But how would it hurt to join a signature campaign while you're starting out?

It could hurt the community if the signature is promoting a scam or ponzi(common with many sig campaigns) and it will hurt the
users reputation by showing the rest of us they are willing to sell their reputation to the highest bidder and thus their comments lose credibility.

I see 3 users in this thread alone promoting a scam.

Sadly I think most wouldn't care much if they thought a potential scam was in their sig as long as the btc kept rolling into their wallet.

Ahh. I see. Wouldn't the scams/ponzis be noted in the signature thread? People should always exercise caution...

Ever notice how this forum won't display certain types of banner ads from certain "companies" and those companies have to bribe users directly with sig campaigns?

Scams and ponzies are mentioned in that thread but its a very long one and doubtful people will actually read through much of it.

Most cloudmining companies are likely ponzis-

So are you promoting a ponzi then? o_o

How much traffic do signature campaigns actually attract? haha

he don't promoting ponzi...

But if you think that you will earn some nice money by posting with newbie/junior member status - think twice. While your payment  may be better than nothing you may want to wait to reach higher status on forum. Or you may consider buying an account.

Payouts for newbie and jr member signature campaigns are really low. Try bitin.io, I had an average experience with them months ago. Don't expect to earn much however, you can earn much more when you turn into a full member as the signature is more visible.

The reason for that is people are able to create multiple accounts. The forum would like to minimize the spamming that would be created by allowing newbies to participate in the larger campaigns.

It won't happen as long as newbies and junior members have reduced signature capabilities. Their sigs are simply not good enough to be viable as ads.
