We all missed something in the OP - congratulate the poster on his extreme bravery. He needs money to pay the bills - meaning, *all* of his money was in bitcoin. Not something many of us here have the balls to do Smiley

It will likely break $100 tomorrow/tuesday, and $1000 by the end of the year.

I'm quoting you on this Wink

I refuse to believe that you sold all your bitcoins.

But just in case you did:

Probably the biggest mistake you have made, and will ever make, in your entire life. Just like when I sold tons <$10.

Welcome to the dark side of Bitcoin.

Did I make a mistake? How much is bitcoin expected to go up in a week? Month? I do need the money to pay bills ...
If you need the money to pay the bills then how is it a mistake and why is it even a question?!

If you have chosen to get out now having held on for some time whilst nervous of the price going down then well done Smiley  You have done well and have now departed making it that much easier for others to get in the game.  If Bitcoin was for you just a fun thing to do for a while to help subsidise your time in college then good for you (assuming it was not against the terms of your college to use their electricity for your gain).  You were lucky to have done it at the period you did.  If you've sold all now then I guess you're not seeing the bigger picture which is fine.  I'll wish you the best with your future Smiley

Unless you're upgrading to ASICs chances are you're unlikely to be mining very much for much longer so maybe it would be an idea to expect no more fiat from the sale of Bitcoin and just keep the remainder that you get from mining for the long term - just in case the price continues to go parabolic.

as a fellow miner, I sold way too much, at way too cheap over the last couple years.

normally I would sell on the way up, to pay the bills, and put aside some to buy on the dips...

Man, I miss those dips.

I don't have any fancy charts or TA or anything, but I have a feeling that we'll take a breather at the +/- 100 level, but after that, we could see another steep rise.

This deal in Cypress is more serious than I thought. I think this is just the beginning.

*totally ridiculous prediction? 200 before the end of April*

:edit: forgot to mention, taking profit is a good thing, it's a necessary thing, and $94 is a pretty good haul... BUT, I have adopted the strategy of selling half, and keeping half.

this way, I can still pay the bills, and I've recouped my initial investment. Yet, I have a little skin in the game just in case this thing really takes off.

In the short term I'm thinking bitcoins will probably keep going up,might be hard to continue sitting on the sidelines if you are missing some big moves up in price. However I'm thinking the price will fall down hard at some point. Only time will tell if you were right to sell now or not. I'm holding mine for now.

I NEVER bought any BTC. I mined everything Smiley

Someone paid for your bitcoins. The hardware and electricity was not free.

Electricity was free (college). I flipped my Hardware until it was free.

Which means that someone paid for your bitcoins.

Don't neglect bills based on speculation. You didn't make a mistake, you were responsible and reasonable -- the latter of which tends to be lacking on these boards at times.

Cheesy There's nothing like government restriction/control inflating price.

They are almost assuredly going over 100 by Thursday. Personally, I would buy back whatever % you are comfortable keeping in because once that barrier is crossed, its going to spike again.
