As more companies accept Bitcoin payments, their competition are forced to follow suit or risk being left behind in the dust.  The momentum builds upon itself so that each stage is far bigger than the last.

One of the latest to come on board: TigerDirect.

Bitcoin is on a roll.  And it has only just begun.

I just saw the TigerDirect story on twitter so clicked on the TigerDirect.com link and there is currently no site there - what gives?

I think there site might have done for a moment earlier because the same thing happened to me but a few minutes later it was working.

Not sure, it works for me...

To OP, yep there are bound to be ups and downs still but with BTMs spreading and some larger retailers starting to look at Bitcoin in a serious way, 2014 could get very interesting.

I believed very strongly that 2014 would be the year of more large scale merchant adoption and improved services to make bitcoin easier for regular people to use.

So far the large merchant adoption trend seems to be holding up only 3 weeks into the new year. I'm looking forward to see what sort of innovations start popping up to make bitcoin easier/safer for regular people now that will/should have quite a few outlets to use bitcoin at.

All of this little news sure does add up to give us the sum, which is that companies are taking a serious look at Bitcoin - that's excellent.

The prices have been stagnant/declining of late because of what is going down in China.

The correct motivation is seeing opportunity.

Fear gets you going backward.  Seeing the possibilities moves you forward.  Indeed, that is scary to many people - and that's a good thing because it leaves the field open for the rest of us who choose to forge ahead, create, expand while exploring new opportunities that scare the timid masses.

I am in complete agreement with what you're saying... no need to preach about that here, go post in the KNC thread about this. They're the ones who need a pep talk. But I wouldn't hold by breath for the outcome of your attempts to calm them. Fear has taken hold and its obvious that these people aren't good investors. First, they're much too worried about ROI and they're jumping ship way too easily. Nothing significat has changed!

Enjoying it now!  Cool

Let's see who will throw next.

right now the snowball fight seems to be between KNC customers. Half are freaking the F out, the others of us are in HODL mode.

The sky is falling crowd: "Everyone jump ship before it sinks!"

The optimistic crowd: "HODL... H O   D     L!"

It's difficult to not be drawn into this cyclical conversation. One thing is certain in mind is that many are overreacting by jumping ship already, we're not even in the home stretch yet.

Why are half the KNC customers freaking the F out?

The same motivator that MOST people base decisions on their entire lives: FEAR!
