Blackcoin has been around for a while (created in 2014) and is listed on Bittrex and Poloniex.  I believe it was the first POS coin.  It is a good small cap project to invest in.   The current price in btc is close to it's all time low and far from it's all time high.  It's a good time to pick up some BLK.

I think the first POS was NXT in 2013.

I think the biggest hidden gem is Decent. I honestly think that coin is going to explode in 2018. Bitcoin brought its price down, and it just has a lot of positives, a very active team with lots of money, and a very ambitious roadmap. Other than that, I don't know. There are so many coins. If I only had the power to know every little detail of all the coins out there. Such a power would be so valuable.

I'm looking for suggestions on small cap coins that are intended to be used as currency or have a unique offering. Small cap being under $5m to $100m. Does anyone have a few hidden gems that they would like to share?

One coin that hits bulls-eye for your criteria is Spectrecoin.  It has a current m-cap between $30-40 million.  It aspires to become the go-to privacy coin for small remittances - a Hawala-like, 100% private and anonymous, peer-to-peer digital cash.  Development is well under way; current features include a sleek and easy to use wallet with native Tor integration (meaning, it operates at all times within the Tor network - no entry or exit nodes), OBFS4 obfuscation protocol which enables use in Tor-blocked countries, ring signatures for transactional anonymity, ultrafast 60-second transaction speeds, encrypted passphrase, and low power staking which yields 5% per year in staking rewards to users who keep their wallets open for staking.  Upcoming features include default stealth addresses (goodbye rich list!), stealth staking (first ever in crypto history), stealth transaction facility with exchanges, an advanced first-of-its-kind ring signature protocol (Ghost Protocol), and the Spectre Cash small remittance Android app for peer-to-peer anonymous transactions.

Spectrecoin has some very dynamic and positive developments unfolding behind the scenes right now.  Look for XSPEC's newly revamped website, in the next week or two.  In the meantime, check out the wiki page, and come say hi to our vibrant community on slack:

It's better to invest into small yet old coins like DGB or XVG (when it dips) with a solid team and some trust

There are lots of low market cap trash coins, looking for hidden gems is like gold hunting. I think investing in coins with high market cap is better.

I agree. It appears the higher cap coins have been vetted more, which makes sense. For that you lose out on initial 10x gains, but I suppose the risk is significantly less.

Cartaxi has already been discovered, their company is a fraud, the coin is a fraud.

How are they going to implement taxis in all over the world being paid with their tokens? There is no way to make it done.

Their team is full of developers, marketers and salesman, there isn't anyone who knows of taxi's or caps work at the moment.

They only wanted to raise money, nothing more than that.

I believe in Cartaxi and Worldcore. They are the hidden gems around 5 million and 10 million. They could be possible 10x times to 100x times.

I believe in Cartaxi and Worldcore. They are the hidden gems around 5 million and 10 million. They could be possible 10x times to 100x times.

Caratxi will buy back tokens each month which will reduce the available tokens.Gladly the circulating supply of CarTaxi has reduced from 60 million to 39 million with buybacks from the last 3 months. CMC will be updated.Proce of the coin will sky rocket. Also it pays monthly dividends.

Worldcore is also a good working project and it has already gained 2x times profits for their investors and could increase up to 100 times of it's current value.
