That is the development of the times and it turns out that social media has multiple functions, apart from being a tool for communication and socializing it can also be used as a good market for the products we make or places of business and some even use it as their workplace, although sometimes we get annoyed with what appears from what is being talked about on social media. Wise in terms of social media, I don't understand what you mean, maybe I will understand if you say that using social media for business is likely to be easy to make profits because as we can see, on average, everyone uses social media.

I was also wondering something similar to this and I also think that social media is growing into an arena of business rather than it's initial intent of socialization and I think it is really helping the people cut alot of expenses which includes shop rents and shop utility bills and these online vendors are making more of profits as their products are been exposed to more people.

There are also more of advantages of social media outside of it being a social tool for communication as can be used for marketing of goods and services without a third party involvement and having to pay any commission to anyone and there are lazy people like myself who barely have the time and strength to go for a market survey so what I do basically is sort for my goods online and compare prices before heading to the market and this act gives me an insight to the price I should be expecting when I get to the market.

I think it's only fair, most businesses are made through socialization anyway so the point stands that businesses belong in these sites, although what I hate most about this shift of focus is the fact that these sites focus more on monetization rather than the overall user experience. Take facebook for example. The app rarely ever offers bug fixes for most of its notorious bugs and issues, heck, an issue that went on after one of their massive site changes are still present today pestering the daily lives of everyone who wants to look at other people's posts, and yet sponsored ads, advertisements of all kinds run rampant in the site like dogs in a festival. If only they made it so that the user experience is taken seriously as much as the business aspect of the site does.

There's this called algorithm that these social media websites use as to what they'll show you. So, it means that what we search is what they're going to show us based on that interest we've searched about.

And if that's mostly what you're seeing then I guess, they know what you are interested about.
