Any particular reason why Litecoin will go up again ?

I think it's because LTC GPU mining is still profitable. As ASICs flood the BTC landscape, GPU miners will either sell or switch to LTC.

I am still not sure how I feel about LTC, it feels a bit meta.

Fuck, btc mining is still profitable wthh GPUs, although if acics come in force soon that will end.  I bought two GPUs a couple months ago since I like my office to be a little warmer than we keep the house and they've paid themselves off already, not counting electricity.  But why count on electricity in the winter?  Even if I did count electricity, I'm pretty close to profit territory on that decision.  Winter is fading though, so if difficulty catches up with price I may have to take a break until next winter.

Preaching the gospel of Satoshi
I like the idea of Litecoin, but I can't get over how retarded the whole scrypt thing is.

ASICs are good for a digital currency, end of story. The more security = the better.

I'm mining Lite just to get Bit atm.

I would argue that miner diversity is good for security. Where BTC mining is becoming a specialist business. LTC mining is open and profitable for anyone with a GPU. I'd rather put my security bet on a legion of teenagers in basements running GPU rigs on parent subsidized energy costs (and perhaps the next generation of game consoles) than a bunch of concentrated datacenters running ASIC hardware.

It's not "specialist," there's just a void in the market for smaller, more affordable ASIC products. Give it time.

But I wonder for how long these LTC GPU miners will be kept online just for the sake of the network, after all the subsidies have been mined.
I wonder of the ASICs will have the best impact in the longer term, since they are almost in the ranks of professional miners, not amateur hobbyists.

I was wrong, it hit $1 which is good for LTC.

I have to wonder how much of this is pure manipulation.

volume doesnt lie. There are quite a few new LTC users on the LTC forums and on the LTC network...just statistically...

Personally I think we will see a BTC rally next week with LTC/BTC falling as a result. I give it another few weeks for Atlantis to have an impact on LTC price. Once BTC slows down, I reckon LTC will catch up. This is pure speculation though. I'm also not sure when the changes to Mt. Gox will be implemented, and how this will affect the exchange rate in the short term.

Well, I got that wrong then... BTW good call Smoothie

Anyone know how much money it would take to make LTC rise like it has?
