Thats a good point about the hologram shape and size. Whatever about sourcing
different "off the shelf" circular holograms I recon holograms to fit the segment
on one face would have to be specifically ordered which would mean a large quantity I suspect.

On the ebay listings some of the coins do show label/hologram residue
also its clear there is no indentation on the face to insert the private key, a sticky label
has to be used under the hologram.

I also very much wonder what the story on these coins really is. Someone posted about them possibly being fakes and had some sort or proof or info to back up those claims, but I can’t remember who posted or what their exact reasoning to call them fake was. Something to do with the thickness of the 0’s and 1’s I think. My guess is Top World peeled them due to breach issue that arised.

I bought one. Just to see. No hologram residue. Could have been cleaned of course.

These would be cool DIYs I guess but it’s an odd hologram shape, guessing might make them more expensive (maybe), but it also poses challenges for how to place on the private keys as it’s a much smaller more defined space than most coins.

Thanks for the response! I completely agree with all of your comments, although it is interesting, as the description indicates residue from the hologram.

I wanted to clarify a few items, as I was not trying to do this for profit, but rather add some color/usefulness to the couple of coins I bought.

I ordered 1 Bull and 3 Eagles as I absolutely love the design.  I was thinking of making a similar hologram, but distinctively different (again, my intent was not to resell or pass off as a fake).  I do know there are usually a required number when ordering custom holograms, so I wanted to see if anyone else was interested, as I think these look a ton better with the blue hologram than without. And if we did work together on a hologram, I am not trying to make any profit, rather trying to make the couple I ordered look better.

Thanks!

Mark

I get what you are trying to do.

For me vetting one of these coins or any other peeled coin is really nice and a less
expensive way of acquiring a well known Bitcoin numismatic but its incomplete.

By reloading it and applying a new not original hologram you essentially turn it into
a DIY self-funded coin and it will never be anything more and as long as it is advertised
as such at a re-sale its all good IMO.

Ohh, if there is residue it is a peeled original most likely. If you want to do a hologram you can probably search hologram and find a thread. I know there have been several discussion threads regarding producing holograms. You can also find the companies from there. Might be a tough hologram because of the unique shape. But that might be a good place to start.

A couple of things about these coins. These coins are not redeemed. They are either counterfeit. Or the company sold the rest of their lot. I spoke to top world coins about these and they would neither confirm or deny that they sold them to this guy in Germany. I personally believe they got tired of handling the funding process and sold the rest off. These coins also come with a pretty convincing COA. I was mad about it because it cheapens the brand putting these out there. Even though they dont have the hologram.
As far as your DYI idea. As long as your not passing off originals its fine. Although your limited by the number this guy in Germany has. It will confuse new people just getting in to hobby. They might think there getting originals. I say if you really want to make a coin. Start with an original idea and design. Good luck

Greetings!  This is not my item for sale, but I bought 2 of them and wanted to share with the group and had an idea.  First off, I found a listing from Germany for a large number of Sol Noctis redeemed coins, the Eagle and the Bull:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/393430536544?hash=item5b9a499160:g:pv0AAOSw5yxgrM3a

https://www.ebay.com/itm/363476100319?hash=item54a0dd24df:g:DfoAAOSw~mpgrM9h

The price seems very reasonable compared to the other redeemed/peeled coins, and also from what I can tell on the thread, they seem like a likely untrustworthy coin from a confidence factor.

However, then an idea hit me...  Could we seize this opportunity to make it into a DIY coin?   Not sure if anyone else would be interested, but I would like to order some type of custom hologram (not trying to copy the original) to make it into a DIY coin.  I love the artwork of the original, and I was hoping someone on the forum would have an interest in creating a hologram for it.   I figured I could order some custom hologram stickers from Aliexpress or something, but figured I would share with the group and see if anyone had any ideas/thoughts.

In any case the seller add seems legitimate and I wanted to share.  If anyone wants to help with a hologram design, please post here, I am interested in ordering some for sure.  Again, I don't want to resale/pass it on as a real original, but rather as an improved DIY coin.

Thanks!
