Development Update:

Skywire Meshnet

The design is amazing. Skywire darknet router may be able to replace BGP and existing corporate VPN solutions. Its reverse comparable with IPv6 (IPv6 can be embedded over Skywire). Its very simple.

I dont want to talk much about this. Just have to finish implementation and get source code out there.

Skycoin Application Framework

Extremely exciting.  We have compiler for compiling Golang down to Javascript.

https://github.com/gopherjs/gopherjs

- Aether apps will be in Golang.
- The Golang will be compiled down to Javascript.
- The Javascript app will be stored in key zero in the Aether store.
- The other keys will contain data driving the application
- The app uses the AngularBinding for DOM manipulation
- Some functions will be exposed via API through DOM (DHT lookup, messaging)

This is a major step towards having iOS/Android style Darknet apps running on Skywire darknet.

Skywire Daemon Progress

Almost working. A few changes left. Changes to service introduction packet format, refactoring, removal of 2,000 lines of redundant code and other changes.

Project Management

Some things can be written down and handed by other developers. They are isolated, independent and easy to describe in detail.

Other things are very complicated design problems, where there is not a correct answer. Very difficult to outsource or delegate. These are problems, where if three developers are working on it, they each have own solution and insist it is the best solution. They cant agree at all. If they compromise the design ends up being worse than any of the individual solutions (design by committee).

We are getting through the last of the difficult problems. These design choices relating to how project components are structured, API interface and messaging formats. This is blocking the work the other developers need to do.  We are nearing end of this and can expand development effort soon.

IPO

We do not need the money from the IPO, so internal pressure to launch coin has been low.  However, we should do that immediately.

The blockchain was running in January and we should have kept it running and just made that the blockchain. Remaining changes affecting blockchain should be finalized and then coin will be "launched". However, much work ahead.

Great news for this great coin.
Can you tell us when the IPO distribution will start?

IPO will be like NEM IPO or like NFD IPO or???

respect 4 devs

Up to using same "Obelisk" term and Golang / Cpp mix?
Is it a scam?

will not be surprised to see more scams and clones coming soon.

if in one city only have one meshnet node , that is meaningless. but one city can only have one bitcoin miner. distribute through meshnet is a difficult way.

why ripple get dumped? three Creator have 20% coins, the dev control more than 70%, the community only have less than 10%, dumped by who ?  once one Creator Jed said he quit and will sell his coin, the ripple is dead.

skycoin is same as ripple, after 5years distribution, the devs still control 50%.  dev control too much .

I personally think that releasing all 100 million coins will make it very hard for coin to gain value market cap wise early on. With all behind said, this is a community coin. It's just oversight until community takes over.

why are you posting here if you don't let normal user to be part of an ipo? nobody will buy skycoin if you keep it private as nobody would be interested if they don't have an initial investement and without a strong community it will not succeed and make it more clear what you like from people like us

As far as I have read, there is going to be multiple IPOs.

IPOs aren't guaranteed investments, you most likely end up losing money. This is 0.05 cents per coin IPO.

There are many ways to get this coin. Lots will be released on exchanges, meshnet, bounties, etc. If you want to contribute to increase the value of the coin, you will get coins.

Investors that buy to speculate profit are worthless. They offer nothing to the coin. Sadly, if you buy this coin and think you are going to get rich from it, you are sadly mistaken. This is not a pump and dump scheme. Go get some Vericoin instead.

This is a long term coin, if you buy in, you are in it for years. Nobody wants people that buy and don't do anything for the coin.

Because with such a novel technology, you have to do it right.

Ripples getting dumped, BlackCoin is getting dumped (what do investors feel?), Mastercoin had only 35$ in volume in last 24 hours, Korecoin lost 75% of value in 24 hours. Too many fucking shit coin IPOS. Need to have people that care about technology vs the profits. Can't have the parasites that buy and dump each coin without giving shit with respective to the coin itself. You are in a community where these "investors" manipulate prices and fuck everyone over by pumping and dumping. Why do you want to get profit at others expense?

Well said. It'll be good to see a platform such as skycoin succeed based on merit as apposed to speculation.

People will argue that we have to trust the developers not to dump the coins. I would much rather trust the people who put time, effort and their expertise into this, who want it to succeed. As apposed to money hungry amateur wall street speculators who would probably be more happy with a good ponzi scheme then a good platform.

Also, these bounties offer incentive for core development and increased participation.

no good. centralized distribution by a human entity. this coin is only good for someone for example a company that wants to employ the use of a private cryptocoin for internal use. sell them the entire wallet and code etc and let them setup internal node servers etc.

to take part in a truly organic distribution method. click the link in my sig and take a look at the project im currently putting together.
