This made my day.  Grin Wouldn't it be easier to just write a few lines of text by yourself then to paraphrase somebody else?  Huh

How the hell did you find these?
I do not understand why someone should do this now with Merit system...  Huh Huh

He was able to spot these. But all members are not going to check if the post is copied or not. So copying a quality post from another blog or forum and posting it here is an easy option for scammers to get some merit points.

Evolution of spamming Cheesy
Funny idea, at least I can say that it's good they read some posts carefully, without this they can't pharaprase.
Some spammers don't even read thread's subject.

Also these spammers need to correct some gramatical erors when they pharaprase, for example this:
Quote
When BTC was used by everybody no one are poor.
Maybe he/she means that the massive use of bitcoin will fix poverty.
Nice catch OP.. However I just ignore those spammers..

I'd like to make you aware of an interesting case that i've noticed. A guy is leveling up by spamming, although he's doing it in a "smart" way. He's throwing one of the existing posts into some kind of rephrasing software (probably made to combat anti-plagiarism software that looks for similarities in writing). Words in the given post get substituted with synonyms so that it looks completely different but the meaning remains the same.

Examples:

The original:
The relation between the Bitcoin and Economy is very strong. Bitcoin can improve the economy of a single person and also of a country. There are many opportunities with bitcoin for people so that they can earn a good income with bitcoin. Like Working online for the investor and traders of the bitcoin.  working with bitcoin investors make people rich and working with trader give them high idea about the bitcoin too. After that you can also invest and can make trad with bitcoin.

Paraphrased spam:
The connection between the Bitcoin and Economy is extremely solid. Bitcoin can enhance the economy of a solitary individual and furthermore of a nation. There are numerous open doors with bitcoin for individuals so they can acquire a decent wage with bitcoin. Like Working on the web for the speculator and merchants of the bitcoin. working with bitcoin financial specialists make individuals rich and working with broker give them high thought regarding the bitcoin as well. After that you can likewise contribute and can make trad with bitcoin.

The original
Why not?It can be possible to recognized Bitcoin around the world if   everybody legalized it.When BTC was used by everybody no one are poor.
Maybe as of now they know or hear about Bitcoin but lack of information regarding cryptocurrency. And some place has no internet.

Paraphrased
Why not?It can be conceivable to perceived Bitcoin around the globe if everyone legitimized it.When BTC was utilized by everyone nobody are poor.
Perhaps starting at now they know or find out about Bitcoin yet absence of data in regards to cryptocurrency. And some place has no web.

Original
thats good to hear that forex had already decided to accept cryptos on their platform this event could greatly have a big impact to the cryptocurrency economy but not only forex but also some other big companies online like facebook and amazon has also planning to have a partnership with crypto specifically bitcoins but soon they could also add some altcoins like eth as an alternative to bitcoin if ever the fees had sky rocketed again.

Paraphrased
That is great to hear that forex had effectively chosen to acknowledge cryptos on their stage this occasion could extraordinarily have a major effect to the digital money economy yet forex as well as some other huge organizations online like facebook and amazon has likewise wanting to have an association with crypto particularly bitcoins however soon they could likewise include some altcoins like eth as a contrasting option to bitcoin if at any point the expenses had soar once more.

It seems to be working as most people don't notice something like that. It's nice to see spammers are putting so much effort into this. I guess this is what we call an excess of form. Smiley

Solid work, coolcoinz! I think that these posts aren't even considered as paraphrasing, these posts are straight up  PLAGIARIZED. I was taught that when you paraphrase something, you have to change the whole formation and wording but you have to keep the same thought into it while giving recognition to the person who originally stated it. As you can see,  Peterson410 just changed some of the words that even the placement of the punctuations in each of the posts are copied. Wow, how lazy can this person be? Thank you for being very vigilant, coolcoinz! This forum truly deserves more people like you.

There is another topic about smart spammers, but author of the topic mis-classified them as plagirised, not paraphrased-threads.
I give you link to that one for more discussion:

Smart spammers are smart spammers, we can not ignore that fact. And personally I dont think we will have any measures to control or eliminate those ones.

Whoa! I find it really unfair! For those who are exerting much effort like me to compose such constructive post, can't believe there were bots like that just to gain merit or just to level up their rank. He's so lucid and greedy to accelerate effortless.

If only it's possible for a newbie to give a merit to you OP,  i will. BUT i don't think it's possible. Wink With your effort to find spammers, i really appreciate your endeavor.

I've seen it too, they copy a good comment and just mix it a little. Most of the time is done in the same thread as the original post, if you have the time to read all the comments you can spot many like this.
The smarter ones are pasting them in different threads with similar topic, so you have to be really careful in spotting something like this. I think I have reported already one or two such activities.
Now with the merit system is gonna be easier, just find one of the merit-ed post copy-paste it in different thread and there you go.

Note to spammers: It's easier to simply make good posts  Smiley.
I suspect someone is using a bot of some sort to search for posts, and change what they say. I wouldn't be surprised if the spammer doesn't do anything himself after the bot is setup, and account created.

Well that's the whole point of the bots as the owners can just sit back and relax whilst they do all the work for them. They just use a program to automatically change a few words for synonyms which often is a big red flag as posts start to make less sense and stand out more (I've seen them swap bitcoin 'mining' for 'digging' etc.) The real problem here is this account could just be one of hundreds all doing the same.

The merit system should do a pretty good job of combating this because these guys probably will not get sufficient merit

It will help greatly but people will still farm accounts this way then worry about getting merit later (or farm that as well). There will still be a market for accounts with potential rank/activity as well.

apparently you really photographic memory, read one in one place, and then the content in another, but that the meaning of both messages was the same - this is a rare gift. That's who should be promoted to moderators!

Wow! How did you noticed that? You're such a good observer. Shocked. Thanks to you, that spammer will no longer continue his wrong deeds because I'm sure the admins are now taking action regarding this. Cheesy

Honestly, I want to give that spammer a round of applause for what he have done Grin. Who would imagine that he could be able to make spams easily by replacing the words with its synonyms. Whether he used a bot or not, I could say that he is very smart in doing those such things but what he did is wrong after all. (To be clear, I'm not admiring his wrong deeds)

So some users prefer to find synonyms for a few words and the copy paste, then to think for an original post? this seems to be to much work. but peoples are very strange

Spinning software (like The Best Spinner)  was very popular a few years ago as a way to try and fool Google into thinking your website had original content. It doesn't really work well for Google anymore, but I guess someone found another use for the software...

OMG I see u dude - and I salute u - hahaha!

I'd give you and the OP a sMerit nod - but i don't got none so salutes are all I can offer.

Is the spammer the OP caught out participating in sig campaigns? Cos the merit system (other than restricting the BTT rank level) does nothing to combat the spam/shitposts that will still be valid under sig campaigns rewardable by the projects/icos so yeh... good one BTT Smiley at least you didn't do what facebook did I suppose and just start refusing linkposts in ur effort to kerb spam Smiley big brother is e'rywhere Wink

yeah! It's excellent paraphrasing. Paraphrasing is not bad, it is also help writers to sharpen their writing skills, particularly with non-native English users. Those sort of intensive efforts they put in paraphrasing also help them to build up their vocabularies. The problem is, if they paraphrased first, then based on those paraphrased paragraph, they expanded or discussed about the original ideas. I am not sure those users mentioned in the OP did that.

Anyway, thanks for your very interesting discoveries, which maybe found by chances.  Shocked

Holy shit man, that's an impressive find. I was going to write that I'm actually amazed by the amount of effort someone took to come up with these, but then i realized that it's merely a matter of copy-pasting into one of dozens of spinners. On a scale 1-5, 2 for effort, 3 for creativity, 0 for shitposting & an honorary 5 for your eagle eye.
