doing.

sell the alienware and buy a real computer

I use them for portable gaming, I would sell the m15 since it was overpriced and make a home-build but currently using it as my dummy laptop for school.

Windows 8 is simply horrible, 7 works nice, faster and easy to install and use.

Please, stay with win7, you'll be only happy. Or better, go for Linux (dualboot if gaming).

Stay with Windows 7 I'm sure many of us would have stayed with Windows XP if they hadn't essentially forced users to upgrade by ditching support for it, one thing I will say about Windows 7 is it's a lot easier to install.

True to this.  Win8 is like 50gb too.

I will use windows 7 till microsoft stops with supporting it. Windows 8 is good for tablets, but that's all.

I hope windows 9 will give us a better desktop experience, I don't want tile interface on my desktop.

I didn't see any advantage to move to a windows 8, as for windows 9, I don't know but if it is more cloud orientated they won't see me.

Windows 8 is a piece of shit only if you install other applications in order to do simple things then it might be fine otherwise it's time wasting and bloated system.

Agreed windows 8 is horrible unless you wish for a mobile phone looking layout on your desktop.  You dont even get a start button with it to navigate, there are hacks to give you a start button but they aren't ideal.

ATM im trying to get up to speed with linux.

and i was using it on a touchscreen laptop so that was even worse. As other said stay with Windows 7 for the time being.
