It would be cool if he did return, maby he can come back in a few years time and buy a "small" island in some nice climate zone and make it a no fiat, bitcoin only "country" or something like that.

i will wait for satoshi to come back and big giveaway of these coins that are still in his wallet and this giveaway will be greatest event in the bitcoin history. Grin

this would only be a great way to kill bitcoin, the majority of the new owners of those coins, will dump it as soon as they hit their wallet

I think it would be bad for the price, especially if he moves funds out of his account, causing panic

It would cause panic and also more attention. You cant predict what would happen, but on long run would not change much.

It would undoubtedly cause panic, and probably crash the price, but after the dust settled one of Bitcoin's biggest bugbears would be gone. In the long run it would generate tremendous publicity and possibly spark off another rally after the crash. It could result in much higher levels of adoption.

This would be great to diversify a coin. No one need that much money. Then again, there's this quote of Satoshi seeing he is not a socialist, so i'll guess he'll die a stupidly rich man for the sake of it.

Do you (personally) think it would be a good idea for Satoshi to return?
Either now, or in the future?

And if he did, how do you think the rest of the world would react?
(Especially some governments)

Well yes , I personally think it will be a good idea for Satoshi to return , he can be the official speaker of Bitcoin and Bitcoin will certainly spread around the world .
However , I don't think he will comeback because as you said , gouvernments won't really react very well and he will be probably be blamed of all the marketplaces on the deep web which sells Drugs , weapons and illegal stuff even if it's not his fault .

No if I was Satoshi, why would I return. He already made so much money worth of BTC before anybody knew about it. And if he came back, the World would turn him into a star. He'd be successful either way.

Yeah, but unfortunately for him, he cannot cash out any of his coins.

Yes, I think he should briefly return to giveaway the coins he cannot spend to us, his loyal supporters here on bitcointalk. He could do it and announce what he had done through a message in the blockchain without ever having to log in here, or make any posts here.

how you can be sure about this that Satoshi is a person? it can be a code name or group scientist because that is still mysterious question and need to resolve this thing first who is Satoshi a person, a code name or group of scientist than other thing will be get resolved itself after we have this answer.

I'm not certain if Satoshi was a person, a group of people, or something else. When I referred to Satoshi as "he" I was speaking figuratively. I merely feel if he distributed the coins he cannot spend it could help Bitcoin grow in the long term because the fear he might dump would be gone. Personally I don't believe he will ever dump, but others are worried about it.
i think at the moment bitcoin is more than from it's begging and growing steadily than ever, now it is on the way to the mainstream by getting more adoption day by day and acceptance from more big merchants so if there would little dump happens than bitcoin will not be get harm by this.

He would like to reassure us that he is still on his journey back to earth but had to make a stop on a planet in a different star system that was still using paper fiat.

He will be back.. and when that happens:
He will begin examining the blockchain daily and personally choosing seat assignments on his spaceship. Many factors come into play. Obviously those with more bitcoin will get better seats, but in the event of a tie he will choice more loyal bitcointalk posters over ones who express doubt.

I think you have intercepted one of his messages that was destined for another universe.
The planet mentioned above is planet earth  Wink

satoshi nakamoto is dead...some months ago...so i wont think he can come back ..but if he can then i am pritty sure he can open some secret doors for us..and that is what we are searching for
Oh yeah? I am sure you have proof for such an extreme statement as declaring someone has been dead for quite some time, otherwise that would just be ridiculous.
i think that its possible that hes dead as he should be wanted by a lot of people because of creating bitcoin
It's a possibility but more or less doubtful in my mind, I think once he died word would get out of who he was, a few people on this forum know who he was/is I am pretty sure. (Theymos, Gavin and others)

What makes you think that Gavin or Theymos or anyone else knows who he is?

As Satoshi is a pseudonym representing an unknown entity or entities, how do you know the creator(s) of bitcoin ever left?

We don't know for sure, as we don't know for sure that Satoshi was a pseudonym  Wink

Satoshi never admitted the truth, he is angry.

His main wish was that the hashing power shall stay decentralized, in order to generate the longest chain and outpace attackers.

Now I ask: Who of you is mining Bitcoin?

.. silence....

I ask again: Who here is solo mining? On their own machine. On their own property. You have no excuse. Attaching wire to wire is not stealing according to the scriptures.

To all the nonbelievers, screaming "But I'll never hit a hash".

Why are you asking Who is Satoshi? Satoshi Nakamoto is the voice of one calling: “In the internet Prepare the connectivity for the LORD, make straight the route. Let every BSS be lifted up, And every router and switch be made low. Then the glory of the LORD shall be revealed,
and all peers shall use it together; for the code of the LORD has compiled.
