This activity needs to be banned. The ability to buy/sell accounts made the 4th of July scam possible. He puchased a reputable account, and convinced everyone (including mods) that he was trustworthy, only to send out hundreds of scam phising messages disguised as a bitcoin giveaway. Many forum members suffered as a result of the permitting of buying / selling accounts.
Permitting this activity is done at the expense of eliminating all traces of trust and reputation from the community.

If it is a feature and if it facilitates scamming, then it should definitely be announced here in a sticky and not hidden in meta.
Posted here and not in meta for the same reason. I only discovered this recently while bumping into the sold accounts both in the fake raffle here and the scammer forum. It should be made more visible here.
