This company offered 100gh/s (4TH in total) for £150 for 3 month contract starting from 15th of Jan, 2014 this is his profile http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/kallance05?_trksid=p2053788.m1543.l2754 ebay member called kallance05

a month later and 100 of emails from them saying all mining operations are going well but they couldn't find any block this is because (according to them) they are mining in a small pool so the reward can be greater

of course it all scam avoid them at all costs

if what they offered was true mining in a bigger pool with 4TH/S would have got them 1BTC a day and they would have paid everyone bought from them a steady income every week

I'm sure they are making coins but for themselves they know how to play the ebay game they offer the contract over 45days before the start so you cannot claim back or report them to ebay/paypal

Silicon Computers Ltd don't buy any contract from them AVOID SCAM SCAM SCAM!

I can confirm, they also tried to scam me. Luckily I did not send any money.

Hello All.

I'm here to inform you that Karl Ballance has admitted to being "Paul Jackson" during an interview with West Yorkshire Police. As we all suspected, he did not have any mining equipment, and the operation is a complete scam. Karl has received an adult caution.

I urge you all to go to the small claims court. Depending on how many contracts you purchased, the court fee for amounts up to £300 is £25. A small cost to pay to receive your money back in my eyes!

How do you know about that interview? Could it be that I can contact West Yorkshire Police directly?

Cheers,

Yo,

I was scammed by this guy too.

I think e-bay / pay-pall can do nothing about this since its been a long time since "delivery", correct? Is small claims court only for UK citizens?

thanks & cheers

latest update from him on 26/03/2014 from email address [email protected] under the name Paul Jackson:

Hi,

It's been a while since any update was given to you regarding the success of mining a block, but it's now coming upto the last month of the operation and I'm sorry to say we haven't found a block as yet.

It's very hard for me to put into words NOT finding a block means, I know you all will be wanting some positive news on a return on your purchase but at this point there isn't one.

I would like to inform you that some form of goodwill gesture will be given IF we do not find a block by the end of the contract, this has been discussed a few times due to the lack of success with the mining so far, at this point it's not clear what will be given but I will let you know at the end of the contract if needed.

I hope your not disheartened by this operation and will always look towards a positive Bitcoin furture with us or anyone else, I understand the frustration this operation so far may have caused you but it's not over yet Smiley

If there is any change in the income from the mining, I will email you straight away just in case your not checking you wallet weekly.

Chat soon.

as you can see he always have an execuse of why he didn't find a block

and NO i didn't get any refund or offered any at all instead he was black mailing people in his weekly email by saying no one will get any bitcoin share if they complain  Roll Eyes

I have reported this scammer to Action Fraud, and I know others have. I'd suggest doing the same for any of those that haven't. The process only takes about 15 minutes and if several people do it, they'll have no choice but to investigate.

LOL love the poster, I've not been offered a refund, tell me Karl is it a full refund?

Shall i upload the last page of your contract Karl which shows it's signed from SiliconComputersLTD? and the contact email address being [email protected]

Your such a liar

Karl wheres your photo of your miners, surely this wouldn't be a problem if you actually were mining or if you owned the 4TH hardware?

Only a guilty person would stop replying, an innocent one would just take the 2 minutes and upload it to the thread.

great poster ! this guys getting owned

If you bought through ebay using a card don't even bother contacting him just do a charge back.

Thanks, I'll contact my credit card company and see what they say

I can confirm I haven't been offered a refund, so that's more lies. Should I make this request in writing? As it's clear from this thread that this is a scam. I also see you failed to address the mining hardware photo request in your last reply

Also regarding the signed contract from SiliconComputersLtd that too is incorrect, the contract was never signed by SiliconComputersLtd and the address was for reference purpose only, this too has been explained several times.

It has been made very clear on this site that some unhappy customers will try and get there money back for a service which is been provided under any circumstance, goodwill gestures/refunds have been offered to ALL parties involved and all but one customer has accepted this offer, also a few customers have received there refund IN FULL before the mining operation began, once the service began the longer the service went on, more expenses were incurred by the operation, and this in turn reduced the goodwill gesture/refund offered, all the customers who accepted the goodwill gesture/refund, will get that amount refunded, and that amount will not be lower due to any delay of funds.

Since everyone has the right to express their opinion, I too would like to state that the service which was advertised via Ebay is being provided and all email communications from any customer has been answer, if any customer requested information the information was given, only a few requests were refused the reason was either it jepordised the mining operation, or it was irrelevant, also more information were given than what was needed.

I would like to state that no further posts will be posted from SiliconComputers1999

So where's the picture?, What do you have to say about your contracts signed SiliconComputersLTD or your email address?

"who carry out the work of an establishment or perform a specific function"

But Karl you said your all sole traders? your certainly not mining so whats the specific function you are performing?

Hi Karl.

I'd also like to see pictures of your mining equipment. If you do have the hardware, and you are providing the service that you claim to be, there would be no feasible explanation for you to refuse this request, it would only work in your favour..

Random House Webster's College Dictionary

staff*stæf, stɑf(n.)(pl.)staffs; staves

(n.)a group of people, esp. employees, who carry out the work of an establishment or perform a specific function.

As you can see from the above online dictionary,

Staff is a group of people who perform a specific function.

I see what you mean about him not being so clever... quotes from his last post

"Employing 7 Staff member is incorrect, we are all sole traders working as a team"

beginning of his next paragraph

"Members of staff personal life can not be discussed"

Don't defend yourself, Your emails have come from SiliconComputersLTD, the contracts you sent out are signed SiliconComputersLTD. You have never mined a single BTC after 5 weeks and you cannot produce any evidence that you are mining.

So Karl why don't you post a picture of your 4/THs mining equipment?

Your just trying to save your own neck, and trying to prevent people from knocking on your door.

I would just like to make it very clear that the allergations regarding a SCAM is totally incorrect.

To clear things up a little,

Silicon Computers, not LTD
We mine as a small pool and get a better return on the investment but over a longer time scale, we don't give a guarantee on the income as that can not be 100%
Also getting 1Btc daily is only the case if you mine in a larger pool, we get just over 50% of the block mined so that works out to be just over 13 Bitcoins on a successfully mined block.
So that means we can not get less than 13 Btc's, not daily but when successful mined.

Regarding Silicon Computers Ltd I have no idea what or who this company is, I/we have no connection in any way or form to this company.

Employing 7 Staff member is incorrect, we are all sole traders working as a team to make mining bitcoins eaiser for the general public, as we all work and enjoy working with computers we appreciate that other members of the public, may not have access to Bitcoin mining equipment/experience so we thought this would be a good opportunity to help.

Members of staff personal life can not be discussed but I will make it clear that Karl Ballance is from Leeds, and Paul Jackson works in Peebles, The address given in the correspondence letter is within a very close vicinity of where the mining operation is taking place, it has been made very clear to everyone that this is the case and we have never stated the meetings or the mining operation is conducted at this location, it was made very clear also that the address of the equipment would NOT be given out under any circumstance due to the value of the equipment.

The reason why this service has a no refund policy is like "Group Bitcoin" explained, customers can get the Bitcoins paid to their wallet then claim a charge back, it's impossible to get a refund or chargeback from a Bitcoin wallet.

I would like to make a point that several customers have asked for a refund and some have recieve their refund, the reason was they requested their refund before the mining operation began, after the operation begin no request for a refund happen until weeks into the 12 week agreement, then some unhappy customers who expected an immediate payout but didn't get one, due to having not mined a block at that point, some customers wanted all their money back and several customers including the ones on here have agreed to a goodwill gesture/refund but not willing to wait for Paypal to unfreeze the account due to the dispute, the reason why it's frozen is that Paypal have requested more information which has been provided to them, but just waiting on them to accept the information requested, one customer who agreed to a refund has now demanded nearly double their money back.

Yeah i've also been scammed by this guy Kallance05, Yes that is correct his name i believe is Karl Ballance, The so called "contracts" that he sends out through the post has a correspondence address at Cavalry Business centre where they hold "meetings"

When you call the business centre they have never heard of Silicon Computers LTD or Karl Ballance or any of the staff.

If you do some googleing on him you will find he went bankrupt in 1999 and again in Dec 2012

ITS A BIG SCAM AVOID AT ALL COSTS! SCAM SCAM SCAM

If you bought off ebay it should be ok most card companies allow up to 180 days to do a charge back.

We got a few people scam us, had some people buy a contract get the mined Bitcoins then do a charge back, it's almost impossible to explain to the card company, If the scammers use it genuine people should also use it to get stolen money back if they paid by card.
