This is not the right time. I've bought bitcoin at a price above 1.000USD. if I sell it this time then I will suffer great losses. better I do hold and be patient until bitcoin prices rise again. wait is the right choice when looking at the current price.

No,no,no. I'll keep on hodling and no matter what happens I'll keeping my faith with the charts of bitcoin. After these dramas, we will see bitcoin to pump again and if it will reach my satisfying price which is $1,250-$1,300 probably I'll sell. I really don't get it that why there are a lot of people that are worried about this down.
yeah holding bitcoin is very much better because a lot of people holding their bitcoin and we know that bitcoin demand is very high and bitcoin increasing its price permanently so hold your bitcoin is better.

I mine the altcoins. I usually sell most of the mined altcoins to buy the bitcoin. It might change if the bitcoin price does go lower.

Change in what way? That you stop converting your minted altcoins to Bitcoin? If so, then that wouldn't really make any sense as the lower the price is, the more incentive people have to obtain Bitcoin either through converting their altcoins to BTC, or their fiat. I can however understand that if you operate a physical mining rig that you have certain expenses that need to get covered, but you can also choose to convert like 50-75% of your minted altcoins to Bitcoin, where you use the rest to cover expenses. Including more details would be a helpful thing, because now people can only guess what your situation might be.

No.. I've got a paper wallet printed out with the public key stuck to my monitor. I routinely send small amounts of bitcoins to the wallet(~10% of my total btc). The private key is well, hidden away somewhere. I'll break it out when the time comes

Doesn't make sense....  Huh

People's emotions don't make sense, do they?

When it is obvious that bitcoin will experience a correction from that ridiculous nearly $1300 we stayed at for half a week or so, nobody thought that they were going to be selling their coins. Everyone was buying, some even with leverage.

Now that they see bitcoin can crash, they are the first ones to dump their coins bought at the ATH.

I mean, it should really be the opposite way around to make a profit.

Personally, i'm still in profit, but i'll hold because i believe in bitcoin.

Just because the price of bitcoin is lower than $1000, doesn't mean bitcoin is going to die.
To early to say that Bitcoin would die even it dips it price on 900 mark but still its high theres no really need to panic when price of bitcoin does drop because i do treat it as a normal thing that do really happen on bitcoins price.Panic selling do normally happens on most newbies which they dont know too much on bitcoins potential.

Definitely not dead.

Bitcoin still has a long way ahead of it and if you look at the historical charts you will find that bitcoin at $900 and beyond is still a rare occurance. The average price of bitcoin during the whole of 2015 was only around $250-$300.

It would be stupid to sell now, at least hold till the end of the year and see what happens.

I've sold all my coins at $1100 and now i'll be the first to buy when the price drops down to $900. Wink

Holding would be the better option since bitcoin price is recovering and its now around $970.Soon,it would cross $1000 and by the end of april,it would reach $1200 again because BU would be be no more at that time and most of the altcoin holders would have returned to bitcoin.

No will still wait till the price of bitcoin will back to 1200 us dollar per coin i don't want to lose profit since i bough bitcoin when the price is at $1000 i will sell my coins when the price is right. Hold wait for the moment enjoy your coins watching them to increase.

Only people who will get panic will sell their coins at this low price and if you have bought your coins at $1k level or above then it doesn't make any sense in selling them at this stage as you have invested to make profits from it so you will only sell them when it will exceed your entry price.

Bazinga!
it is always the panic and the pressure combined with the fact that most people don't even know why they have invested in bitcoin. most of them have done it because they heard to the moon and get rich quick, so they got in. and when they see price going down, they don't see the chance to buy more cheap coins instead the see their dreams crushed so they start selling.
the funny part is that when price goes up they again see their dreams crushed because they no longer have bitcoin so they buy back in at a higher price.

I agree with you, it does not make sense selling at a lost.  Aside from that Bitcoin had proven itself the capability to recover.  History proved it.  Just look at the 2013 bubble and 2014 burst.  It goes down to sub 200 but then goes on a rally for almost two years to beat its ATH.  So I guess it would make sense if we decide to buy more, now that Bitcoin is <$1000.

Yeah its good time to buy more bitcoins as price is below $1k so the people who were waiting for making an investment in bitcoin at low price this is the best time for them as price may start recovering back in coming days and if they don't buy now then they will miss an golden opportunity of buying at lower price.

Considering the fact that years ago the market was in a much worse situation, and yet the price was much higher, in fact it does not make much sense.
Yeah, there was not that hard fork drama, but I think people are overdoing it. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see much support for such a thing happening.

It's panic that dictates the sentiment right now. The majority of the people without any real experience can't stand the pressure of how the market is moving up and down. Easiest way for them is to sell. But as mostly happens -- these people end up buying back their coins at a premium. But hey, who are we to judge how they react to market panic. I rather take full advantage of this whole situation and buy at sub $900 levels, and that's exactly what I did.
I think that the problem is that a lot of people also buy into Bitcoin intending for it to be a currency as well as an investment.  When they think that their ability to spend will be hindered a lot of the time for whatever they're doing, they'll store in more stable currencies until the heat is off.

Still, if the price goes down it'll just be an opportunity for someone who was more prepared, and I hope that no one put in too much money for them to handle.

I doubt people that purely look to make an investment also look at it from a currency point of view. Bitcoin is for the majority of the people just an investment tool, which clearly shows as people aren't willing to spend their coins. Especially not when they have the feeling that their coins will gain more value overtime. Regarding over-investing, it's a common thing here in the Bitcoin world. That's why people tend to dump far sooner than when they would have invested a more appropriate amount into Bitcoin.

Untill just last year I have always believed that bitcoin at some point will be replaced by other coins. The longest history is not enough of advantage - after a few years it evens out. You need new features. Then I thought that TumbleBit and RootStock would add all the most needed features to bitcoin and if that is possible than other features would follow. Now I am a bit pessimistic about the chance for SegWit which would enable TumbleBit or RootStock - 95% is a very big majority, even if BU just relents, there will always be 6% of stubborn or lazy miners.

I have sold most of the bitcoin I got when it was at 1200$+. Right now I am waiting for it to go back down a little more or I'll wait until I am sure that the price bitcoin is in is the new floor price. It would be hard to determine it but I would rebuy bitcoin to the lowest price possible in this dump. I will do it since I believe it is not dead yet and it have more potential left in it.
