One thing I do not get: Why are you selling this item, if it can make 230 BTC in 79 days?

"may rise"? LOL
The nit-picking on this forum is ridiculous.  Nothing about what he said was misleading.

In the "real world", he would have worded this properly.  Is English not your first language?

Starting bid is 230 BTC which is ~78 days breakeven at current difficulty (yes, I know, difficulty may raise, caveat emptor)

"may rise"? LOL

So... You mean that maybe won't rise at all? Yeah... RIGHT Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I have to say that I love when sellers calculate ROI in their offers without taking into account the yearly profitability decline, in the "real world" you would be fined for "misleading advertising".

Starting bid is 230 BTC which is ~78 days breakeven at current difficulty (yes, I know, difficulty may raise, caveat emptor). Bid increments are 1 BTC. The auction will run till Tuesday, June 4th, 13:00:00 PST (20:00:00 GMT). If there are new bids in the last hour of the auction, it will be extended for another 6 hours to give everyone an opportunity to amend their bids.

Ya, starting bit 230 = Pretty much the top dollar for these on the 'wave'. If someone offers you 230, jump on it...

asicminer sells blades 50 btc per 10ghash, so 230s not crazy high.  Still think 2.5 btc per ghash is my entry point.

So that's about BTC 1.625 for every 1% of a 3-module Avalon.

yup,  thats for a unit in hand.

Hmmm...   I don't think the price is too high for the performance (relative to other ASIC offerings).  It's actually quite reasonable.  The ONLY reason I haven't jumped on this is because I worry about Avalon's support.  Their communication has been horrid where Friedcat has been "on top of things" (although it takes him a little time to respond).

+1, was just thinking the exact same thing. Would hate to buy this and need support, feel much more comfortable with friedcat. Yifu is borderline BFL.

I'm you will probably find someone that will pay around your 'opening' price because there's still the Bitcoin ASIC fever going on but I highly doubt much more. I'd have started the auction a bit lower.

Considering ASICMINER blades pricing of 50btc * 7 = 350btc for the same GH/s, it's clearly a bargain. Especially keeping in mind that those blades will be shipping god-knows-when while this unit can start mining for you tomorrow. If no one is willing to make a reasonable bid for this unit, I'm quite content keeping it to myself. I'm not in any hurry to sell it at all.

Though the blades were auctioned off a while ago now. I don't think anyone is buying blades at 50 BTC now. Good luck with the auction though, a little pricey but hey you snooze you lose.

Yep, blades still being bought at 50 btc https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/asicminer-blade-sales-temporarily-out-of-stock-204030

Why? Can't buy anything that competes with the price. This unit is priced very good, would be surprised if it doesn't sell.

Exactly and the way these are depreciating it's just my opinion that the starting bid is quite high is all. If it was a true auction, you shouldn't start at the high end price (if you're truly auctioning something and willing to take the market demand price. Clearly this is more of a classified for sale ad 'hoping' to fetch some super high dollars. Probably explains why there's 0 bids.. not a bargain... enough said.

Also important to note that these things literally go down in value by the day for several reasons. I personally wouldn't gamble that long of an ROI with all of the different things that could take place making it a lost investment for that kind of money.
