great post..!! sana maging paalala to sa mga kabayan natn .., na wag basta-basta mag click ng mga unknown links tulad ng nasa facebook
most of them are facebook porn virus,.. kapag na click mo na pakalat kalat syang ma popost sa ibat ibang section like groups, page at even it can send to your friends or even to your crush.. it's really humiliating tulad ng nangyari sa friend ko nag send link daw and account nya ng porn link to her crush..  Embarrassed

stay safe..! Grin

I found it helpful so I just want to share it to all you.

Tips on how to avoid Phishing sites:

Great tips.

I would also like to add avoid connecting to public wifi's.

And also, change your password regularly on all your accounts.

There are secured and really trusted sites out there that can keep all your passwords for you so that you will only have to remember one password.

Avoid / Disable Flash. I know, hassle din, pero phase out na ang Flash, at wala na masyadong gumagamit. Youtube works without flash.

Flash is one of the entry points for the latest ransomware, yung mga crypto-wall or crypto locker type. Meron na naman ako narinig tinamaan, and all he did was click on a website. Flash ang most likely suspect.

Solution for that, without paying, is re-format and restore from backup, kasi anti-virus is useless against ransomware.

Yung listahan mo, either papel (as in, physical na paper sa table mo or notebook, physical notebook), or encrypted file sa computer mo, with appropriate backups. Meron naman mga password managers but I don't use those.

Pick your style.
Sakto, sir Dabs.

Have a separate account for each login also.

Halimbawa meron kang account sa BIR or tax something, gawa ka ng account just for that. You can also make the username or login look like a password, kasi para doon lang. Para hindi mahulaan ng mga iba talaga.

Then, sa mga banko, create a completely different login for each different bank. Dati kasi, gawa ako ng Dabs sa BDO, then Dabs sa BPI, then Dabs sa SecurityBank, then Dabs sa Metrobank. Although iba ang password sa bawat account, you have the problem that malaman at subukan ng maraming beses, then meron maximum attempts at ma lock out ka.

That is called a denial of service attack. Let's say alam ko na "Dabs" ang BDO mo and "Dabs" din ang BPI mo, eh, just to make it difficult, I will try to log in to both your accounts, maski hindi ko alam ang password.

And the password, well, completely random.

Me, I make sure that different sites have different passwords as well although there are times where I need to hit the forgot password as I literally miss a character or 2 since I'm also using special characters, uppercase and lowercase letters as well as numbers. But for me, Sir Dabs' post above is the best.

Paypal - first@ email.com
FB - second@ email.com
Bank - third@ email.com
Personal - fourth@ email.com
Forums - fifth@ email.com
Games - sixth@ email.com
And so on...

Basta wag nyong ililink ang bawat isa. Hassle?
