Announcing progress on coins in a thread title (e.g. "Dash's Evolution reached a milestone" or "Dash's development progress as of April 28" where the April 28 is implicit in creating new "Dash's progress" threads every month) is tantamount to an ANN thread and thus shouldn't be allowed. A thread title which is about discussion of multifarious aspects of a coin should be allowed in Altcoin Discussion.

The point is create one perpetual thread for discussing Dash's progress and not new threads with that same topic so as to spam this Altcoin Discussion as if it is the ANN subforum, which it is not.
Those are actual discussion threads. Same as the dash speculation thread that qwizzie created. You're using the progress thread as an announcement thread--it is just you, tungfa, and a few others bumping links and circle jerk talk. But I'm sure you can't acknowledge the difference as it isn't in your best interest to acknowledge the difference.
Any forum thread in this section, which gets enough popularity to get bumped to the top should be allowed here, this is a discussion thread, the same topics could get discussed in different threads if someone feels the need to reopen them. The same happens with your anti-dash circlejerks, they have been reopened in many forms and under many names, but the content is always the same.
Another question would be the morality, which the monero trolls obviously failed to adopt. I don't find any problem in a project, which tries to maintain constant google hits and tries to make readers click on a link. That's called marketing and it goes together with a free discussion section since the content is crypto related. Obviously you couldn't advertise viagra here, but if you could buy it with crypto even that would be allowed.
The problem is that the progress thread is just an ANN page and there is already a section for that. Any thread that has little to no discussion and is chock-full-of-links as filler will get my satiric grin. As for morality, I think anyone who openly supports a coin that perpetuates the myth that it is decentralized and fairly launched while employing one of the most centralized launches in altcoin history (and topped-off with a centralizing schemes via paynodes), should have to stare at a sign that states, "Only noobs and greater fools need apply to the shitcoin I endorse, because nobody with any sense would buy into this racket" until that little ethic's lightbulb goes click and their cognitive dissonance dissipates into the realization that they aren't practicing what they preach. Every one of Tao's marketing slogans that read "Satoshi's dream..." should be painted over with "Satoshi's Nightmare." Then, at least, you would have some truth in advertising instead of the wolf of alt street BS meant to fool lambs to financial slaughter.
