Ethereum, like other cryptocurrencies can't avoid dip in prices from time to time. The second ranked coin suffered a prolonged downtrend that reached below $200 last month. But it doesn't means that ethereum is no longer profitable because I believe that the price dips are only temporary and it will recover on its own time. There are many entrants that can be capable of overtaking ethereum but it will take time before it will finally happen. So ethereum is still one of the preferred coins for profitable investment especially in long term.

I believe yes, investors should trust ethereum because it is still active and still has the capability to rise better. It might be on it's lowest value right now but it will still bounce back to it's original price where we could have a good gain. I would prefer buying more ethereum rather than sticking with any other coin.

believing or even hating ethereum is the choice of every investor, some investors still believe in ethereum by participating in several ICOs that use the ERC20 smartcontract. but some have left it. and they switched to bitcoin or EOS based ICO projects
In my opinion Ethereum still become the number 1 altcoin in next acouple years, because this crypto always try to be better. The team development has plan to solve scalability issue by use sharding and plasma and will change from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake. Ethereum will be possible to process amillion transaction persecond and when this success, mass adoption of Ethereum will be huge and more starts ups will use Ethereum blockchain.
its already. ETH is second only to bitcoin. other altcoin need more than current tech available to surpass ETH domination. or simply mass adoption will do the trick. its not easy task though.
Clarification, you said that EOS overcame Ethereum? Are stating that it took over Ethereums spot or it will replace Ethereum? Anyways EOS is one of the good altcoins in the market you can buy some of it from your Ethereum. But i would not give up on ETH you will be surprised how it can bounce back.

Both assets you mention are in the top 10 and that means they're worthwhile to invest in as long as there's no major problems with the project and its development
Both platforms have issues which will be worked out eventually but if you want less risk just invest in Bitcoin

Ethereum is a very good coin that investors can hold and invest in the long run because it will grow strongly then the uptrend. It is not necessary to bury Ethereum ahead of time (Constantinople update is being tested and will soon be launched into the network) and this is only the beginning. I think Ethereum will shoot to the moon soon. Due to market fluctuation the price went very low in the market which makes us to think negative about the market. Eth is very huge potential coin which will increase its price along with bitcoin.
