I knew there was a drop-off from 2018 to 2020, though obviously I didn't have it represented in graph form.  You could just tell from the Services section that sig campaigns were in danger of dying off, because there weren't as many new ones being started.

Again, props to OP for compiling the charts.

The altcoin section is full of shit projects. Recently some new member emerges from the grave who doesn't value signature campaign and most of their marketing is based on social media. USDT and BTC paid campaign are very low in the service section and most of the existing project is old. If members lose earning opportunities then most people will leave these places expect those who are really here for the BTC not earning.

This place could be a dead cat if the new bounty campaign stop coming. Thought this is the best place but this is not the only place now where people can discuss or learn about bitcoin.

The data are calculated and presented every month in both BTC and USD pay rates in every year.
Great work with this data and charts, but I would also add one additional thing for live Bitcoin prices, maybe using some tools that were posted recently in bitcointalk forum.
This would show highest paying campaigns (I think Chipmixer is on top) in case members didn't spend any of their received coins.
For example, this tool was posted by member rasengan, using his website coinxc.com for showing current rate for Bitcoin:

1 Bitcoin is now worth

For more information check out original topic and his website:

Maybe in the next year there's a new campaign want to pay higher pay rate and beat the 2018 record in USD value? we will see Smiley
I am more interested in breaking Bitcoin payment rates, with inflation USD is losing it's value all the time Wink

Great effort. Much appreciated.
But I would place the thread in economy board with different headline (title).

Let me get you the true picture based on the country I live (Bangladesh)-
Per capita income is Bangladesh is ~$2000 which you can earn through ChipMixer campaign in less than 2 months. In our country, govt jobs are cherished by everyone. So, if I take a 1st class job holder salary, they get around ~$800/month at maximum and they are living a good life. That's not of course like a king lol. However, with ChipMixer campaign, one can live a far better life than a 1st class govt job holder as from ChipMixer, one can earn $1200/month.

But I don't think a lot of people are thinking to live a good life from signature campaign earning. Most people here have IRL jobs, business and they are taking signature campaign as partial benefits only. Because signature campaign doesn’t ensure X years of guaranteed income. If theymos today says fuck signature, they will have zero income think lol
To live like a king- I think it's not possible from signature income, not at least in my country.

So what criteria are you using to select sig campaigns every year?
Because I believe Chipmixer should be representing every year (yet it appears only once) since 2017
I only represent the campaign in a year where it was started, if I do include the campaign into the next year, it will ruin the beginning pay rate of the project want to pay their participants since I calculate with different Bitcoin price. Also it will make a confusion and not good for readers to read a complex calculation. But you're not entirely correct Chipmixer will represented in every year because when they change their pay rate from 0.0375 BTC to $300, if Bitcasino still pay their participants with 0.018 BTC/week, they're the biggest paying campaign now.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the absolute first sig campaign was earlier than 2013.  I remember browsing very old posts, and I stumbled across the thread where the idea to rent out signature space for advertising was floated, and I could swear it was 2011 or thereabouts.  Either way, nine years' worth of data are more than enough to satisfy my curiosity.
You're correct, sometime the forum engine kinda suck lol.

2011:
1. [CLOSED] up to 50 people, get paid 0.10 BTC to change your signature (BTC price $15, 0.1 BTC=$1.5/3week)
2. BouerBouer's Signature Shop [0.1BTC per signature] (BTC price $17.5, 0.1 BTC=$1.75/?week)

2012:
There's no one launch a signature campaign, only one thread a user want to buy someone signature, though he didn't stated how much he want to pay. In this year many users want to rent their signature, hopefully on 2013 someone conduct new campaign and survive until now Cheesy

Great explain about lowest and highest payment bitcoin trough 2013 until 2022 by joining several signature campaign, can't imagine when active on signature campaign trough on 2014 like joined on signature campaign FortuneJack.com NEW Campaign – Earn 0.12 BTC!!! Weekly Payments. (BTC price $380, 0.12 BTC=$45.6). Can't expected if keep holding reward from signature campaign and sell when bitcoin made all time high, maybe all signature participants trough 2013 until 2015 can retired right now and enjoy their achievement from signature payment.

In fact at one point when BTC when the recent bull market started, members who met the maximum post requirement were recieving close to or more than $500 a week.
I think it was more than that, but I'm 99.9% sure it was at least that, which is nutty to think about.

Great job, OP!!  This was exactly what I was looking for when I made that post and I was hoping someone would see my question and crunch the numbers.  It couldn't have been easy to do, since the data isn't exactly readily available in one place.  I very much appreciate the effort.

If my memory is still good, I think Chipmixer has been the bet paying sig campaign from 2017 to this date. In fact at one point when BTC when the recent bull market started, members who met the maximum post requirement were recieving close to or more than $500 a week.

So what criteria are you using to select sig campaigns every year?
Because I believe Chipmixer should be representing every year (yet it appears only once) since 2017, because;
1. They have been consistent every week since they started
2. They hve been he undisputed highest paying campaign for a very long time

You did a good job analyzing this data, although it doesn't give the overall picture but it does give a good first impression.
It's true, thanks Smiley

Now you need to compare it with the average wage in the world, especially in the countries that witness activity in the forum, and then it can be determined which country in the world you can live well with just signature campaigns.

In general, and for a single man, the average of 400 dollars that can be obtained is sufficient to live on an average in some African and Asian countries, and it is almost impossible in Europe and America.
Interesting idea, now it's done and you're correct third world countries (e.g. African, Asian, Middle East) monthly salary is pretty low and didn't even exceed $400. I'm using this site to get the data of monthly salary in every countries (not all were included however) as you can see Sri Lanka is the most lowest monthly salary, followed with Nigeria, Pakistan, Nepal etc.

If the monthly signature income is $1,500 based on @The Pharmacist thread, you can live in many countries including developed country e.g. Czech Republic, Estonia, Poland etc. Since he talk about which countries he can live like a king with just $1,500/month, I think the monthly signature income need at least 5x bigger than the average monthly salary, so those country are Algeria (5.2x), Egypt (5.5x), Venezuela (6.5x), Nepal (6.7x), Pakistan (7.9x), Nigeria (8.1x), and Sri Lanka (9.8x) can be a good choice.

Do not forget that HODLING this equation will change a lot, for example, the amount of .5BTC per month is currently equal to about 10K, which is a good average in most countries.

The main reason I'm creating this thread is because @The Pharmacist asking this question on his thread Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? and also many new campaigns in this year come up like 1-2 campaign(s)/month.

Has anyone seen any statistics on pay rates over time?  I'd be interested to know how much bitcoin (or the dollar amount) could be earned per pay period in each of them throughout the years.  I suspect it's gone down a lot.

I spend few days to collect 3 threads on every year to have better statistic since each campaign do pay low and some are high, so we can see in every year how much the lowest you can earn and how much the highest you can earn. I did cherry pick for the latest campaign who still survived until now, because not all campaigns can survive so that long especially Chipmixer which already 5 years long.

You may see the pay rate is different with the payment right now, the reason is I want to see how much the beginning plan of the project want to pay their participants at the current date where the signature campaign thread was posted and I also using the BTC price when the signature campaign was posted to make it fair, that's why you see the BTC price is difference though it's in the same year. I use CoinMarketCap to see the Bitcoin price from 2014 until now and some articles to know how much Bitcoin price on 2013.

The data are calculated and presented every month in both BTC and USD pay rates in every year.

The first signature campaign was started since 2013 based on my research

2022: 0.008-0.01 BTC/month and $240-$400/month

This is the graph of signature campaigns pay rate since 2013-2022 in BTC

This is the graph of signature campaigns pay rate since 2013-2022 in USD

The insight of two graphs above is:
The highest payment in BTC was in 2013, this is make sense considering how cheap Bitcoin is, so they're not losing to much money. However on 2014 there's no campaign want to pay higher pay rate, then since 2015 and so on, the Bitcoin pay rate continuously drop in both lowest and highest.

The highest payment in USD was in 2018, where they want to pay $554,40/month while this is the worst dump ever in Bitcoin history, I don't know the reason, perhaps they think BTC will go lower and lower? but the campaign is still alive, so they're proving they don't have any problem with huge payment (I also don't know how much this campaign pay rate in this year). However the highest payment in USD are quite stable since 2017 until now, around $300/month. On 2019-2021 there's a huge gap between the lowest and highest pay rate, especially on 2017 where they're paying only for $54,6/month.

The most interesting fact is: You will earn less BTC value, but you will earn higher USD value

Maybe in the next year there's a new campaign want to pay higher pay rate and beat the 2018 record in USD value? we will see Smiley
