Well, as a newbie and you should learn more about the market. If you have enough knowledge about crypto or a crypto research and you can start to pick up some tokens from the market. is not it the bearish trend has become the best time to invest in the crypto. You pay less to get cheap tokens. That means if you didn't need to spend a lot of money to get some legit altcoins from the market. How profitable mining totally depend with numerous factors and it can't be said it will not profitable during the bearish market. Staking was not a bad idea if you're going to the stable tokens.
You will have so many chances to make money during the bearish market. just buy legit coins and waiting for that to recovery when bitcoin will be pumped again.

Now that bear market is slowly taking over the market what can a newbie do to make money in a bear market? Staking is a bad idea in bear market I heard, even mining coins are not profitable in bear market too so what's the way forward?

I am not sure its really possible earn easy money with altcoins. And I am not really sure the beat market has ended.  I have described what happens during ICO MANIA in my blog post here
https://www.publish0x.com/bitbollo-cryptocurrencies-blog/a-depth-analysis-of-bitcointalkorg-speculation-thread-the-ne-xpnnjwq
taking in account First 1000 predictions made in https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/the-next-100x-1000x-coin-2106360 this topic "The next 100x-1000x coin?
56% of coins suggested get a negative result and 11% of coins suggested litterally collapse to zero.
The lesson should be easy. Dont gamble with your money and pay a lot of attention of coins that you decide to use/invest. The market Is not easy and isnt rare you loss a big amount of money with a bad decision.
Also a good suggestion, could make you earn a fortune now and be a 0 gain after a short time.
My suggestion? Learn as much as you can about this field. Try to earn only with Bitcoin and not be fooled by a lot of altcoins that seems created most of the times only to "stole" good coins.

What a newbie can do during the bear market is to study different repercussions of what the market can do to your life especially if you are blindly following internet nerds in the forum without giving yourself a favor to educate yourself.

If you are a trader, then I think studying about RS/RW vs BTC is the best way to go to ascertain the direction of the market, then use your T.A when to enter and exit. If you are an investor, better off holding you top coins (e.g.,BTC, ETH) while accumulating as much as you can to get the premium price.

Or perhaps, get a job, then convert some of your fiat to crypto.

In bear market conditions try to buy some good coins so you can get good profits in the future, because bear market problems like now are very common things that happen even though every thing that happens it always has an effect and influence of something, but apart from that, buying at this point is a very good thing.

If you think there will be a bear market, then you should exit the market, cash out. With the capital you earned from crypto, you should be able to reinvest in safer instruments. Let's say some stable income fund will yield you 5% annually, then it's a good idea to store it there temporarily. Then, after you think the crypto dip is deep enough, you can cash out and reinvest in crypto. You can cash out partially to dollar cost average as well.

As I observe from the last bear market started 2018, the best way is to patiently wait for the price to fall like 60-90% from the last ATH. But we don't know how long a bear market will last best thing is to buy every after dip there are some instance that a very low buy order will not hit and you will left behind. Converting into stablecoin and staking in bear market is also a good strategy, you can buy in every dip and hold then wait for another bull market coming.

Dollar cost averaging still is the best way to earn money even though we are in a bear market.
I believe the most profitable way to earn in a bear market is thru futures trading but we know how risky it is right. I don't recommend a newbie for it but you may try a few bucks just so you know how fast your capital will either take profit or loss.

Staking isn't a bad idea at least for me because it gives you 2 purposes why you are staking. You are holding that coin in the long term and at the same time you are earning that coin increasing the number of your coins. I don't think that staking is a bad idea for now especially if the coin that you are holding is for the long term because if the market goes up again, you will take profits both from capital appreciation and from the staking rewards that you get. Mining isn't profitable maybe but its only temporary.

Well, you are a newbie right so maybe learning everything is even just the basics is the first step for you.

1. Learn more about crypto
2. Learn about safeguarding your wallet
3. Do research on airdrops
4. When you rank up to jr member on this forum you can promote other new crypto projects for reward
5. If you have GPU that is capable of mining coins now is the time to mine and HODL, maybe BTC or ETH

You are thinking of an immediate profit which is usually the problem with most newbies but that should not be your option now but what to invest in since the market is down that will make you profits months and years from now, so I would suggest you look at some projects with good potentials, invest in them and wait it out.

Why staking is a bad idea?
There are some kinds of staking where you can still earn positive interest such as staking only 1 asset without contributing to any liquidity pool tokens, there are already a lot of them just like on the Solana network where you can use USDT or USDC to stake only and earn some interest. So if you want to be safe at all with current price volatility or dumps, then convert your funds to some stablecoins and deposit it to some platform that offers interest.

You are not in loss until you sell your coins, either staking or mining you lost nothing until you decide to sell and even mining have more advantage than staking in bear market because you will get more quantities of the coin if you mine in bear market than in bull market, difficulty wise will be lower

First of all the profitability for staking is always the same no matter if we are in a bear market or not because you always get a certain APY of your staked coins as reward. For example if you are staking 100 Radix for 1 year and the APY is 10 % then you will have 110 Radix after a year. So you should still let your coins stake in a bear market because otherwise you would simply miss out on free rewards. Of course you shouls not sell the staking rewards during a bear market if you don't have to. Just keep accumulating until the price rises again.

In a bear market, you can periodically buy crypto to average the purchase price in your portfolio. Don't wait for the market bottom to make the most profitable purchase. Few people manage to catch this.  After that, just wait for the bull market to start, but keep in mind that this will most likely happen only in the next cycle: in about 4 years, if the economic situation in the world does not change much.

Keep in mind, this is not a guide to action for you, but advice that you may or may not use.

P.S. Do not expect ready-made answers and solutions to your problems by others. Study the information, read the forum and look for the best ways to make money for newbie.

It seems that this topic should be moved here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0.

Buy at the dip. This must become the best choice for the newbies coz they will buy tokens when it was on the bottom. So, you can accumulate more and more tokens as your preparation before the next bullish trend. Im sure that if this will be also become the best way to generate more and more money for the newbies instead of staking. You can do staking but when you're in bearish market and this is not so good.

Staking is a bad idea in bear market I heard, even mining coins are not profitable in bear market too so what's the way forward?
It'll be a bad idea coz you are staking the tokens or altcoins instead of stable tokens. If you are staking the stable tokens and the return will be stable and you will not face the risk caused by the volatility. When you're in the bearish market staking the stable coin is the best choice and accumulating more and more cheap tokens from the market.
