Can Blockchain Technology Give Artists More Creative Freedom?

Zach LeBeau, the CEO of SingularDTV, hopes to pave a way for artists to freely display their content. His concept is an entertainment economy with blockchain technology and decentralized computing. He says this would “empower artists and creators with powerful tools to manage projects from development to distribution.”

From the slack today, current progress update:

Zach told us:
We must do some ETH reward testing before we launch our applications to make sure that the ETH community has the time to implement the necessary reward functionality in their exchanges and wallets.
It's a straightforward process for everyone to implement.
They’ll need to do it eventually anyway because the future of tokens is all about functionality coins don’t/can’t possess.
We're looking to start implement testing soon and will be announcing it before we do.
We'll probably ask everyone to transfer their SNGLS into the various wallet options that already support the reward withdraw functionality to lessen customer support issues for the exchanges and wallets that don't have the reward function implemented yet.
These upcoming tests should provide the opportunities for the wallets/exchanges to implement this function.

From SingularDTV light wallet:

https://www.myetherwallet.com/ has this implemented also
On MEW go to contracts
Select existing contract - SingularDTV
Then choose the withdraw revenue function.
I cannot find anything about this test on the official SingularDTV website or blog? Where did Zach tell us?

Here, https://singulardtv.slack.com/archives/C1MNP7058/p1499793039440764

and to add to this
Zach also said:

just to expand on that answer, in order to abide by the technical and legal structuring of our rewards system, rewards will be activated after applications become active.  ETH rewards, not only from ETH appreciation, but mostly from the generation of revenue, will become a normal everyday occurrence for SNGLS holders.

--

everyday occurrence, rewards rolling in... nice..

That's awesome news, holders will be finally rewarded.

I dont think it works yet, as there is no issued rewards yet, but at the modules launch there is for SNGLS holders.

SNGLS price has started to recover, now is a good time to get some into the bag...
There been rewards issued. A small amount was issued as part of the demo with the content creators.
In the SingularDTV wallet you can see your reward.

Thank you for correcting.

From slack today:

Is the promised "ETH appreciation"- rewarding token holders with ETH from the ETH raise in the value, still planned around the launch?

Yes, It certainly is.

--
Holders get the rewards from the start..
How does this work?

I think, for example with myetherwallet you just invoke the "collectrewards (cant remember if this was the correct name for the function)" function from the ether address that is holding the SNGLS.

Same goes for collecting the rewards in the future also, that accumulates to your address holding the SNGLS.

Where is this function "collectrewards"?
Using the SingularDTV wallet there is a simple button for it.
On MEW go to contracts
Select existing contract - SingularDTV
Then choose the withdraw revenue function.
Very good, thanks

Here is some more info on the rewards, from SingularDTV slack channel:

One function of the many embeded in the SNGLS Smart Contract System is the “Reward Distribution”
The SingularDTV SCS (smart contract system), has this reward functionality built-in. The reward smart contract acts like a bucket. Each time a reward (ETH) is added to it, addresses holding SNGLS at that time, can withdraw their reward proportional to the % of tokens they hold. For example, if you hold 1 000 000 SNGLS in a wallet which is 0.1% of the total amount of SNGLS in existence, you'll receive 0.1% of the total amount of ETH distributed in the Reward Contract.
If you transfer your SNGLS after the reward has been issued, you can still withdraw your reward by sending a tx to the reward smart contract, calling the withdraw function from the original address. It keeps track of who is eligible for the rewards even after the transfer happens. That means as long as you have access to the wallet, or the private key of the wallet that holds your, you can benefit from the rewards. If you don't withdraw the rewards and transfer your SNGLS, you can still withdraw your reward eligible for you, from the time you had your SNGLS up until the transfer.

https://forum.singulardtv.com/t/a-short-guide-how-to-purchase-send-receive-and-hold-sngls-tokens/121

the function is called withdrawRevenue
https://github.com/ConsenSys/singulardtv-contracts/blob/b1228d6deee89b3ed068d7f2af9f9bf0ad137b5b/contracts/SingularDTVFund.sol

as I have understood updates to the repo will come, when the product is released (late summer), now SingularDTV/Consensys is guarding their code...

The rewards are based on the amount of SNGLS you are holding on your address.
